Chapter Nineteen

The people attending the meeting dispersed, and I sat on the grass, looking at the starry sky and feeling very troubled, Wensley, how should I explain it to you?

A firefly with a fluorescent tail slowly flew out from the grass beside me, swaying up and down in front of my eyes. I stretched out my hand to hold it in my palm, and said to it, "Friend, I'll forgive you for a moment." Then I stood up.

Walked towards Wensley's tent.

"Miss Wensley didn't come back." An elf standing by the blue tent told me, "You can look elsewhere."

Feeling guilty, I almost ran all over the elf camp, but still couldn't find her. Where would she go? I began to wonder about Wensley's current mood...

"Is there a river or a small lake near here?" I grabbed an elf passing by and asked, "Someone with a quieter environment."

"Yes..." Or maybe I scratched him, and the corners of his mouth moved upward, "There is a small river over there that should meet your requirements."

"Thank you!" I threw him away and ran in the direction he pointed out.

What's frustrating is that I searched along the river bank for a long time and couldn't see any trace of Wensley.

"What bad luck!" I started to kick rocks into the river to vent my anger, and large splashes of water splashed up, breaking the quiet summer night.

"What are you doing!" A familiar voice came from the other side. Although it was not very kind, it was indeed the sound of nature to me now.

"Winsley, why are you on that side?" I walked directly across the river. Fortunately, the river was not very wide. "I have been looking for you for a long time."

"Is something wrong, Governor Cohen?" It seemed that the wet clothes did not achieve the comedy effect I wanted. Wensley said to me with a cold face, "If nothing happens, please leave me alone."

"It's something, of course it's something!" I was stunned for a moment and said, "I have something for you."

"What is it?" Wen Sili looked a little listless.

"Look." I opened my left hand that had been clenched into a fist in front of her, "It's your baby."

It really backfired, the bug didn't fly as I thought, and the poor guy was still struggling desperately in the sweat on my palms.

"You idiot!" Wen Sili carefully used her fingers to help the firefly get out of trouble, while frowning and scolding me, "Why weren't you more careful?"

"I'm sorry." I was very happy, at least this accident changed the awkward atmosphere between the two of us, "because I was too nervous."

"Don't say sorry to me." Wensley put the firefly on her finger and blew it gently with her mouth, "This firefly is so pitiful...it was brought here by a person who doesn't like it."

"Then..." My scalp tingled when I heard such pun-intended words, "We can send him back and let him resume his previous happy life."

"Can I just send it back?" Wen Sili said softly, "Can I forget that you brought me here?"

"Can I...sit down?" My intuition told me that it is best to think this question clearly before answering, "You know, I'm not used to standing."

Wen Sili didn't say anything, but judging from her expression, she already acquiesced to my suggestion.

"Winsley, if your mind has calmed down now." I sat down and looked at her and said, "I have something very important to say to you."

"Say it, I'm listening."

"That's right." I said, "A lot of things happened during my trip to the Holy Capital. Among them, the marriage between Lorna and I was decided because of the intervention of Queen Nasher."

"Felin and Kelly are both Wen Sili's good friends." Wen Sili said calmly, "I will be happy for them."

"You..." I almost felt knotted in my heart, "please don't interrupt my topic, okay?"

"good."

"The current situation in the empire is not very optimistic." I organized my thoughts and continued, "So it seems that my father and His Majesty Creamer have conceived a plan. As part of this plan, my wedding will be held next month."

"anything else?"

"Time is too tight." I said, "I have no way to notify you."

"That's it, are you done?" Wen Sili had tears in her eyes, "I'm going back!"

"Wait a minute!" I quickly stood up and grabbed Wensley, "Am I not explaining to you now? Even if I am guilty of a heinous crime, you should wait until I finish speaking!"

"What else can you say?" Wen Sili looked at me, tears finally falling, "You are going back to Dark Moon to get married. The bride is a good friend of mine. Can this fact be changed?"

"It can't change." I said, "But you can still marry me."

"No!" Wen Sili said very firmly, "I don't want to marry you."

"Why?"

"You already have two wives..." Wen Sili lowered her head in pain, "You are still my good friend..."

"Winsley, look at me!" I hugged her tightly, her body trembling slightly in my arms, and finally raised her head, "Answer me, in the long time since we have known each other,

Don't you feel that I love you?

Think about it, the days we spent together by the small lake where we live in the Holy City, and the days we spent together in the dark forest...are these not as good as a marriage contract?"

Wen Sili bit her lip tightly, her eyes blurred...

"Don't be sad." I carefully wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes, "As long as we love each other, everything else doesn't matter."

"But... you are getting married." Wen Sili said, "Isn't this a problem?"

"Yes, I'm getting married," I said, "but no one said there can only be two brides!"

"You..." Wen Sili looked at me with wide eyes and said almost desperately, "Is there anyone else?"

"It's you!" I said with a smile, "Beautiful elf, Miss Wensley!"

"Ah!" Wen Sili was taken aback. It was obvious that she was not prepared for this matter. "I... don't..."

"Dear Miss Wensley, I am proposing to you." I said, "Aren't you going to answer me? This is my first time to propose."

"No!" Wen Sili pushed me away fiercely, her face turned red, and there was a smile on her lips, "I won't agree to it!"

"Hey! It's really troublesome!" I said with my head in my hands, "It seems I have to go to see the elf aunt alone!"

"You dare!" Wen Sili said, pretending to be fierce, "I have nothing to dare." I hugged her again, "You know? My nickname now is Rogue Governor."

"Ah!" Wen Sili was suddenly attacked by me, and I succeeded in sneak attack, and kissed her gently on the lips.

Wen Sili, who had lost her first kiss, was so shy that she didn't care to scold me. She just glared at me fiercely, and then ran away like a gust of wind, leaving me standing alone by the river, "hehe" and giggling.

The communication method of elves is really strange. In less than three days, the reply from the elf aunt was placed on my desk.

"Boss!" Jack looked at me, "What's the good thing? You don't have to smile so exaggeratedly, right?"

"Jack." I waved to him, "Come and take a look."

"Can I watch it?" Jack ran over happily, "Is it really okay?"

"You bastard!" I grabbed Jack and threw him to the ground, "I even forgot to teach you a lesson!"

"Help!" This time it was Jack's turn to exaggerate.

Early the next morning, after arranging everyone's work, Wen Sili and I rushed to Darkmoon City with the guards... (To be continued)
