Chapter 29 Taoism

Zhang Lingjun didn't know what the concubine was thinking, so he reached out and picked up "Ding Zhen Lu" from the bookcase below, opened it, took out a photo from the gap in the book, turned around and handed it over.

"This is a photo that an archaeologist happened to capture when the underground palace was first opened. I spent a lot of money to get it."

The concubine took it and took a look, only to see that the photo was full of a strange and vital scene, a weird but harmonious and vibrant natural scene that was different from the natural ecology that people recognized.

It is exactly what was described before, but it is not as magnificent and intoxicating as what Zhang Lingjun said the archaeologists saw with their own eyes.

Perhaps due to technical reasons, the photos did not show their true appearance. They were dark blue, as if they had been specially lit, which made people feel an inexplicable sense of disgust and fear.

It may also be because the focus of the photo is not on the huge mushrooms of various heights and shapes, but on the mushrooms surrounded by this very different ecology, or in other words, surrounded by a mushroom carpet that is only covered with fungi, like an altar.

, and it seems to be just a simple open space, or to be more precise, it is the Taoist priest sitting cross-legged in the altar whose skeleton has become extremely surprised and has become terrifying and abominable.

I don’t know how many years have passed, but it still looks lifelike. The layers of fat on its body are piled together, as if it is full of blessings. It is so plump that you can vaguely feel the fat in it, as if it is still alive.

His body was simply wrapped in a vaguely visible Taoist robe of extremely ancient style.

The monk's robe has become rotten, covered with mushrooms and plaque, and is full of holes and cracks.

Through the holes in the robe, you can see that some of the crevices on the body have turned black and rotten. You can see red feathers that give a strange and ominous atmosphere growing on the rotten parts. They seem to be the legendary feathers.

Traces.

The Taoist's two fat arms and stubby fingers on both hands were tied in knots in front of his body in a posture that was impossible with the normal human skeleton and muscle structure, and he was holding an unknown method, as if it might be slapped out at any time.

I don’t know if it’s because he’s dead or because he was so ferocious before he died, but his movements are inexplicably weird and disgusting.

Looking up, the head is completely occupied by fat. It is full in the true sense of the world. It no longer looks like it should have normally. It is like a fat pimple with no facial features or seven orifices.

The front face can only be distinguished from the direction of the body and the birthmark on the face that extends all the way to the head. It seems that it is not a birthmark, but black moss or some unknown substance. It also seems to be a terrifying rune, a Taoist secret.

The supreme unspoken secret.

The top of the head is bare, with a purple nasturtium crown. I don’t know because too much time has passed, or for some reason, the purple nasturtium crown has fallen off slightly, and it does not fit the top of the head completely. Then through the gap in between, you can see the bottom of the crown.

There is a wedge connected to the top of the head, as if it is nailed directly to the top of the head and inserted into the skull.

There was a black liquid, as thick as mud, seeping out from the gap, as if it contained mud instead of blood.

You can't see where the eyes are, but you can inexplicably feel a gaze coming from the layers of fat meatballs.

You can feel the weird smile on that face at this time.

You can feel it even through the photo.

It makes people feel a little hairy in their hearts.

After reading it, the concubine couldn't help but turn the photo upside down and handed it to Zhang Lingjun again, saying: "The Taoist body has not decayed for thousands of years. It is indeed very strange.

"But this cannot be said to be necessarily related to any real traditional medicine or unknown technology.

"I think it's more because - if the photo is real, the photo itself or the scenes in it are not made by technology, and the body of the Taoist remains the same as it was in the past, it may be because the body is in contact with the fungal ecological environment that evolved due to special circumstances.

Because they are integrated into one.

"It may look like it still retains vitality, and the body has not decayed or changed at all. In essence, it may no longer be flesh and blood, but has been replaced by something else.

"It has become a petri dish for fungi.

"That body shape is not like that of ordinary people. It is a shape that is difficult to achieve even with disease and deformity. It is even more difficult to achieve in ancient times. Those feathers may be related to this. Although they still maintain a certain original shape, they have a certain

Transform.

"At the same time, this may be the reason why people instantly disappear after being disturbed after seeing them. This explanation is more reasonable and scientific."

Zhang Lingjun placed the photo in the same place, shook his head and said: "I feel like there are Taoist priests who practice, and they have some technology that transcends reality.

"One or two points can be said to be coincidences, but so many coincidences piled together cannot be coincidences..."

The concubine looked at him: "You feel, didn't you just say that we still need to provide evidence..."

Zhang Lingjun said: "I am making a reasonable guess based on certain facts. It is based on facts and logic. I have a lot of facts and then feel it. It is not a feeling out of thin air.

"Besides, there is no absolute logical cause and effect in this world.

"The essence of causal logic is just a small and abstract concept for human beings to understand the world."

The concubine shook her head: "Okay, you can do whatever you think. But the problem is, even if it is certain that Zhang Huaisu has some kind of supernatural power, he may have the real traditional medicine that you need that can save your life.

"How can you get the inheritance you want from this ancient Taoist who has been dead for more than 1,000 years and has been completely wiped out?"

Zhang Lingjun said: "Where did Zhang Huaisu's magical powers come from? There must be a source. It cannot appear out of thin air."

The concubine asked: "Do you know?"

Zhang Lingjun said: "Thanks to the fame of "The Story of the Valley God", more and more research materials about Zhang Huaisu are being mined by major enthusiasts. The relevant traces he left behind, the things he did, the people related to him, and the people he knew

The character, his description, evaluation, and information are very complete in all aspects.

I once heard about a short story related to this from an Indian history lover of "Ceres" which he found in the National Library of Bombay.

The story is called "Tao Xue" and was written by one of Zhang Huaisu's apprentices in his later years.

This disciple's surname was Zhang. He originally came from a family near Tianbao Palace. He became a monk in Tianbao Palace when he was young. However, the strange thing is that he only became a monk for three years and then returned to secular life. From then on, he stayed away from the talk of ghosts and gods and devoted himself to studying the books of sages.

, and finally obtained the imperial examination and became a scholar.

This identity is not the reason why the story was left behind and is collected by national libraries.
