Chapter Four

When the last ray of sunlight disappears from the sky, darkness comes.

On the coast not far from the pier, there is the largest and smoothest beach on the island. Now, on this beach, the Shui tribe people have lit up piles of bonfires, and the blazing light of the fire makes everyone red.

His face seemed to want everyone to witness tonight's grand celebration and remember this warm scene in their hearts. And I can be considered one of them!

The tribesmen came to the beach early, everyone was dressed in festive costumes, and their faces were full of smiles. Today is their festival, and they have food, so of course they are happy.

In fact, only three people knew the real reason for holding this celebration. That was me, Shan De and the Great Elder who were sitting with me. We decided to hide the news that the Water Tribe was under the rule of the Dark Province for a while.

I was arranged to sit between the two most important people of the Aqua Tribe. The low table in front of me was filled with fruits that they thought tasted "delicious"... Most of the Aqua Tribe people stared at me with interest.

But I looked with great interest at the girl next to the great elder, the one I met by the pool.

I heard from Sander that this girl was originally the maid of the great elder, but the great elder treated her as his own granddaughter. Not only did he teach her carefully in magic and culture, but he also basically did not interfere in her life.

After careful observation, I found out that this girl is very nice, at least she looks very nice.

What impressed me the most was her skin, which was as white and tender as a newborn baby. Under the firelight, the skin from her forehead to her neck showed a healthy and energetic blush, just like her entire body.

It's as if the person is exuding fragrance, which makes people have the urge to swallow her.

I have to admit that I am a person who cannot stand temptation, and it is not convenient for me to do forceful buying and selling right now, so I forcefully turned my head and looked elsewhere.

The three sides surrounding the center of the celebration venue were full of people. The direction I was sitting in faced the sea, which was really nice! If the show was not good to watch, I could still enjoy the rolling waves.

The sound of a drum came along with the sea breeze.

Xander leaned over and said to me: "It's about to begin!"

I turned around and greeted Mafa and the others, telling them to pay attention to etiquette. Applaud when others applaud, applaud when others applaud, and don't do other unnecessary things. The Shui tribe is now my territorial people, and I should give them full respect... Respect can be

It's really a good thing, it can comfort people without spending any money.

The Great Elder stood up and walked slowly to the center of the venue. With a wave of his staff, the entire venue immediately became silent.

He raised his head and looked up at the night sky quietly, and a melodious chant came from his mouth.

"What is this?" I asked Xander: "Why does it look like casting magic?"

"The great elder is singing the holy words in praise of the water god in the ancient language of our tribe." Shande whispered to me: "This must be sung in every celebration."

"Why not you?" I said, "Aren't you the patriarch?"

"I'm not good enough yet. I have just inherited my father's position." Sande said with a hint of sadness, "I must prove to my tribe that I have the abilities of a tribe leader in the days to come before I can preside over such a ceremony."

"Oh! So that's it, what's her name?"

I asked Xander, pointing to the girl.

"Her? Her name is Forna." Xander looked at me and said, "I treat her as my sister, so don't think so!"

"Really?" I replied noncommittally.

At this time, the great elder's holy words were almost finished, and Forna walked up to the great elder with a group of water tribe girls of about the same age as herself.

As soon as the last word from the great elder's mouth disappeared, the seven-stringed harp in Forna's hand played the first note, and immediately, the fresh and sweet sound of the harp began to echo in my ears.

The great elder walked back to me and sat down.

Accompanied by other unknown musical instruments, Forna's small lips opened slightly, and a voice that sounded thousands of times more beautiful than the great elder sounded.

"Forna is singing now..."

"Shut up!" I interrupted Xander's explanation in a low voice, listening intently to Forna's singing, not noticing that my behavior was a little rough.

Forna's singing is like a gurgling stream in the mountains, winding its way through the distant night sky to my side, surrounding me, caring for me and refusing to leave. The singing brings little by little

The cool drops of water sprinkled on my heart, and all my anxiety and worries were removed by the singing, leaving no trace.

I closed my eyes, trying to capture the feeling of this moment at the end of the song, but Forna's singing changed.

It has become like a deep lake. Although it is so deep that I cannot see the bottom, it is not cold at all. It just hugs me with gentle arms, lifts my body with light waves, and lets my heart follow the waves.

Softly undulating, gently swaying... washing away all the dirt in my heart.

I am not a person who can be easily moved, but at this moment, at least I was slightly moved...

Just when I thought this was Forna's singing at her peak, she brought me even more surprises.

The singing changed again.

This time, the singing seemed to turn into the water of an endless river. The surging water waves carried my body and rushed down. The singing was full of passion, as if the river didn't care about all the constraints on both sides of the river and kept moving.

It rushed towards the sea. It made me feel the joy and excitement of the flow all the way!

I have listened to many aristocratic poets' chants, and I have also heard many "passionate performances" by the temple choir. But if I put them in front of Forna's singing, those gorgeous poems and empty singing will suddenly pale.

Powerless.

Forna's fingers struck the last note, and the singing stopped.

Everyone in the audience gave the warmest applause and cheers. Even Mafa and the members of the Guards who came with me were mesmerized. They shook their heads and cheered loudly, almost forgetting where they were.

There were only two people in the audience - the great elder and I did not join this intoxicated and semi-crazy procession, and I did not even clap my hands.

The reason is that I vaguely feel that Forna has not finished singing. In any case, incomplete things are not worthy of praise.

Forna picked up the harp, bowed deeply to the audience around her, then walked back shyly, still sitting behind the great elder.

The celebration continued. A group of water tribe warriors emerged from the sea without warning at the call of war drums and danced the unique war dance of the water tribe on the beach. The masculinity of men and the softness of the bones of the water tribe were perfectly blended.

I had no intention of enjoying the dance - I didn't like it from my previous life to now. I focused more on Forna, but she said a few words in the ear of the great elder and left.

Watching her leaving, a very bold idea sprouted in my heart.

"Great Elder." I sat next to the Great Elder and said, "I want to ask you for someone."

"Who do you want? When?" The great elder actually didn't care.

"I want Forna, but not now." I said, "When the time is right, I will send someone to pick her up."

"Your request is a bit excessive. She is a good child...but..." the elder said, "I hope you will treat her well."

"I won't let you down." I raised the wine glass in my hand: "I promise!"

At this time, the war dance had ended, and the Shui people started an almost unbridled carnival.

The night's celebration was over, and I dragged my slightly sleepy body onto the ship. Accompanying us on the return voyage was Shan De. Everyone was talking and laughing along the way, and the atmosphere was quite harmonious.

But I was using my free time these days to teach Sande the strategic ideas, tactics and equipment necessary for a powerful navy... My thoroughness, detail and clarity made Sande fall to the ground again and again.

But he still insisted on calling me "devil".

Due to the headwind, the fleet had to spend more time, and I was happy to have a few free days.

That afternoon, when I was tugging on Xander's ears and teaching him "amphibious force projection", the hatch was violently knocked open by Marfa.

"Boss," Mafa said, "Something is flying from the sky!"

Before I finished speaking, I heard a loud noise from the deck!

I stepped onto the deck in two steps. Before I could ask what was going on, a green magic ball hit me.

"Careful!" Xander shouted, throwing us onto the deck.

The green magic ball flew over our heads and exploded at the stern of the ship. Several sailors who had no time to dodge were swallowed up and were instantly corroded until only their skeletons were left.

I looked up and saw that in the sky not far from us, a monster with wings was circling our ship, spitting green magic balls at the ship from time to time.

"What is this?"

"It's a sea monster! A monster that lives in the sea." Sande said, "But it flies very fast and is difficult to deal with. It is a natural enemy of ships sailing on the sea!"

I watched the Kraken's movements carefully and found that it took a short time to stabilize its body before each time it fired magic.

"I'll attract the sea monster, Xander, you and Marfa find a way to kill it!"

I cast the Levitation Technique and the Wind Wing Technique on myself, and with the help of magic, my body rose into the air and forced me towards the Kraken.

The siren didn't panic at all. He opened his mouth and a magic ball shot straight towards him.

I gathered enough fighting spirit, yelled to force it out, and struck the magic ball with a golden light from the black iron knife in my hand.

There was a loud noise, the green magic ball dissipated, and the sea monster and I fought together.

The Kraken flew swiftly, trying to tear me apart with its thick claws and dirty mouth. Compared with it, I was at a disadvantage in terms of speed while floating in the air, so I could only bite and persist in defense.

Mafa's bows and arrows and Xander's water magic also continued to attack the sea monster. However, in comparison, these attacks hardly posed any threat to the huge sea monster. Instead, they were fighting the sea monster in close combat.

I am in danger under the attack of the sea monster.

The Kraken's claws slashed down and tore open my clothes. Because I was in a hurry and didn't wear any armor, it opened a large gash on my left waist.

Its two front paws gave me another heavy blow. Although I blocked it with my knife, I could no longer support myself by relying on my levitation skills. I fell heavily from the air to the deck...

Although my martial arts and magic skills are not very good now, I had a great advantage in my previous life, that is, my ability to withstand strikes is very strong.

After rolling a few times to offset the powerful impact, I propped myself up from the deck and looked up to see that Marfa had flown into the sky and was fighting with the sea monster.

"Your mother is too thick-skinned!" I spat and cursed bitterly.

"That's what the Kraken looks like." Xander said, "That's why it's the natural enemy of our ships on the sea!"

"I don't believe I can't knock it down!" I turned my eyes around and started looking for something that could help - a ballista-like thing on the bow of the ship caught my attention.

I ran over and took a closer look. It was indeed a very large ballista, with a long rope tied to the back of the iron crossbow arrows.

"What is this for?" I asked a sailor next to me.

"Fish hunter, big fish."

"Sander! Come here." I shouted loudly while adjusting the direction of the ballista.

Sander ran over, and I told him: "I will shoot the sea monster, and you can add magic to the crossbow arrows. Can you do it?"

"meeting!"

I nodded and shouted to Mafa in the air: "Keep the distance and let it use magic!"

Mafa's body flew away in the air, putting some distance between herself and the sea monster. At the same time, she lowered her height, and a white halo appeared around her that only appeared when magic was used.

The siren hissed a few times in a low voice and swayed in the air, as if looking for Mafa's flaws.

Xander was singing magic in a low voice beside me, and a layer of misty white appeared on the crossbow arrows.

The shaking amplitude of the Kraken's body is getting smaller and smaller. I know that the moment its body becomes still, the magic ball will blurt out!

"Distance, angle, windage, speed..." I muttered something in my mouth, trying very hard to stand more firmly on the deck, and constantly adjusting the crossbow in my hand. You know, we only have one crossbow arrow to use!

At the moment before the Kraken stopped, I decisively pulled the trigger of the crossbow, and the heavy crossbow arrow was launched. It drew a beautiful arc in the air, and penetrated straight into the air.

The siren's mouth opens wide!

There was a muffled sound, and the magic that Sandor had blessed on the crossbow took effect! The sea monster let out a long mournful cry, struggled and flapped its wings a few times, and then fell headlong into the sea.

Everyone on the boat burst into cheers, and Xander and I gave each other a high-five!

"Ah?" Xander pointed to my left waist and said, "Devil, you are injured!"

Only then did I feel a burst of severe pain, a weird pain, coming from the wound on my waist.

"No." I stopped Sander, who wanted to use magic to treat me: "The Kraken's claws are very dirty, and they need to be cleaned first."

"No problem!" Xander waved and said, "We have the best witch doctor."

A Shui Tribe man quickly ran over and squatted next to me. While carefully examining my wounds, he stuffed something unknown into his mouth and chewed it hard.

Looking at the red juice flowing out of the corner of his mouth, I got a little stage frightened.

"Don't be busy! Wash it with strong liquor first..." I told him some knowledge about debridement and bandaging.

When everything was ready, I wiped the sweat from my forehead and pinched his ears with my hands.

"Mr. Witch Doctor, you won't hurt me!" I said: "I have a bad habit. When it hurts, I will exert force on my hand, and when I exert force, it will be very strong. There are many people in my family who are missing ears...

Then, let’s get started!”

The witch doctor looked at me sincerely, I think he wanted me to put my hands down. I looked at him also sincerely, but didn't put my hands down.

He blinked, thought again, then turned his hand and poured a pot of strong liquor onto my wound!

After a period of coolness, the pain came overwhelming.

"Ha! Ha! Ha!" I was embarrassed to shout in front of so many people, so I had to laugh instead. Of course, I wouldn't make this half-hearted witch doctor feel comfortable. I turned his ears half a circle to inform him.

His my feelings.

"Oh!" The witch doctor tilted his neck, brewed another pot of strong liquor, then took out the chewed paste from his mouth, mixed it with a lot of unknown things, and applied it on my wound.

"Ha! Ha! Ha!" I opened my eyes wide, smiled stiffly, and gave his ears a half circle.

"Oh..." The witch doctor looked at me sideways, and in a desperate attempt to save his life, he did something to my wound again. A more severe pain came, but this time it was normal pain, burning, quite...

pure.

"Hey...hey!" I couldn't wind up his ears a few more times, because my brain implemented self-protection under the intense pain. Although it's a bit embarrassing to say...but I still can't deny it.

passed out.

When I woke up, the sky outside the window was filled with stars.

"Boss, we are almost there." Seeing that I woke up, Mafa smiled and said to me, "What do you think?"

"Well, yes, this witch doctor is okay." I checked the wound: "It's already normal."

Mafa said to me: "By the way, the witch doctor said your wound is a bit serious. It's best to rest for a few days, and don't run around and sit on a stretcher or something, which will help your recovery."

"Really? Where is the witch doctor?" I said, "I want to thank him."

"Him?" Mafa laughed out loud: "Because his ear was seriously injured and he is also resting!"

"Really? Haha!" I said with a smile: "Forget it, we will disembark at the castle dock and send someone to notify Fichet."

"Yes!" Mafa walked out and closed the door gently.

I was carried into the castle on a stretcher, smiling and greeting my men along the way. I hadn't seen them for nearly ten days, and my smuggling business was booming, and the dock was littered with scraps of packaging straw rope.

"Boss, you're back!" Jack got out of a carriage that had just arrived: "What, are you injured?"

"A little injury, it's nothing." I said with a smile: "Come and meet Xander! From now on, we will all work hard together!"

After greeting each other, several members of the Guards carried me towards the room.

"Boss, do you know?" Jack said excitedly from the side: "We have really found the right person! Under the management of Miss Dill, every business of ours has a huge profit! It was the same as before when we went it alone.

More than five times! Miss Dill also asked us to accept goods reservations. The businessmen from the Demon Kingdom greatly appreciated our methods. Although the reservation price will be high, they are still willing to accept it!"

"Really? Where is she?" I was very happy to hear the news: "This Mr. Sander can make our smuggling ship safely reach every port in the Demonic Kingdom!"

"Miss Dill and Fichet have been in Wampu for the past two days and are on their way here now! We are discussing about letting Amaterasu establish a stronghold in the Demon Kingdom." Jack lowered his voice and said to me: "Because we need to do it at the same time.

Taking into account both smuggling and development convenience, it is a bit difficult to choose between the several existing options..."

I nodded: "We'll talk about this later. Miss Dill these days..."

"She is very good to us!" Jack said: "After you left, she was in charge of all the business, and she was very happy!"

"Then...has she ever mentioned me or asked me about my past?"

"No! Boss." Jack comforted me and said, "In my opinion, the situation will get better, so don't worry..."

Seeing Jack's fake mature look, I couldn't help laughing and scolding him: "Go, go, do you have experience in this area? Why don't you go and arrange a room for Xander!"

"Yes, yes, it's no small matter that the boss is angry!" After saying that, Jack pulled Xander away like flying. (To be continued)
