Chapter 1 Another World

Life is like a turbulent flow, and Verdes is an alien in this world.

In the fog, he couldn't find the way forward, let alone what to do best.

I don’t know what this life is, maybe it’s just an accident?

He was lucky enough to be born into a wealthy family, but unfortunately he suffered from a strange disease the moment he was born.

Whenever midnight falls, the sky will be filled with fog, and there will be whispers in the ears.

But that didn't make him feel scared. Instead, he felt extremely quiet and warm.

Of course, Verdis had done many tests but to no avail. The doctors said there was nothing wrong with his eyes.

I also saw a psychiatrist, but to no avail.

Fortunately, he is a mature child who understands the difficulties of his parents and is not afraid of the fog.

Unfortunately, his mother had secretly found many so-called fortune tellers, but was defrauded of a lot of money and returned without success.

He heard his parents' quarrels, his mother's cries and his father's comfort.

Later, when I was 16 years old, I left my original family with my father’s acquiescence.

He cannot put a strange color on this noble family.

Fortunately, a large amount of money is put into Verdis's card every month, allowing him to live the life he wants.

But he didn't know what kind of life he wanted to live.

I don’t know why I am always so calm, as quiet as this fog.

He has no friends of his own, because they will be woken up by the whispers in the night and believe the weird rumors-------he is a monster.

People can always disguise their hypocrisy very well, but they don’t know that their genes have been clearly arranged by fate.

That's greed and that innate self-defense reaction.

But it’s also good for Verdis not to have to see their frivolous comforts and not have to deal with their useless promises.

At least it will be extremely quiet like now, reading a book and holding the cat in my arms.

Verdis loves to hear its purr.

……………………

"Where did this cat come from?"

An unknown voice echoed in his heart.

"When I was eight years old, I found it on the window sill of my room, and it has been by my side ever since."

When the mist falls, only Verdis and it can quietly enjoy the ethereal world outside this world.

……………………

"Where is your family?"

"My family seems to be just related to me by blood. It's not like you can say good night to each other, but it doesn't matter anymore.

Although I don’t have a big brother I admire or an interesting sister, I do have Xiao Hei, and that’s enough, it’s my family.”

………………………

"Don't you have a butler?"

"They don't want to come near me at night. They leave and go home before night comes. After all, this is not ancient times, right?"

People say not to believe in superstition but at the same time they are afraid of the unknown.

Don't try to understand the so-called supernatural phenomena, although Verdis has not seen cases like his in the supernatural phenomena.

Maybe he is the only one in the world.

"Maybe I will be interviewed in the future and then written into a new supernatural story, you think so, Xiao Hei."

………………………

"Don't you have any interesting stories around you?"

"I remember there was a thief downstairs one night, discussing what he wanted to steal, and he was reading the Bible there to embolden him.

The companion said that the owner of the house was invisible to the blind, and said not to be afraid and not to believe in superstition.

I don't bother to care about them. After all, nothing here belongs to me, as long as Xiao Hei is still there.

As a result, they were halfway through stealing, rolled around and screamed "Ghost" before running away. The voice should have been the one who told them not to be superstitious. It was really ironic and funny."

…………………………

"Are you in the house during the day too?"

"I don't want to go out. Maybe I'm too famous. I hate the feeling of being surrounded by stars...

Well, that’s not the feeling. How should I put it? They are all terrible at acting. You have to be attentive and at least do the whole thing. This kind of acting that is superficial but not funny is too boring."

"I understand, their eyes must be very dazzling."

"I actually don't care very much. That's probably how witches in the Middle Ages felt. It doesn't matter."

.............................

"Is it gone?"

"Well, cats don't live long like I do.

Thank you for staying with me for so long. It’s okay. Let’s go find it together.”

People often say that the state of wanting to die and actually facing death are often opposites, but maybe this is not comprehensive enough, because at this moment Verdis only feels at ease.

Like flowing water, he forgot his whereabouts in the dark night.

I just feel like I have merged into the water, and I can’t tell whether it is the sky or the ocean. I feel suffocation and weightlessness at the same time.

The fog became clear, entangling him and Xiao Hei who was originally in his arms.

I want to catch Xiao Hei, but I can't do anything. This fog is like a requiem, my consciousness gradually blurs and I can't wake up.

………………………

"Do you know the moment my life ended? Verdis."

I don’t know how long it took, but a familiar voice echoed in my ears, but it seemed to be far away. It lost its usual gentleness and tenacity, but instead felt a deep sense of powerlessness and despair.

"Maybe since you lost it."

Silence filled the darkness, and mist filled this space. Verdis did not open his eyes, but he could feel the mist and the other him right in front of him.

"Am I a complete person? Verdis."

"I don't know, but gentleness and strength are already rare and valuable. Who knows what completeness is."

"Verdis, you are wrong, I am a despicable person, Osman Teller was my former name."

The sound gradually faded away, as if it was the beginning or the end.

…………………………

Time is passing by itself. I don’t know where it is going or how long it has been going.

The temperature of the soles of the feet, the touch of the palms of the hands, the breath of the nose, the speed of the heartbeat.

Verdis slowly opened his eyes and looked at the classical ceiling. This was a beauty he had never seen before. The angel holding the heavy sword and the knight following him were like a holy war in the story.

Feeling the cold metal touch in his palms and the low pressure feeling of a heavy weight on his chest, Verdes slowly raised the book on his chest with his weak hands. It was a locked diary. Under the bronze metal shell,

A strange array of locks, and a name "Osman Teller" is engraved in a groove on the metal surface.

A twitching sensation suddenly occurred in my dizzy brain. That was the name I heard in my dream. It was the name given to myself by another "Verdis", but this book actually wrote about the name that was supposed to be the only one in the world.

A name that only Verdes himself knew.

The sound of deep breathing broke the original tranquility, the dizziness in the brain slowly faded away, and the uneasiness and nervousness were suppressed again at the moment of birth.

Where is this? Questions were born in his heart. Verdes sat up and looked around this strange space.

The reddish-brown log desk has a slight fluorescent green sheen.

Classic floor-standing table lamp, dark brown log wardrobe, dark gentleman's suit hanging on the hanger, bronze mirror.

The wall looks like a wallpaper of a sun, a set of armor glowing with green fluorescence and a long sword wrapped in leather hanging on the wall.

And none of this is the key. To Verdis, this is just a cos medieval room.

But when he saw the floor-to-ceiling windows that glowed slightly with fluorescent green light, he could no longer look away.

He subconsciously turned over and got out of bed, only to find that his legs and feet seemed to be not his own, and he couldn't control himself and fell to the side of the bed.

There were slightly hasty footsteps outside the door, but all this information was not noticed by Verdis. He never took his eyes away from the window, and used all his strength to slowly crawl towards the window step by step.
The fluorescence slowly climbed up his body until he leaned against the window and opened the curtains.

He smiled at the unknown yet familiar face on the transparent glass, peering into the unknown world, and the fluorescent green moonlight penetrated his mind.

Medieval classical towers, steam everywhere, dim warm-colored street lamps, majestic churches, and the most fascinating thing is the 200-meter-high tower towering in the town and the light above it.<

/p>

The fluorescent green moonlight, the huge light tower, the city with the architectural style of the medieval steam age, he knew that this was not the earth, and the most important thing to Verdis was that the night here would no longer be shrouded in fog.

Thinking of this, countless memories came flooding in. Bits and pieces of the original world filled Verdis's mind. He recalled what else was in the fog in front of him that day... There were also some fragments that he couldn't remember intermittently.

Get up.

At this time, the sound of footsteps gradually came, and the knock on the door rang.

"Master Teller, what was the noise just now? Are you okay?" A slightly older voice knocked on the door and asked politely.

Verdis looked in the direction of the door in confusion and didn't dare to say anything. He didn't know how Teller treated his family. He was afraid that his existence would be discovered and cause unnecessary trouble, so he simply pretended to be weak and took a step to see.

Take one step.

"Master Taylor? This subordinate is offended, Master!" As the question came to an end, the door was quickly opened and the lights were turned on almost simultaneously.

An old man with long braids appeared in front of Teller. He had a somewhat square face, and there were already signs of age on his face, but he could still see tenacity and determination in his brown eyes.

.

"Master Terrell!" Looking at Terrell who was leaning against the window, the old man came to Terrell's side almost instantly.

What kind of speed is this? Verdes concealed the shock in his heart and still leaned weakly against the window and looked at the scene outside.

It turns out that he really became Telaire, so where did Telaire go? Where was the mysterious meeting? When the mystery was mixed in Verdis's mind.

Terrell's head was lifted upward.

"I offended the young master."

A strong stream of water poured into his mouth, scurrying back and forth in his stomach like a water snake.

But the strange thing is that apart from nausea, there was no tingling sensation until the water snake faded away and Verdes knelt on the ground retching but nothing came out.

The old man glanced at the opened box of sleeping pills on the table, and then at the remaining pills that had just been taken out of Telal's stomach. He looked at Telal with a complicated expression, sighed silently, and helped Telal back.

On the bed.

"I will tell Master Enge the specific situation. Young Master, please take a good rest first."

After saying that, he left a thin line of water beside the bed and turned around to leave.

Verdis looked at the sleeping pills on the table and gradually understood everything. It turns out that some first encounters are the last reunions in life. So is this what despicable means, my friend?

"Will you survive?"

Verdis sighed to himself, but he knew that he could not die yet, and there were things more important than death or life that he had not yet thought of.

There should be another figure in his life, the figure who really accompanies him, but he can't remember who it is, and he can't bear to lose himself to death like this.

He felt that the answer was beside him. The fog that day took away not only him but also another person!

Verdis leaned against the head of the bed, closed his eyes, and smiled slightly.

Since it was the fog that brought me and the black shadow to this world, the fog itself is the answer. I didn’t expect to get rid of the fog, but I have to take the initiative to find the fog again.

"How ironic."
