426 Soldiers to Moscow

Preparations for the attack on Russia had begun last winter, but by the time the Foreign Legion set off, it was already the end of April 1919.

In fact, the Russian Civil War is also divided into the Eastern Front and the Western Front. The Western Front is the army led by Denikin and Yudenich, while the Eastern Front is the Provisional Government Army led by Kolchak.

In order to distinguish them from the Russian Bolshevik army, we temporarily call the army led by Kolchak the White Army.

It is slightly different from the original history. In order to wait for Qin Zhiyuan's final decision, Kolchak's troops have not launched an attack yet. The Russian Bolsheviks are also accumulating strength. They are all waiting for Qin Zhiyuan's decision.

Waiting to see if the Foreign Legion will join the war.

This will be a force that can change the balance of power on the battlefield.

At the end of April, the Foreign Legion in France set off from its stations such as Reims and Capi, and stationed in Lublin, Poland, via Germany, preparing to launch an attack on Moscow.

At the same time, the first echelon of Lanfang's Northern Expedition Corps also began to board the ship. Under the escort of the French Far East Fleet and the British Far East Fleet, they headed north in batches to prepare for the attack on Vladivostok and Sakhalin Island.

To be honest, given the bad relationship between Lanfang and Japan, Qin Zhiyuan really did not dare to let the cruise ships carrying troops pass through the Taiwan Strait and Tsushima Strait without the escort of the British and French fleets.

God knows whether the Japanese will repeat the Mediterranean incident. If the Japanese are determined to avenge the Sixth Division, Qin Zhiyuan does not want to risk the lives of the soldiers.

In fact, Vladivostok is basically in a state of no protection now.

Because of the isolation of the Provisional Government, the Bolsheviks in Moscow had no jurisdiction over Vladivostok, and the Provisional Government had given up the Far East including Vladivostok and Sakhalin. The Northern Expedition was not so much about fighting as it was about receiving.

Compared to the Northern Expedition, the Foreign Legion faces much greater pressure.

The direction of the Foreign Legion's advance is Lublin. From here, it is about 1,100 kilometers away from Moscow.

Just when the Foreign Legion was heading to Lublin, Anton Ivanovich Denikin, who was originally stationed in Poland, launched an early attack and had already captured Kiev. From here, he attacked in the direction of Moscow. The terrain was flat and smooth, which was most conducive to the Foreign Legion.

The tank force showed its strength.

The Foreign Legion entering Russia totaled 100,000 people. They were divided into four divisions, starting from Kiev, along Kursk Tula, and directly attacked Moscow.

By the way, the Foreign Legion was the main force attacking Moscow, and Denikin and Kolchak were only responsible for cooperating with the attack. This was part of the original plan.

There is no way. In the World War I that just passed, the performance of the Russian army was really poor. Qin Zhiyuan did not believe in the combat effectiveness of the Russian army, and Clemenceau did not believe it either. Even Kolchak and Denikin did not believe it.

Do not believe.

Otherwise, Kolchak and Denikin would not have waited for the Foreign Legion and would have started attacking Moscow long ago.

Attacking Moscow can be seen as a sign in the battle to attack Russia. If Russia is captured, it will unexpectedly mean that Russia has failed, and it will have an unparalleled psychological blow to the Russians.

Therefore, whether it was Napoleon or Hitler, their ultimate goal was to capture Russia, and the same was true for Qin Zhiyuan.

The Third Division of the Foreign Legion is the vanguard of the Foreign Legion. The main body of the troops is composed of Chinese and Germans.

The World War had just ended, and the Allied Powers had too much military supplies to deal with. Therefore, the equipment of the Foreign Legion was fully supplied, and the ratio of artillery and heavy machine guns was even more insane than before.

In the current Foreign Legion, 120 mm caliber artillery has been equipped to the regiment level, and heavy machine guns have been equipped to the platoon level. Each squad has two Lewis machine guns, and its firepower density ranks among the best in the world.

The Third Division is the front-line unit of the Foreign Legion, and the Seventh Regiment is the front-line unit of the Third Division. Specifically, the front end of the entire front is the First Company of the First Battalion of the Seventh Regiment.

Company commander Chen Yongfu is from Cangzhou, Hebei, and is a fellow villager with Qin Zhiyuan. This is considered a senior qualification, but it is a pity that he followed Qin Yunpeng at first, and later transferred to Qin Zhiyuan. He also made several mistakes in the Battle of Reims, so he got mixed up.

He is now a company commander.

Although his official position was only a company commander and his military rank was only a captain, when it came to combat, Chen Yongfu had very rich experience. Starting from the spring offensive in 1917, Chen Yongfu participated in almost all the battles of the Foreign Legion. He was a standard professional soldier.

I heard that you also made a mistake and were sent down. In the command car, Chen Yongfu slumped on the sofa and asked Zheng Jing.

Because the Foreign Legion has enough supplies, armored vehicles have been equipped to the company level. As the company commander, Chen Yongfu can naturally commandeer one as a command vehicle.

Zheng Jing was also known as Zheng Daling incognito. Although Zheng Dali did not actually shoot him that day, he gave him a good beating and then was thrown directly into the Foreign Legion. If he managed to get ahead, he was considered lucky, but if he didn't, he deserved it.

Hearing Chen Yongfu's question, Zheng Jing raised his eyes but did not answer. Perhaps Chen Yongfu's words touched him again, otherwise, he probably didn't even react.

Damn it, I look forward to it every day, every night, just give me such a stuffy gourd, you won't say a damn thing. Chen Yongfu couldn't stand Zheng Jing's dead look, so he just kicked him.

kick

Yes, the Foreign Legion does not prohibit corporal punishment. On the contrary, many officers tend to encourage it. They believe that this is an effective way to quickly close the relationship between officers and soldiers.

Zheng Jing was nominally the deputy commander of the first company, and could be regarded as Chen Yongfu's partner. Of course Chen Yongfu also hoped to have a good relationship with Zheng Jing, but Chen Yongfu had already given up on the journey from Paris to Kiev.

Sure enough, Zheng Jing didn't react at all to Chen Yongfu's violent behavior. He didn't even bother to dust off his thighs and just kept silently away from Chen Yongfu.

Damn it, if Chen Yongfu hadn't been so worried about looking up to the gods, he would have wanted to yell at God.

Bang bang tied

There was a strong slapping sound from the armored vehicle door. It didn't sound like it was with hands, but more like a stone or a gun butt.

Sir, there is Lyubimovka ahead, we are going to camp. A rough voice came from outside the armored vehicle.

Chen Yongfu pushed open the car door vigorously, jumped out and was beaten and kicked: Damn Carlvon, how many times have I told you not to destroy public property? Why don't you have any sense of public morality? Is your pitiful salary enough to compensate you?

Various cheers and strange screams came from the marching team, mixed with Chen Yongfu's curses and Carl von's begging for mercy, which was very lifelike.

Carl von is the platoon leader of the first platoon. He is a veteran from Germany with seven years of military experience. His real name is Carl von Dunlop. It is said that the von in the middle of his name means that Carl von was born in a noble family, but he was in the Foreign Legion.

But no one cared about this, which could be heard from the soldiers' jeering and booing.

Sir, this is an act of corporal punishment. I want to complain to the regiment commander that you, Carlvon, are not willing to show weakness. Although you hold your head and hit you casually, you refuse to admit defeat.

The relationship between Chinese soldiers and German soldiers is very strange. Perhaps their performance as opponents made them admire each other. Therefore, after the reconstruction of the Foreign Legion, when these Germans joined the Foreign Legion, the Chinese and Germans quickly integrated together.

, the degree of harmonious relationship is surprising.

Hey, you still dare to complain to me, I will definitely teach you Chen Yongfu a lesson.

Although Chen Yongfu was beaten and scolded, he actually had a very good relationship with Carl von. Carl von was one of the few people in the First Company who could speak French. Because of his experience in the Foreign Legion prison camp, he could actually speak a few words in Chinese.

, this is a rare person with whom Chen Yongfu can communicate in the army.

There was no way, in the entire first company, only two people, Chen Yongfu and Zheng Jing, were Chinese, and Zheng Jing was a dull talker. You can imagine how much Chen Yongfu wanted to have someone to communicate with.

Just as the two were having fun and a group of soldiers were watching the fun, a familiar whistling sound suddenly came from the sky.

Immediately after the bombardment, someone screamed heartbreakingly.

Everyone present was a veteran. They had experienced at least one or two years of war, so they naturally knew how to deal with artillery attacks.

When they heard the shells roaring in the air, almost everyone squatted down and opened their mouths in tacit understanding. The rest was up to God's arrangement.

Chen Yongfu suddenly remembered Zheng Jing in the armored vehicle and immediately jumped up and rushed towards the armored vehicle.

Chen, be careful of Carl Von's reminder.

There are only two armored vehicles in the first company, and then there are five trucks. There is an obvious problem. If the Russians want to shell, the armored vehicles will definitely be the first target, then the trucks, and finally the infantry.

So just when the whistling sound just started, the soldiers on the truck had already jumped off the truck to escape, and all the vehicles began to maneuver in an S-shape to avoid being directly hit by the shells.

Fortunately, those Russians don't have heavy artillery.

Come on, you're going to fucking die here. In the armored car, Chen Yongfu grabbed Zheng Jing's collar and pulled him out. When he walked to the door of the car, he simply kicked Zheng Jing out.

Zheng Jing still didn't respond. He rolled twice on the ground, sat on the ground holding his knees and stared at the flames and smoke caused by the explosion of the shell in a daze.

Don't sit down, squat down. Chen Yongfu didn't kick him this time, probably because he would be more seriously injured if he was kicked down.

At this time, Chen Yongfu and Zheng Jing were surrounded by a sea of fire.

The shells streaked through the air, making a heart-rending scream, followed by a deafening explosion.

Every time an explosion sounds, it will be accompanied by black and red flames and gunpowder smoke. The ground will shake violently, and people will feel like they are standing on a drum with no roots. Then all kinds of things will crackle and fall from the air.

The earth stirred up by the exploding shells also contained the broken limbs of the unlucky man.

It's like hell

To be continued.
