At this moment, the doors and windows of the Zen room were open. Sun Quan looked at the Mahavira Hall not far away with somewhat cloudy eyes. The pagoda slowly said: "I don't want to be like this. I also want to be compassionate. It's a pity that I have reached this position.
superior,
The human nature of family affection is far away from me. I think the current prince just wants me to die as soon as possible so that he can succeed to the throne as soon as possible. King Lu is not a fuel-efficient lamp.
Fortunately, Fen'er, Xiu'er, and Liang'er are still young and have not been involved in the battle for the crown prince's position. This can be considered lucky for them and me."
Zhi Qian did not want to be accused of instigating the relationship between the Tian family, so he responded and advised: "Your Majesty, all the princes are still very filial and will not do anything to usurp power and seize the throne."
Sun Quan sighed and said: "Hey, what tempers do my sons have? No one will be tempted in the face of power. It cannot be eliminated by a few volumes of Buddhist scriptures."
Zhiqian put his hands together and said: "As long as you can let go and sincerely study the Buddhist scriptures, there is no desire that cannot be resolved."
Sun Quan thought for a moment and then said: "I sometimes wonder, is there really a Buddha in this world?
At that time, Liu Zhuang was said to have seen a six-foot-tall, shining golden Buddha flying from the west in his sleep, but I did not have such an adventure. Maybe my practice was not enough and I caused too many killings.
But this is not right. Although Liu Zhuang met the Buddha in his dream, he left when he was still in his prime, but I have lived for so many years."
Liu Zhuang once had a strange dream. He dreamed of a tall golden man with white light emitting from his head, descending in the center of the palace.
Later, Liu Zhuang described what he saw in the dream in detail to the ministers. Later, a doctor Fu Yi explained that this might be the Buddha from the Western Regions.
Liu Zhuang heard that there was a god in the Western Regions, and his name was Buddha, so he sent 18 people including doctor Cai Min and doctor Qin Jing to Tianzhu (now India) to obtain Buddhist scriptures and recluses, and built the first Buddhist temple in China -
White Horse Temple.
Zhi Qian clasped his hands and replied piously: "If you believe it, there will be it; if you don't believe it, there will be none. After all, there was no Buddha in China before Emperor Ming Liu Zhuang of the Han Dynasty. There were only hundreds of schools of thought. Buddhism still pays attention to the spirit of a sincere person.
And for an emperor like Liu Zhuang, Buddha is just a whim interest, so naturally it cannot be said to be ineffective, and the same is true for His Majesty."
Sun Quan nodded and said: "If you believe, you will have it. If you don't believe it, there will be nothing. You are indeed a man of great learning. For people like me and Liu Zhuang, even if they have a certain respect for the Buddha,
But how can the Buddha stop what he is doing and the person who deserves to be killed? After all, Liu Zhuang and I are both sons of God!"
Sun Quan continued to discuss Zen principles in Buddhist scriptures with Zhi Qian in the Zen room. In another courtyard, under the pagoda, the civil and military officials in Jianye led by the prince, followed by sisters and brothers who presided over the Kang Senghui,
Monk Kang was wearing a monk's robe and cassock, holding a pure gold treasure box in his hands, which contained relics. Most of the monks in the temple gathered in front of the pagoda, arranged neatly, all with their hands
Putting hands together, the sound of Sanskrit chants continues,
The whole ceremony was very long, taking almost an hour and a half to complete, including rituals such as purification, return of invitations, offerings, Buddhist chants, dedication and release of animals. In view of the long ceremony, Sun Quan did not participate, but asked the prince to take his place.
,
The stone door of the underground palace under the pagoda was slowly pushed open by two strong men. Everything inside was new.
Then Kang Senghui strode into the underground palace holding the gold box enshrining the Buddha's bones and relics. He respectfully placed the gold box on the stone platform and said: "Welcome the fragrant flowers, please invite the fragrant flowers. All the disciples are here to invite you with one heart."
, the leader of the Saha Sect, who has incarnated himself into hundreds of billions of Buddha Sakyamuni Buddha’s true body relics, I only hope that I will not violate my oath, show compassion to sentient beings, and show mercy, and come to the Taoist temple. (Three times to ask and three times to bow).”
The original Buddha bone relics came from Tianzhu, thousands of miles away. After the Buddha passed away, he left behind many relics, including a skull, two shoulder blades, four teeth, a middle finger bone relic and 84,000 beads.
True body relic.
At that time, eight kings competed for the Buddha's relics, and each of them got a share of the Buddha's relics. They took the Buddha's relics back to their own countries and built pagodas for the people to look up and worship.
King Ashoka of India divided the Buddha's relics into multiple parts and sent them to various places to build pagodas for worship. At that time, there were 19 Ashoka pagodas in China to worship Buddha's relics. The one in Jianchu Temple today came from this.
Then Sun He took the civil and military officials behind him, and his brothers and sisters took over the treasures brought from the palace treasury from the servants on the side, and enshrined them in the underground palace for the purpose of praying for blessings.
Kang Senghui, who presided over this offering ceremony, had been waiting for this day for who knows how many years, but he finally let him wait.
Back then, he traveled eastward with a Zen staff in his hand. He went through many hardships before arriving in Jiangdong, and then persuaded Sun Quan to build a temple. How difficult it was for him. To this day, he still vividly remembers the scene when Sun Quan first met him...
At the beginning of the tenth year of Wu Chiwu (AD 247).
When Sun Quan was promoted to the imperial court in Jianye Palace, a chamberlain came in and reported:
"Your Majesty, a foreigner came into the country a few days ago. He calls himself a Samana. His appearance and clothing are strange. He should be examined."
Sun Quan wondered: "Sramana? This has never happened before. How does he act?"
The chamberlain reported back: "Your Majesty, the ascetic said that he set up a Buddha statue in the hut he built, claiming that the Buddha was a man of great enlightenment, transcending life and death, and could relieve the suffering of the world. But he had a high nose, deep eyes, and shaved his head. Not many people dared to believe him.
I thought………………”
Sun Quan said: "Okay, no need to say more. Do you know that when Emperor Ming of the Han Dynasty dreamed of a god, he called himself Buddha? Does this man believe in the same thing? Please bring him to see me."
Soon, the Samana appeared in the palace. When Sun Quan saw this man, he was so majestic and his eyes were shining. He felt happy and asked:
"Where are you from, sir? What's your last name?"
Kang Senghui clasped his hands and said, "Poor monk Kang Senghui, our ancestors are from Kangju and have lived in Tianzhu for generations. I grew up in Jiaozhi."
Sun Quan said: "You call yourself a Samana and worship the Buddha. So, what efficacious effects does the Buddha have?"
Kang Senghui replied: "Your Majesty, thousands of years have passed since the Buddha's Nirvana. At that time, the Buddha's bones were transformed into relics, and the divine light shone. King Ashoka built 84,000 pagodas.
Come and collect it. Later generations will build pagodas and temples to carry forward the Buddha's last wish. I hope your Majesty will help you."
Sun Quan then spoke again: "I understand. If you can get the relics and let me see them with my own eyes, I should build a pagoda and temple for you. However, if it is false and absurd, and you use dog teeth and pig bones to deceive the country, the country will own it."
The punishment is.
"Your Majesty, don't worry too much. Please give this poor monk seven days." Kang Senghui replied calmly and then left.
Back at the hut, Kang Sengji told his disciples what had happened. After hearing this, several of them were heartbroken: everyone knew that this was not an easy task.
Whether Buddhism is up or down depends on this! If we don't pray sincerely now, we will never think about it in the future.
After the monk finished speaking, he took a bath and changed his clothes, and fasted sincerely in the quiet room. He put the copper vase on the table, burned incense, prayed, and prayed for the relics...
