Chapter 23: Attack of Quirrell

While Harry Potter was working hard to find clues about the Philosopher's Stone, Quirrell was also working hard to allow his master to obtain the Philosopher's Stone.

As a puppet, cannon fodder, and Voldemort's mecha, he is both hateful and very pathetic. He neither has the courage to face death when encountering Voldemort, nor the strength to defeat him. In the end, he can only choose to surrender and become his opponent.

Puppet.

However, when he truly became Voldemort's puppet, he discovered that this might be a more uncomfortable thing than death. But he did not dare to face death.

However, after becoming Voldemort's servant, he also had a highlight moment. That is, he single-handedly successfully entered Gringotts, which is known as the safest place in the world. Unfortunately, the Sorcerer's Stone had been taken away in advance, and he failed to achieve his goal.

.

And that failure became the beginning of his real nightmare, because the most unacceptable thing for Voldemort was failure. So he was disappointed with his incompetent servant. After all, some important things had to be done by himself. That is,

Since when did Quirrell have an extra face on the back of his head?

After being possessed by Voldemort, Quirrell had to wear a scarf to cover up his master's presence, and his body began to rot and stink because a dead man lived in it. He had to hang garlic all over his body to cover up the smell.

A rotten smell like corpse odor.

But Quirrell's nightmare did not end there. Although he learned the whereabouts of the Philosopher's Stone because he participated in the protection plan for it. But if he wanted to snatch the Philosopher's Stone away under Dumbledore's nose, it would be difficult for him to do so.

It's something that even Lord Voldemort can't do, let alone Quirrell.

Of course, it was not without his efforts. He once tried to put a troll into the castle on Halloween. Then, using the chaos caused, he sneaked into the place where Dumbledore kept the Sorcerer's Stone and stole it.

But he didn't expect that the troll he let in would be killed by a few first-year Gryffindor students. Apart from giving a lot of points to Gryffindor House, it had no effect.

Another failure brought Quirrell to Voldemort's greater wrath, and he was almost tortured to the point of dying. So much so that during the Quidditch match, Quirrell chose to take a desperate risk and attacked Harry secretly under Dumbledore's nose.

Potter's broom spell.

Little did he know that it was at this time that Dumbledore was completely convinced that he was Voldemort's puppet. Now Quirrell only knew that he was going to die, either from the side effects of being possessed by Voldemort or from too many failures.

Many were abandoned by Voldemort.

It was not that he had never thought about resisting, but his power was too weak for Voldemort. Moreover, if he resisted or disobeyed even a little bit, he would be punished by Voldemort, which would be too painful.
Therefore, the only thing he can do is to endure it for the time being, and then find a chance to live. He no longer wants to gain other people's attention, nor does he want any more power. He just wants to get rid of Voldemort and live.

And Voldemort also gave him a way to survive, which was to go to the Forbidden Forest and drink the blood of the unicorn. As a legendary creature, the blood of the unicorn can allow people who should have died to continue to live, but they will also bear the price.

A heavy curse.

But for the desperate Quirrell, drinking the blood of the unicorn is almost his only option. Of course, if he has the courage and repentance to face death, he can also choose to directly seek help from Dumbledore

.

Unfortunately, after much hesitation, Quirrell stood at the entrance to the Forbidden Forest. After his last attack on the unicorn failed, this time he tried to lure Hagrid away.

This stupid half-giant guard of the Forbidden Forest is a drunkard. Although he hardly gets drunk, he likes to hang out in bars. He just used a little trick to let him hang around the bar and forget his own job.

After all, there were rumors in the tavern that a smuggler with dragon eggs had recently arrived nearby. As one of Hagrid's lifelong pursuits, how could he let go of such news?

Fueled by alcohol and dreams, Hagrid decided to go shopping at the Three Broomsticks Bar. The considerate Professor Quirrell decided to help him patrol the Forbidden Forest to see if anyone with evil intentions had sneaked into it.

It has to be said that Quirrell's luck was pretty good when he didn't encounter Harry Potter. He once again encountered the unicorn he attacked last time, but the other party did not learn the lesson of escaping from death last time.

, actually dare to come out and hang out.

This may be the self-confidence of a five

p>

Quirrell, a former Hogwarts graduate, may only be able to bully a troll, but Quirrell, a pseudo-horcrux as Voldemort's mecha, can easily kill a Hungarian Horntail.

Therefore, it is no problem to defeat a unicorn of the same level as a fire dragon. The reason why he failed last time was because he was careless. He was also afraid of making too much noise and attracting Dumbledore.

But now he is going to die, sooner or later, so he might as well give it a try, maybe he can still live. The power that Quirrell unleashed when he made up his mind made even Voldemort look at him with a sideways glance.

Of course, that's the limit of upgrading him from a better trash subordinate to a better than trash subordinate. The green light rising into the sky and the successive explosions in the Forbidden Forest showed the intensity of the battle between the two sides.

So much so that Dumbledore, who was watching "Transfiguration Today" in his office, had his hands trembling.

"Today's young people don't know how to pay attention to the impact. With so much noise at night, how can an old man like me read a book well? What do you think? Fox."

Fox glanced at Dumbledore after hearing this, and then went on to study his toenails. It was about to die, and now he was too lazy to pay attention to this old guy who was looking for trouble at night.

I will soon turn into a newborn baby, unlike an old man who only gets older and older. Now he looks like he has Alzheimer's disease.

When Quirrell discovered that the green light and the explosion did not attract Dumbledore, he began to become more unscrupulous, and he used all kinds of black magic that he had only understood in theory one by one.<

/p>

In the end, the noise in the Forbidden Forest became louder and louder. Snape, who was responsible for keeping track, couldn't stand it anymore. He opened the door and walked into the principal's office. Dumbledore also closed the book, preparing to remind some ungrateful person.

Young people.

But with a cry that touched the soul, the movement in the Forbidden Forest stopped. After Dumbledore and Snape looked at each other, he closed the "Transfiguration of the Day" in his hand.

"Is it worth it?"

"Sometimes sacrifice is necessary for a better future."

"For the greater good?"

"Snape!"

"Huh, I'll go back and keep staring at Quirrell."
