Chapter 15 Imperial Capital

The target point on the other end flashes.

Hero walked out of the [door], and as soon as he took one step, he fell to his knees on the ground.

He shook his head vigorously, trying to get rid of the damn dizziness.

And he complained with some inarticulate words: "I'm sick, I'm sick, this is too dizzy!"

This is more uncomfortable than motion sickness. Obviously, the time to travel a distance is only a blink of an eye, but the aftereffects are too strong.

“You’ll get used to it after you come a few times!”

Mena laughed out loud. He didn't feel any discomfort at all. After all, his soul strength was higher than that of Hero, and he had used the [Gate] to teleport many times over long distances, so he had already adapted to it.

Seeing Holo deflated at this moment was quite unpleasant.

"I hope..."

Hero, who had been lying on the ground to relax for a while, raised his head.

He breathed in the air here, and even the calm soul energy in his body began to beat with joy.

There is no fishy smell from the port, no weirdness of the black forest, and no dilapidation of the old capital of Galle.

I finally left that hellish place.

Southern Empire!

I will never go there again in this life!

Hero looked like a country bumpkin entering the city, observing the entire square. There were dozens of stone pillars standing in the square, all of them shining with light. Every time they flickered, someone would walk out of the stone pillars.

And every magician’s costume is different and full of strange things!

This made Hero even more excited.

This is like a game world! The magician's costumes are all unique but very personal, and each set is a unique fashion.

But the strange thing is that he didn't see the soul beast or the soul weapon.

Logically speaking, in the circle of magicians like the Imperial Capital, soul beasts and soul weapons should be very common.

But most magicians have nothing on them.

The very few magicians who carry anything with them are just boxes of equipment or cloth bags.

"Let's go, this is just a buffer zone on the outskirts of the imperial capital, used to supervise the defense. We still need to walk some distance to get to the real imperial capital."

Mena took Hero's hand and walked out of the square, making way for the teleportation point behind him.

Hero discovered that there were many similar squares here, with numerous stone pillars and exquisite carvings.

The sun shines on it, creating a quiet and beautiful atmosphere.

All magicians who come out of the [Gate], and occasionally familiar magicians will travel together.

Including Mena and him, everyone walked outside along the wide gravel path.

"Why not summon the spirit beast and hurry up? We are all magicians, shouldn't time be precious? If we go to the imperial capital, won't we waste time in case of emergency?"

The road ahead has no end, and there are even low areas and high slopes, but all the magicians are walking calmly.

Returning to a familiar place, the smile on Mena’s face never disappeared:

"The magicians who choose to teleport here usually have enough free time.

There may be poor or weak magicians among them, but the number is definitely not many. If you are not strong enough, why go out for a walk? Isn't it better to just stay in the tower?

And when you become stronger or rich, you can choose to pay a fee and set up a separate teleportation point directly in the tower.

As for why this place exists...that is also a bloody lesson.

After the failure of the Great Crusade, there was a split in the empire's magician organization. Those heretical magicians would hunt their teleported comrades in the imperial capital!

In order to prevent this situation from happening again, the thirteen tower owners united with other grand dukes to establish a buffer zone outside the imperial capital.

With the help of thirteen towers, a soul-forbidden realm was laid out in the buffer zone.

You cannot use any soul magic or summon soul beasts here.

However... ever since the Grand Duke handed over the soul magic formula of [Gate] to the tower, many magicians with similar circuits can pay to learn how to make it, which has also led to the existence of many [Private Doors] in the corners of the imperial capital.

.

If you can enter the tower, you will know that some mutual aid groups, action groups, and families will have their own [doors].

Therefore, the buffer zone is a designated safety zone in the tower, where you don't have to worry about being sniped or being tricked.

But if they need convenience and are in a hurry, many magicians still choose to go [privately].

There is no soul-forbidden realm in the tower, but the supervision of the tower will ensure the safety of most magicians in the tower.

However, in the imperial capital, you have to rely on yourself. As the center of the empire, the tower does not impose many restrictions.

But if you seek death, release soul skills indiscriminately, and allow soul beasts to devour ordinary people, you will be dealt with by the Judgment Team!"

As he spoke, Mena suddenly asked excitedly:

"Do you want to consider coming to [Judgment Tower]? As a teaching assistant, I still have a teaching position!

The early resources will be borne by the tower, and with this alone, you can surpass those born in the same period!"

Hero was still immersed in the concept of safe zones that Mena had just explained.

It seems that the transmission of [Gate] is very confusing. If you want to ensure the safety of your life, you have to waste time and go through the official channel.

Setting up a [private door] is very convenient, but you have to pay a fee, and safety cannot be guaranteed.

Suddenly Mena asked him about the choice of mentor and tower, and he was a little unable to react.

After breaking free from Mena's hand, Hero asked rationally:

"What kind of soul circuit does [Judgment Tower] need?"

If the system requirements are not met, there is no need to consider a tutor.

"That's right, you haven't awakened the soul circuit yet, and you are excited. This time you failed in the semester mission, and it may be impossible to improve your position in the short term. Fortunately, the tower mission gives you enough resources."

Hero felt that this was Mena's original character.

Magician apprentices are consumables in the tower, and most magicians only care about their own interests when they go on missions.

You need to be more vigilant when stepping out of the tower in the future. The fatal danger is often not the unknown ahead, but the evil people around you.

Approaching the high slope, Hero saw many wooden doors stuck in the ground.

Each door has a different pattern. Every time someone enters the door, the pattern on the door will change.

"Hold my hand. The target point on the opposite side can only be known when the [door] is closed. When you get there, don't get lost, or you will never see me again in this life."

.....

This was the first time that Hero saw the true face of the imperial capital [Terra].

The extremely wide, clean stone streets are lined with magnificent Western-style buildings.

Children running with bread, street clowns breathing fire, minstrels wearing masks... The streets of the entire imperial capital were crowded with people, bustling and noisy.

For the sudden appearance of the two people, the surrounding pedestrians did not show any surprise or surprise, and seemed to have become accustomed to it.

Hero saw the dressing style of the residents here, the restaurants set up in the street buildings, and the food stalls across the road.

It made him think he was back in reality, but it was really like the streets of London.

But then a roaring dragon flew overhead, drawing a stream of air through the clouds.

The snow-white lion galloped by, its silver mane swaying in the wind.

The appearance of the soul beast brought him back to reality.

"I'll take you to awaken the soul circuit. Seeing how smoothly you use my piercing rune, I think you might be the apprentice seed of [Judgment Tower]!"

The mark on Mena's neck flickered, and the giant scorpion 'Entu' waving its pincers emerged from the illusory space.

He raised his head to face the sky, opened his ferocious mouthparts, and made the unique buzzing sound of an insect. After venting his anger, he lowered his head.

On the streets of the imperial capital, Mena did not let it show its complete body.

The appropriate body shape allows Mena and Hero to sit on the back armor.

Paddling his scorpion legs, Entu quickly crawled on the stone bricks.

Along the way, Helo had seen no less than a hundred soul beasts, and he had become accustomed to this.

At the beginning, his reaction was even worse than that of a pedestrian in God City. He couldn't help but exclaim when he saw a strange and novel spirit beast.

Pedestrians in the Imperial City are very conscious. Generally, the walking and living areas are on both sides of the street, and the wide area in the middle is opened to provide convenience for spirit beasts and magicians.

And Hero, who stepped on Entu, also understood Mena's original words.

"The [Holy Land Tower] is the real pillar holding up the empire!"

No houses obstruct the view of the distant skyline.

He saw...

Thirteen pillars that rise from the ground and rush into the sky without reaching the top are truly the pillars of the empire in the literal sense, and the visual effect really supports the entire sky.

Even though he was far away, Hero was still extremely shocked by the miracle of the Holy Land Tower.
