Chapter 37 Cotton Clothes

Within two days, news came from Yan Bugui that there was someone in Guanzhuang Village on the outskirts of the country who could make leather coats and was a good hand among them. Du Yun went there with the deer skin.

Arriving at Guanzhuang Village, at the entrance of the village, several children were playing a game of eagle catching chicks.

Looking at them, Du Yun couldn't help but think that when he was a child, he often played eagle and chicken with his companions. Unfortunately, as he grew older, he had not played this game for more than ten years.

Stopping the car in front of a few people, Du Yun asked, "Children, do you know how to make deerskin clothes here?"

"What leather jacket?"

"It's about making leather into clothes."

Several children looked at each other and shook their heads, saying no, they had never heard of it.

"I've already asked about it, how can you say no."

"We only make cloth. I have never heard of anyone making leather clothes."

Du Yun wondered whether the information Yan Bugui had gathered was accurate. He clearly said that he was making leather clothes, so how come he got here and was told that he was making cloth?

"Can you please take me there to have a look?"

"But I still have to play with my friends."

Although he said so, his eyes were fixed on the candy in his hand. Du Yun was helpless, are you doing this for fun? You are clearly doing this for it.

He took out a handful of candies from his pocket and gave them to him.

"That's it."

"Okay, okay, we'll take you there."

A few chirping children led him over to a location near the mountain in the village. There was a yard at the outermost edge of the village.

Du Yun was surprised to see several pieces of cloth floating in the wind, apparently being dried.

This is not an ordinary cloth, but a kind of cloth with blue background and white flowers. It is green and white, with figures, flowers and birds on it, and it looks very beautiful.

"Uncle Sun, come out quickly, someone is here to buy cloth."

Uncle Sun came out of the room when he heard the noise. He was a middle-aged man in his forties or fifties with an unshaven beard. Only his eyes that rolled around showed that this man was not an easy person.

I glanced at a few children, then saw Du Yun standing next to me, and knew that he should be the one who came to buy cloth.

Uncle Sun came over to say hello, and then said, "You're late, I no longer make blue calico."

"What's the use of keeping these pieces of cloth? Your family probably won't need so much."

"I keep this for myself."

Du Yun knew clearly that he didn't dare, or that he didn't know what he did, so why should he sell it to you?

Now that the country has begun to issue cloth stamps and cotton stamps, the situation is unclear. For someone like him who has no background but makes cloth, who knows what to do.

It's okay to sell the cloth to you, but it won't be bad luck if you turn around and sue him.

"Actually, I'm not here to buy cloth."

"You are here to investigate. I will never sell the cloth to others."

Du Yun had no choice but to take out his purchase certificate and hand it to him.

A smile suddenly appeared on Uncle Sun's face, as long as they didn't come to trouble him.

Now after the cloth is made according to regulations, it must be sent to a unified department for sale.

He only has the right to produce, not to sell.

Of course, this is the case, but the actual operation depends on yourself.

Blue calico is made of white cotton.

Who knows how much white cloth he had before deciding to sell it collectively.

After the white cloth that has been concealed is made, it can be retailed and sold to others, but to prevent problems, he will not sell it to outsiders.

He planned to keep these pieces of cloth for himself.

"If you don't want to buy cloth, why are you here?"

Du Yun pointed to the five deerskins at the back of the car.

"I went up to the mountain and shot five deer. I wanted to use the five deer skins to make clothes. Who knows, but someone also found out that someone in Guanzhuang Village knew how to make leather clothes and came here to ask for help."

It sounds good, but it's a pity that he doesn't know how to make leather clothes, but makes cloth.

These are two different concepts.

Uncle Sun stepped forward to check the deerskin and saw a lot of rabbit skins besides deerskin behind the car seat.

"Did you hunt it yourself or buy it? The quantity is quite large, enough to make a leather coat for you."

"I'm not thinking about getting two pieces of clothing to wear, otherwise the winter will be too cold and I won't be able to stand it."

This is true. In the winter in the north, dripping water turns into ice. When it is cold, the rivers will freeze, and people can skate on them.

There is a place dedicated to skating in Sijiucheng.

When the cold north wind blows, not to mention humans, even hares can sometimes freeze, so of course they need warm clothes.

"I do know someone who can make leather jackets, and I can introduce him to you."

"Thank you, Uncle Sun."

Uncle Sun took him there, and Yan Bugui inquired well. There was indeed someone in Guanzhuang Village who knew how to make leather jackets, but it was not him, but a hunter in the village.

He makes a living by hunting in the mountains, and his wife uses the skins she skins to make clothes and other items.

The two went over to knock on the door and explain the situation, and the other party enthusiastically led him in.

Du Yun saw that he had several made gloves and hats at home, and it was obvious that her craftsmanship was good, so there was no problem for her to make them.

I discussed it with him and asked him to help make leather jackets.

Deer skin can be used to make upper and lower clothing, and rabbit skin can be used to make rabbit skin hats, rabbit skin gloves, and rabbit skin shoes.

These are all his own. As for He Yuzhu and He Yuyu, a set of cotton clothes and trousers is already good. How can I prepare everything for him?

You can be kind to him, but you can't do it without a bottom line.

"No problem, it's just that it's not easy to make and it takes a while."

"How long does it take? I'll come and get it."

After agreeing on half a month, Du Yun said goodbye and left, waiting for half a month to come back to pick up his deerskin coat.

Going back with Uncle Sun, Du Yun became interested again when he saw the pieces of cloth being dried.

Different from the current machine-dyed cloth, blue calico is made by hand, and the patterns on it are characters, flowers and birds, which look very beautiful.

"Uncle Sun, these pieces of cloth you made are pretty good."

"What are you doing?"

"Doesn't this look good? Are you willing to sell it?"

"This is for your own use, not for sale."

It’s strange that Du Yun would believe it, you clearly don’t want to give it to me.

If someone doesn't give it, what can you do to him? It seems that we have to wait until later.

After making another purchase in Guanzhuang Village and purchasing a bunch of things, Du Yun returned to the steel rolling mill.

He went out to do the shopping during working hours, and he also negotiated the leather jacket production.

So that you can wear warm leather jackets in winter.

Within two days, the aunt made the cotton-padded clothes and brought them over to let them see how they looked.

"The cotton coat has been made, how about you try it?"

He Yuzhu and the two took over the cotton-padded clothes and trousers very excitedly. The brand-new cotton-padded clothes looked so beautiful.

Du Yun smiled and said, "Brother Zhuzi, don't look at it, quickly put it on and try it on."

"Okay, okay, okay."

The two of them were so excited that they could not speak. They nodded repeatedly and ran into the house to change into cotton-padded clothes before coming out.
