448 Disillusionment

Since the war started, Liu Zizheng and Greif's headquarters moved forward for the first time and were located in Omuir where the war had just stopped.

It was already mid-June. The 100,000 Russians in the encirclement did not put up much resistance and almost all surrendered.

To be honest, when facing the threat of death, the Russians did not show much bravery. Even though the Russians still had an army of nearly 100,000 people and still had a certain ability to resist, the Russians still surrendered collectively, without much

hesitate.

The Russian nation is very strange. They do not lack blood, but they are also cowardly at heart. When the situation seems to be irreversible, the Russians have no determination to rather live in pieces than in ruins. It is normal to surrender.

Think about it, in the early days of World War II in another time and space, the Russians also surrendered on a large scale many times, with hundreds of thousands of people each time.

The scene was truly spectacular.

Liu Zizheng and Ge Lifu have now witnessed this spectacular scene.

The endless team of prisoners, numb and mechanical, ragged, lifeless, hopeless, and faithless, just followed the crowd and dragged themselves to the Omuir train station, taking the train to the unknown distance.

Among the prisoners of war, there are Foreign Legion soldiers with arms in cuffs and armed escorts. They will be responsible for getting these prisoners of war safely onto the train.

After being put on the train, it was the Secret Service personnel who took over the work. These spies would ensure that the prisoners of war were emotionally stable on the train, and then after half a month of long journey, they would go from Samuel to Vladivostok.

Well, this distance is almost from the starting point to the end point of the Trans-Siberian Railway. When the Russians built this, they certainly didn't expect that it would now be used to transport Russian prisoners of war.

Judging from their appearance, I don't think they are very capable. Xu Sheng, commander of the Third Division of the Foreign Legion, looked gloomy.

In this battle, Xu Sheng's troops suffered heavy losses, which made Xu Sheng unhappy no matter what.

Of course, great losses also mean great achievements. Chen Yongfu was Xu Sheng's subordinate. In this battle, the companies of Chen Yongfu and Zheng Jing took the greatest credit.

No matter what, it is no longer something we have to worry about now. Lao Chen wants people, and we have got them. How useful they can be depends on Lao Chen’s ability. Liu Zizheng is not worried. The current war is going smoothly. Liu Zizheng

Be in a good mood.

After crossing the Oka River and heading towards Moscow, Liu Zizheng rotated his troops, broke out towards Ankang's 4th Division, and began to advance towards Moscow.

There were differences between the Foreign Legion and the South Russian armed forces on whether to attack immediately.

Liu Zizheng wanted to go straight to Huanglong and capture Russia before Moscow and Yudenich could decide the winner. In that case, the Russian Bolsheviks would retain some of their strength and not be exhausted.

Denikin wanted to reap the benefits and wait until both the Bolsheviks and Yudenich Kolchak were harmed, and then Denikin would step in to clean up the mess.

Denikin was unable to defeat Liu Zizheng in the end, because Liu Zizheng also wanted to return to China early to attend Qin Zhiyuan's enthronement ceremony.

The result of the stalemate is an immediate attack on Russia. Regardless of whether the South Russian armed forces participate or not, the Foreign Legion must advance quickly.

Yudenich's troops lost again yesterday, and they are about to be driven back to Estonia. I estimate that the Russians will target us next, and we must be prepared. Xu Sheng reported the intelligence just obtained.

Moscow has too much to take care of itself. We may not be the next target. From the map, Vladimir is much closer to Moscow than Cherny. Liu Zizheng is not in a hurry.

Although Liu Zizheng's offensive attitude was resolute, Liu Zizheng controlled the speed of advancement very well.

While the Foreign Legion continues to move north, Kolchak's troops are also advancing westward. Now Kolchak's forward troops have advanced to Vladimir, which is farther from Moscow than Cherny, which the Foreign Legion just occupied.

close.

Our troops and Kolchak's troops are now less than 200 kilometers away from Moscow. Although our distance is farther, our troops have more tanks and the roads are smoother. In terms of threat, we are better than Kolchak.

The threat from Russia is greater, so I feel that Moscow will regard us as its next target. Xu Sheng has different opinions.

That's just right, they were completely destroyed and Griffith rarely spoke.

Lao Ge, you are too violent. Don't forget yesterday's telegram from the headquarters. From now on, we should shift our target to raiding. After all, we are mercenaries. The sanctimonious Liu Zizheng also has a dark heart.

Bored Greif cursed angrily, turned around and walked towards his car.

As a soldier, Greif is relatively pure.

Greif hates everything that has nothing to do with war. He has no interest in anything like massacre, robbery, arson, or anything that goes against the will of women. Greif just wants to destroy all the enemies in front of him.

Of course, not everyone thinks so, such as Chen Yongfu.

Chen Yongfu's troops made great achievements in this battle. It is conceivable that they will definitely receive awards, and of course bonuses are indispensable.

But before they get the bonus, Chen Yongfu and the others now have a chance to make a fortune.

Due to heavy casualties in previous battles, Chen Yongfu's 3rd Division was adjusted to a rearguard unit and is still stationed in Omuir.

Omuir is the capital of Omuir State. As the seat of government, it is obviously quite prosperous. At least in Chen Yongfu's view, it is quite prosperous, like a huge treasure house to be developed.

The reason why war is criticized is that it is accompanied by countless acts of violence, even if it is a national civil war.

Just like the current Omuir, the soldiers of the Foreign Legion can still maintain a certain degree of restraint, but the Russians of the South Russian Armed Forces act arbitrarily.

The Foreign Legion and the South Russian armed forces are all crowded in the city of Omuir, and they must be stationed in different areas. The side where the Foreign Legion is stationed can barely maintain social order, but the side where the South Russian armed forces are stationed is in complete chaos.

.

Robbery, rape, shooting, and arson are almost daily occurrences in the areas controlled by the armed forces of South Russia.

Denikin had no intention of interfering with the atrocities committed by the troops, as if this was the power that the soldiers of Denikin's troops should obtain. However, the residents of Omuir City were numb. Except for some people who took advantage of the chaos to escape to the areas controlled by the Foreign Legion, the rest

There was almost no resistance and the soldiers of the South Russian armed forces were allowed to do whatever they wanted.

Everything seems to be justified.

The tyranny of the South Russian armed forces inevitably spread to the side where the Foreign Legion was stationed. Although many soldiers of the Foreign Legion did not openly commit murder or arson, it was inevitable that they would use violence and coercion to make a small fortune.

Of course, shooting and rape are absolutely impossible in the Foreign Legion. This is expressly prohibited. If someone dares to violate it, the punishment will make him regret it.

Even so, after a few days, almost everyone in the Foreign Legion made a small fortune.

The post office is the busiest. There are countless parcels sent to Lanfang, France, Germany, and many of them are huge boxes with high value preservation prices.

Liu Zizheng and Greif knew about these situations, but did not interfere with them.

There is no way to interfere, this is part of the war, and it cannot be stopped even in the 21st century.

Look at this, a diamond-encrusted gold pocket watch, tsk tsk, if this was taken back to the Republic of China, it would be worth a hundred dollars. In the officer's dormitory of a hotel, Chen Yongfu was busy showing off to Zheng Jing.

Chen Yongfu had a handful of necklaces hanging around his neck, and three or four pocket watch chains on his chest. He even held an emerald pipe with precious stones in his hand, which looked nondescript.

It's not worth it. It's not a diamond, it's crystal, it's gold-plated. Zheng Jing took it and played with it for a while, then threw it back to Chen Yongfu.

Zheng Jing was carrying a watch at night. This was of course one of the trophies, and it was the earliest model launched by Cartier. If this happened thirty to fifty years later, everything on Chen Yongfu's body would not be as good as what Zheng Jing had on his wrist.

This watch is valuable.

Having shared life and death together for so many days, Zheng Jing no longer puts on a dead face at all times. He eats and drinks when he should, but he still talks less and hardly communicates with anyone except Chen Yongfu.

Compared with the original stuffed gourd, it's pretty good now, at least Chen Yongfu is quite satisfied.

Oh no, that means I was deceived again. Chen Yongfu was immediately furious.

again

Well, this isn't the first time.

It doesn’t count as being cheated. Even if it’s not diamonds or gold, it should still be worth a hundred dollars. Zheng Jing affirmed with ridicule at the same time.

Even if those diamonds and gold are not that valuable, this is still a pocket watch, and its own value is there. Even if it is difficult to sell in Europe, it will not be difficult to return to Lanfang. If you get it in the Republic of China, well, it will cost a hundred and ten dollars.

There is still a little less to say.

That's fine, it's worth the effort. Chen Yongfu was immediately satisfied. He is actually very easy to be satisfied. He doesn't have much ambition. Such a person is actually easy to get along with.

There are a few guys from South Russia setting up stalls at the street corner every day, saying they are exchanging souvenirs. Why don't you go and see Chen Yongfu's temptation.

Zheng Jing's answer was concise and to the point.

If you don't go, I will. I have to go hunting for some more gold and go home to make a gold lock weighing one pound for my son. Chen Yongfu has an ideal.

One pound weight

There is no fear of stunted growth.

Zheng Jing ignored Chen Yongfu. He didn't value these external things.

Just after Chen Yongfu walked out of the room, gunfire rang out again in the area controlled by the South Russian armed forces not far away, and then smoke could be seen rising.

Needless to say, soldiers from the South Russian armed forces were committing the murder again.

Zheng Jing felt the chill rising from the bottom of his heart. He stood in front of the window holding his shoulders and looked at the smoke in the distance and pondered for a long time.

The ideal I once had is as hazy as the smoke in front of my eyes, and I can no longer see it clearly.

To be continued.
