Chapter 23 The Breeze in the Dark Night

Kuroki Jin looked at the blank text message and fell into deep thought.

He was thinking, in this world, maybe someone calling someone and not saying anything is considered a threat, but what is sending a blank text message to someone without writing anything?

Take a look at the notes, Shirley.

Because of Gin, Kuroki Jin was concerned about Shirley's matter. He was afraid that the other party had something important to do before he could explain it and sent a text message to warn him, so he called back the phone and rushed into the car to start the car.

Base.

Fortunately, Shirley moved to another place. It was not very far from his home (residential home, not a candy store), and it only took fifteen minutes if he was on the speeding line.

The car had already driven two meters before Shirley on the other side picked up the phone.

"What's wrong? What's the matter?" Kuroki Ren asked quickly, "No matter what happens, just hold on tight. I'll be there in fifteen minutes."

Shirley: "..."

"No, I'm fine." Shirley's cold voice came, "I'm just in a bad mood. I accidentally clicked on the text message you sent before when I was looking at my phone. I mistakenly clicked on the reply and when I wanted to quit, I clicked on send."

Kuroki Ren: "..."

"In a bad mood?"

Silence on the other side.

"It's not convenient to talk on the phone. I'm already on the way anyway. Let's talk in person." Kuroki Ren didn't give her a chance to refuse, "I hung up."

Shirley, who was lying on the bed in the dormitory of the institute, looked at the hung up call helplessly, and immediately jumped out of bed after reacting.

She's still wearing pajamas!

Kuroki drove the car very fast. There were fewer cars on the road at night, and he soon arrived at a private hospital. Kuroki knew that this was the latest research institute that Shirley had moved to, with the base code name r018.

After parking the car, Kuroki looked around and tentatively walked in. He found that the internal structure was similar to that of a normal hospital, and he easily found the door.

The door was closed. After all, it was already late at night. It was normal for private hospitals not to open their doors. Kuroki looked around and found the time card machine used by hospital employees to clock in for work. After swiping their ID cards, the door was indeed opened.

It seems that this place and the branch base share the same system. Kuroki Ren thought as he pushed the door open and went in, and saw Shirley in a white coat standing opposite him.

"...Scared me." Kuroki Ren smiled, "Go for a walk?" He pointed to the door that had not been closed.

Shirley nodded. Seeing that she wanted to go out just like that, Kuroki Ren stopped her with a smile, "Let's change your clothes. Kuroki, your outfit is too conspicuous."

Although Shirley didn't think it was necessary, seeing that Kuroki Jin had come all the way and it wouldn't be troublesome to change into a coat, she nodded, went back to get a black windbreaker and put it on, and after thinking about it, she reached for it again.

hat.

"That's fine." Kuroki Ren stopped her, "Let's go, I'll take you for a ride."

"..." Shirley thought that when she saw Kuroki Jin's car, she was really looking down on Kuroki.

She hesitated as she ran to the garage. When she saw a row of motorcycles, Shirley's face was blank.

"Can you ride?" Kuroki Jin threw a helmet to her.

"Learned it." Shirley nodded, looked at the cars and quickly picked one.

"You have good taste, Harley FXSTI, I personally think it looks better than the new fat-boy."

Kuroki picked one at random and bought all the cars here after he fell in love with them. Although there were no big brands or cars as old as Gin, he liked every one of them.<

"The microphone is turned on in the helmet. If you want to say something you don't want me to know, remember to turn it off. The button is under the inner ear." Kuroki Jin put on the helmet and said in a normal voice: "Can you hear me? Shirley."
"I heard it." Shirley's voice came through the headset. Kuroki smiled and stretched out his left hand to make an OK gesture to her. "Let's go then."

With a few buzzing sounds, the motorcycle drove out of the garage, and after a few turns, it gradually began to accelerate. Kuroki Ren kept paying attention to Shirley following him. The night wind was slightly cooler, so Kuroki opened his mask and let the wind blow on his face.

Up.

After driving a long distance, Kuroki got out of the car and bought two bottles of drinks and came back, throwing one to Shirley.

"Are you feeling better?"

"Not bad." The corners of Shirley's mouth rose. Although it was not as bright as Kuroki Jin's smile, she was smiling after all.

"Then it's not in vain." Kuroki Ren laughed, and after thinking about it he asked: "Are there any difficulties in research?"

Shirley's smile disappeared, but she still said: "It's an experimental product."

"The dead one?"

"No." She looked calmly, "The new one will arrive soon."

Seeing Kuroki Jin's puzzled expression, Shirley continued: "A gangster, the organization developed him as a killer, but after training for a period of time, he was found to be unqualified, so he was thrown into my laboratory."

Kuroki Ren frowned.

Look, this is the inhumane thing about organizations. They are obviously the people that the organization wants to develop, but you only say that they are not good when they come, and you still have to use them as guinea pigs. It is simply inhumane.

After turning off the headset and then signaling Shirley to turn off the headset, Kuroki Ren stood astride the motorcycle and smiled sideways at Shirley:

"Should we consider our cooperation to release the person?"

Shirley suspected that she had heard wrongly. She looked at Kuroki in shock. Although he was smiling the same as usual, Shirley's keen sense felt that his inquiry at this moment was serious.

"Stop joking." Shirley felt her throat was a little dry and quickly took a sip of her drink. "It's simply impossible to release people from the organization."

"How is it impossible?" Kuroki Ren narrowed his eyes slightly, "How do you know it's impossible if you don't try? Besides, if you don't try, that person will die. If you try, you might still survive."

"Are we at risk of exposure?"

"As long as you don't hold back, no one will find out." Kuroki comforted her, "I know that you still have family members in the hands of the organization, and they won't drag you into the water rashly."

"Can you let anyone go?" Shirley's eyes flashed.

"What about?" Kuroki Ren looked at her, "Your sister?"

"You know?"

"Gin has shown me your information. Besides, Rye and I have also cooperated several times, so I know why he joined the organization."

"Don't mention him." Shirley's face suddenly turned cold.

"Want to try? Without your cooperation at the research institute, I wouldn't be able to let people go."

"Then try." Shirley stared at him, not missing any expression on his face.

Kuroki Ren smiled happily. He stretched out his right hand towards Shirley and said, "Happy cooperation."

"It's a pleasure to work with you." Shirley gave him a high-five.

"By the way, I was invited to attend the birthday party of the eldest lady of the Suzuki Foundation next Saturday. I can bring one person with me. Do you want to come with me?"

"I won't..." Shirley was about to refuse.

"You have to go." Kuroki Jin interrupted, "How else can you have an alibi?" He laughed.

Shirley looked at him and finally nodded.

Kuroki Jin smiled proudly. This smile disappeared in the dark night, and only the two of them could witness it.
