Chapter 1368 surprise attack

The camp of the Eighth Japanese Baggage Squadron was busy. The order for the division's retreat had been issued. They were busy packing the valuable looted property into boxes and preparing to transport it away.

However, they plundered so much from Yichang City and the surrounding areas that the baggage trucks were seriously overloaded, and there were still mountains of loot that were difficult to transport away.

Lieutenant Tachibana, the leader of the Japanese transport squadron, was busy directing his soldiers to carry the trophies, and shouted loudly from time to time.

"Squadron leader, the 3rd Brigade of the 58th Regiment asked us to free up some military vehicles and lend them some military vehicles." A Japanese soldier rushed to the squadron leader, stood upright, and reported immediately.

Not only did their heavy troops capture a large amount of loot, but the combat troops also captured a lot of loot. Now that they received the order to retreat, facing the mountains of loot, they had to go around to collect transportation vehicles.

"Ask them to borrow a car from the Engineer Regiment. Our cars are already full of loot and we can't spare any empty cars." Lieutenant Tachibana waved his hand impatiently.

"Squadron leader, the Third Battalion saved our lives last time when we were attacked by the Chinese. Will this offend them?" a second lieutenant said next to him.

Lieutenant Tachibana immediately frowned, thought for a moment, retracted his words, and ordered the second lieutenant: "Lend them twenty pack horses. This is already our limit."

"Hi Yi!" the Japanese second lieutenant responded and carried out the order.

"Squadron leader, what should we do if we still have a lot of loot that we can't transport away?" Soon another Japanese soldier came to report in a hurry.

"Any loot that cannot be transported away will be burned on the spot and cannot be left to the Chinese."

"Hiyi!"

"Why haven't the Yamano troops returned yet?" Lieutenant Tachibana asked, looking at the soldiers busy in the camp.

Everyone shook their heads, and a Japanese second lieutenant replied: "Squadron leader, we have sent people to convey the order to retreat. They should be back soon."

"Send people to urge them again, and at the same time order them to collect as many large vehicles as possible. We are in urgent need of vehicles to transport the loot."

"Hiyi!"

Soon, the Japanese's communication troops hurried out of the camp and ran towards the mountains and fields to sweep away the transport troops.

But what the Japanese didn't know was that the supply troops led by Second Lieutenant Shanye had been wiped out by Yang Ling and others silently.

The Japanese signal soldier who rushed out of the camp to look for the mountain troops soon encountered a convoy carrying trophies on the road, and he excitedly greeted it.

But what greeted the Japanese communications soldier was not his familiar companion, but a cold sharp blade.

Only half an hour later, Yang Ling and the others, disguised as a Japanese supply troop, approached the Eighth Japanese supply camp.

The few Japanese sentries in charge of peripheral security saw the rising sun flag flying by the convoy, but they only glanced at it from a distance and did not come to question it.

Because the troops of their three divisions had completely occupied Yichang, and the surrounding squadrons had retreated into the mountains, they never expected that there would be squadrons who would dare to take the initiative to attack them.

"Ready to fight--"

Some of Yang Ling's brothers from the Lieyan Special Warfare Brigade put on Japanese military uniforms, and some disguised themselves as civilians. They walked directly towards the gate of the Japanese camp without arousing any suspicion from the Japanese.

When they were still dozens of meters away from the Japs camp, several Japs guarding the entrance of the camp smiled and greeted Yang Ling and the others, and the brothers of the Lieyan Special Warfare Brigade also responded in simple Japanese.

When they approached the Japanese camp, the Japanese guards finally realized something was wrong, because the people who came over dressed as heavy troops were all unfamiliar faces, and they were not from the mountain troops who were out at all.

Although there are many captains in their baggage squadron, and although I cannot call many of them by name, I can always look familiar to anyone I see them without looking up.

The smiles on the faces of the Japanese guards who realized something was wrong suddenly faded, and they suddenly straightened their faces and asked loudly: "Hi, which army are you from?"

"Do it!"

Seeing these Japanese guards asking questions and picking up guns from their shoulders vigilantly, Yang Ling knew that he could no longer be fooled, so he directly ordered the attack.

Before the Japs took their rifles off their shoulders, the brothers in the assault group of the Flame Special Warfare Brigade had already pulled out their pistols with lightning speed and started shooting.

"Bang bang bang bang..."

Smoke erupted from the muzzle of the gun, and the whistling bullets directly penetrated the bodies of several Japanese guards at such a close range. Before the Japanese fell down, gurgling blood had already emerged from the gun holes.

Several Japs fell to the ground unwillingly. The Japs who were chatting and smoking on the heavy machine gun position and light machine gun position next to the entrance of the camp were also frightened by the sudden turn of events.

Their reaction was quick enough. They cursed angrily, threw the cigarette butts in their hands on the ground, and rushed towards the machine guns, preparing to fight back.

But Yang Ling and the others were faster, and they had discussed it on the way here. When the assault team was attacking these Japs, the brothers in the demolition team had already unscrewed the grenades and threw them into the Japs' machine gun position.

"Boom! Boom!"

As soon as the Japs' machine gunner touched the cold machine gun, and before he could turn the muzzle around, he was overturned by the air wave from the grenade explosion, and debris flew everywhere. The Japs had a heavy machine gun position and a light machine gun position.

It was destroyed instantly.

"Baga, there is a Chinese guerrilla attack!"

The Japanese soldiers who were busy carrying the loot to the car in the camp also went to grab their guns amidst the shouts of the sergeants and lieutenants.

After all, they were a supply force, and they were so close to Yichang. Their guns were all piled up together when they were working, so they never expected to be attacked.

So when Yang Ling and others rushed into the Japs camp, most of the Japs had empty hands and hurriedly ran towards the place where the guns were piled.

"Da da da......"

The two fire teams of the Lieyan Special Warfare Brigade placed their machine guns directly on top of a pile of boxes, and launched a fan-wide sweep at the Japanese.

The whistling bullets made a dull sound as they penetrated the gunshots, and clouds of blood mist emerged from the crowd of Japs. The Japs fell to the ground wailing like ripe wheat.

The brothers in the assault team surrounded them from both sides, charging and firing. They almost didn't need to aim at close range. The Japs without guns in their hands were like tigers without claws. They didn't dare to confront them head-on. They were in a hurry.

Run away and avoid.

The captain of the Japanese baggage squadron, Tachibana, was armed with a gun. He and several Japanese soldiers hid behind a tent and shot. Two brothers who had rushed through the smoke were injured by them.

Several grenades whirled and landed at the feet of Captain Tachibana. With a bang, Captain Tachibana felt like he was flying lightly, then landed heavily, and immediately lost consciousness.

Faced with the sudden attack by the Lieyan Special Forces Brigade, the Japanese supply camp was unprepared. Soon these supply soldiers, who were not strong in fighting will, were defeated and ran out of the camp from other directions and fled.

"Stop chasing, blow up everything for me!"

The Japs had plundered so many trophies. Although Yang Ling wanted to get them all back, he also knew that the nearby Japs troops would not give them so much time. Rather than being taken back by the Japs again, it would be better to burn them on the spot.
