"It's just a matter of eating a few more pinches of salt and reading a few more people,
I wonder what the Third Prince has learned here!" The old monk Qian'an asked very humbly.
"It's nothing, I'm just asking Master Xuanzang to clarify my doubts." Li Ke said it in an understatement."
When the old monk Qian'an looked at the third prince of the Tang Dynasty, he was first surprised.
Because there are many temples in the capital city of Chang'an,
There are also many eminent monks who are not there to answer questions.
Instead, it is not very common sense to go to a temple in such a small place to seek answers.
This is a strange thing.
The second thing is that when he came here, he didn’t look for the elders here.
Instead, go directly to Chen Xuanzang, which is the second wonder.
His apprentice Jiang Liuer has always kept a low profile.
He rarely leaves this area, and his reputation is unlikely to spread to the capital city of Chang'an.
Not to mention that the third prince came here with admiration.
The old monk Qian'an knew that his apprentice would definitely become famous in the future.
But now he is unknown. How did the third prince find this place?
The third prince came to find him. Judging from his many years of experience in this world, not only was the Tang Dynasty about to change,
I'm afraid the entire Nanzhan continent will change.
If we look at it from the perspective of practicing Buddhism for many years, I am afraid that the entire Three Realms will have changed.
But this old monk from Qian'an has sharp eyes.
He saw that Li Ke had no ill intentions towards Chen Xuanzang.
No more words,
Instead, space was left to Li Ke and Chen Xuanzang,
He went to find another Zen room to meditate and recite sutras.
Only Li Ke and Chen Xuanzang were left in this Zen room.
They are both about the same age, and both are at a vigorous age.
The atmosphere in the Zen room is peaceful and mysterious.
Li Ke looked at Chen Xuanzang with the eyes of a soul from two lifetimes,
I found that Chen Xuanzang’s eyes were as clear as water.
These eyes reminded Li Ke of the phrase "There is nothing in the first place, so where is the dust!"
Sure enough, we are in the real Journey to the West,
Only then did he realize that the Tang Monk in front of him was not like the one shown on TV.
It is neither white with tender skin nor black, but has a very healthy complexion.
He will cry when he accidentally steps on an ant, but he will not be anxious about his own sadness.
"I wonder if your highness has any doubts that a poor monk can help you with?" Chen Xuanzang smiled and asked Li Ke to take a seat.
"I have also read some books since I was a child. As I grow older,
I am more and more confused, what is a Buddha and what is a demon?
What is a demon again?
Demons eat people just like people eat chickens, ducks and fish.
People can eat chickens, why is it wrong for chickens to eat people?" Li Ke got straight to the point.
I want to directly debate with Chen Xuanzang about the problems that have existed in the ancient capital,
It seems natural that humans can eat mammals. What does natural selection mean?
Determined by your position in the food chain,
In turn, humans yelled and killed them, saying they were monsters.
To slay demons!
"Whether it is a Buddha, a demon or a monster, it all depends on the thought in my heart.
As the saying goes, all appearances are false,
If you see all the different appearances, you will see the Tathagata." Chen Xuanzang explained calmly.
"What do you mean?" Li Ke wanted to dig deeper.
"Buddhas, demons, demons and immortals are not Buddhas, demons, demons and immortals.
It’s called Buddha, Demon, Demon, Immortal,
All living beings have the root of wisdom and can become immortals.
Everyone can become a Buddha, and everyone can become a demon and demon.
But in the heart, the key lies in how to subdue the heart." Chen Xuanzang began to answer Li Ke's quotation from the scriptures.
"If I see someone trying to kill a woman and child, and I don't stop him, do I think this is a Buddha or a demon?" Li Ke directly used examples to counterattack.
It's too conceptual to grasp, let alone give full play to one's own advantages.
"Those who have the desire to kill are demons, and those who refuse to save them are also demons in their hearts." Chen Xuanzang said.
"If the woman's husband and the child's father had killed this person's entire family,
Is he here to take revenge?
If I stop it, wouldn't it make that person resentful and let the murderer go free?
Great revenge cannot be avenged..." Ke suddenly turned to this example,
Dig inward into issues of cause and effect and good and evil.
"There is no right or wrong in the world, only cause and effect.
My father was killed and my mother was humiliated. If I feel resentful,
I will definitely kill the thief with my own hands,
Even if you cut him into pieces, you can't change the cause and effect.
It's better to let it go." Chen Xuanzang also gave an example.
"Let go? How to let go? If I behead you now,
Just say that this is the cause you sow, and this is the result.
What should you do?" Li Ke retorted.
Faced with this rhetorical question, Li Ke was stunned.
"All effects of actions have causes,
There is no enmity between the two of us, and the third prince has no intention of killing me.
There is no such cause, let alone such effect." Chen Xuanzang found another way and did not answer directly.
The cause is not the cause, and the effect is not the effect. Time can confuse cause and effect.
The bright moon outside the window has already hung high, and the conversation between the two people indoors has just begun.
The purpose of Li Ke's coming here is to conquer Tang Monk.
If you say it nicely, it's called subjugation; if you say it badly, it's called deception or brainwashing.
As long as Tang Monk is captured, we will have a trump card against Buddhism in the future.
In Li Ke’s view, in the world of Journey to the West,
Not all temples are monks, and not all Buddhists are Arhats and Buddhas.
There are many demons wearing cassocks.
"I once read the Diamond Sutra, but I didn't understand a sentence. I hope Master Xuanzang can clarify it.
All conditioned phenomena are like bubbles in a dream, like dew or lightning, and should be viewed as such.
A few days ago, Guanyin appeared in Chang'an City,
I would like to ask Master Xuanzang whether this is a promising method?"
"Leave aside the appearance of Guanyin Bodhisattva, but looking at it literally, the Buddha allows ordinary people like us to use six common things: dreams, illusions, bubbles, shadows, dew, and lightning.
Look at everything in the world.
If you often visualize like this and see through the truth, you can let go of your attachment to everything.
Achieve letting go of the conditioned dharma and attain the unconditioned dharma,
Eventually, you will reach the state of immortality and return to your own Buddha nature." Chen Xuanzang patiently explained the original meaning of this sentence.
"A Bodhisattva does not abide by appearance, sound, fragrance, taste, touch, or Dharma.
The manifestation of a Bodhisattva is just like a dream, not a manifestation of a Bodhisattva.
It’s about living in one’s own home.” What Chen Xuanzang said was very mysterious.
He sent back the difficult problem raised by Li Ke and said what Li Ke saw
It is the phase where you live.
Li Ke discovered that there was no gain in debating Buddhist scriptures with Chen Xuanzang.
Chen Xuanzang will definitely read more classics than the third prince who loves to read leisurely books.
We still have to find another way to conquer.
At this time, Li Ke regretted not reading more Buddhist classics in his previous life.
What doesn’t exist in this world, the world in the previous life did.
Even some secret techniques can be learned as long as you find a way.
The direction of the debate cannot be in the direction that Chen Xuanzang is good at.
"Since the Bodhisattva does not live in the form, now the Bodhisattva insists on asking my father to hold a land and water conference.
Doesn’t it mean that he has already lived in the state? Is such a Bodhisattva still a Bodhisattva?” Li Ke directly talked about the Land and Water Conference.
Using the deeds of the Bodhisattva to infer the Bodhisattva allowed Chen Xuanzang to directly think about the authenticity of the Bodhisattva.
Li Ke felt that this could directly attack Chen Xuanzang's core beliefs.
