Chapter 391 Picture of the Seven Sages in the Bamboo Forest

"Golden Baoguang, isn't this a Song Dynasty painting?"

"The treasure light, which is as big as a pebble, proves that this is a fine painting by a top painter in Song Dynasty. Shen Yu, Shen Yu, you have found another treasure today!"

This painting also has a title, called "Eight Immortals Drinking".

It is a landscape and figure painting in color on paper, signed by the last of the four Southern Song Dynasty painters: Xia Gui.

I saw rain and fog in the mountains, and the river at the foot of the mountain was rushing.

The vegetation is lush, the giant trees are towering, the trees shade the sun, and even the cliffs are covered with ivy.

When looking at paintings, one must look at climate characteristics, so this painting should be of summer and autumn scenes.

What is surprising is that although there are many trees in the painting, they are dense but not chaotic. This alone reflects the artist's wonderful painting skills.

Although the landscape in the painting is not complete, as if half of it is missing, it gives people a feeling that everything is close at hand and thousands of miles away.

After carefully observing the landscape part of the painting for dozens of seconds, Shen Yu nodded secretly.

The scenery in this painting is prominent in the close-up and light in the distance, and the brush strokes from real to virtual are delicate. It can be said to be unique and very similar to the style of Xia Gui's handed down works.

Before the dyeing, it was foggy, the trees and rocks had distinct shades, the brushwork was elegant, and the colors were exquisite. It is indeed a masterpiece!

There is a long poem in the poem hall of the painting.

"Zhizhang rides a horse like a boat, and falls asleep under the water in a well."

"The three battles in Ruyang began to face the sky, and they were eager to seal it to Jiuquan."

"The Prime Minister of the Left spends tens of thousands of money every day, holding a cup of music and calling him a saint to avoid virtuous people."

"Zong's handsome and handsome young man is as bright as a jade tree in front of the wind."

"Su Jin Changzhai often likes to escape to Zen when he is drunk before embroidering Buddha."

"Li Bai wrote a hundred poems about drinking wine and slept in a restaurant in Chang'an City."

"The emperor couldn't get on the boat after calling him, so he claimed that he was a wine-drinking immortal."

"Zhang Xu's biography of Three Cups of Grass is like a cloud of smoke."

"Jiao Sui had five fights with Fang Zhuoran, and his eloquent talk shocked four feasts."

The painting is called "Eight Immortals Drinking", and the focus of the painting is naturally the characters, while the landscape is just the background and embellishment.

I saw a mountain villa with cornices, carved beams and painted roofs standing on a flat boulder somewhere on the mountainside.

Many people in the courtyard are drinking.

The so-called Eight Immortals in Drinking are naturally among them.

Some people may ask what are the Eight Immortals in Drinking? Who are these Eight Immortals?

In fact, the Eight Immortals in Drinking are talking about the eight outstanding Confucian talents, which are completely different from the Taoist Eight Immortals Tieguaili, Han Zhongli, Zhang Guolao, Lan Caihe, He Xiangu, Lu Dongbin, Han Xiangzi, and Cao Guojiu. What's going on.

The eight characters in "Eight Immortals in Drinking" come from "Song of the Eight Immortals in Drinking" written by the poet saint Du Fu, which is a long poem depicting the location of the Poetry Hall. The eight characters are:

1. He Zhizhang, who left home as a young boy and returned home.

2. The great-grandson of Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty, and the grandson of Li Chengqian, the king of Hengshan, he was a royal family member of the Tang Dynasty and also the prime minister of the Tang Dynasty. Li Shizhi was known as the man who would never get drunk after drinking.

3. The eldest grandson of Li Dan, Emperor Ruizong of the Tang Dynasty, the eldest son of Emperor Li Xian, King of Ruyang: Li Jing.

4. Prime Minister Cui Riyong’s son, Duke of Qi: Cui Zongzhi.

5. The governor of Sizhou, the minister of the Ministry of official affairs, the Duke of Hanoi: Su Jin.

6. Poet Li Bai.

7. Caosheng Zhang Xu.

8.Bu Yi Jiao Sui.

These eight people are collectively known as: "Eight Immortals in Wine". Among the eight people, He Zhizhang is the eldest and has the most seniority, so he is placed first. The others are ranked according to their official titles, from the children of the clan to the princes and prime ministers to the commoners.

But it is worth mentioning that these eight people are all friends of Li Bai. They have bold and generous personalities and get along well with each other. They never judge their superiority based on their status or the quality of their wine. They generally do not get drunk when they drink, and they do not play tricks if they drink too much. I'm crazy about drinking, so I'll do some literary creation or something.

Although there are eight immortals in the drink, there are not only eight people in the painting. Shen Yu roughly counted them, and there were thirty-six people in total.

This also includes guests, grooms, bearers, servants, maids, bookboys, etc.

This requires the discernment of the appraiser, but it is not difficult for Shen Yu.

Although "Eight Immortals Drinking" is not as famous as "Seven Sages in the Bamboo Grove", there are countless ancient painters who painted this painting.

The most famous one is Li Gonglin, followed by Liu Songnian, Tang Yin again, You Qiu, etc. Shen Yu has seen many of them before.

In the painting, the person riding a horse is dressed as an old scholar, with thick eyebrows and red eyes, a thin face, and official boots on his face. He Zhizhang.

Feather fan and silk scarf, it was Li Shizhi who was about to leave in a carriage in high spirits.

It was Li Jing who was drinking to relieve his worries and was about to fall drunk. He was the eldest grandson of Li Dan, Emperor Ruizong of the Tang Dynasty. That means his great-grandfather was Li Zhi and his great-grandmother was Wu Zetian.

He is the eldest grandson, and his father is naturally the eldest son.

But his father didn't like to be the emperor, so he gave up the throne to his younger brother Li Longji, who later became Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty.

Originally, Li Jing was 100% the prince and could even inherit the throne, but in the end he was just the King of Ruyang. Do you think he felt comfortable? But things couldn't be changed, so he could only drink to relieve his worries.

With a graceful demeanor and a look as jade as a stranger, it is natural that Cui Zongzhi is the one to dress up as a rich man.

The person who talks about Zen and scriptures is none other than Su Jin.

Holding a cup in one hand and splashing ink with the other, the person wearing a futou is definitely the poet Li Bai.

The person next to him who has already written a piece of calligraphy is Cao Sheng Zhang Xu.

The one who talks eloquently is Jiao Sui who usually stutters, but when he is drunk, it is Jiao Sui who has nothing wrong with him.

Although the eight main figures in the painting have different expressions, they are painted in a meticulous and lifelike manner. Even the clothes they wear are different. Perhaps only Xia Gui himself can have such painting skills!

Xia Gui, a master of painting in the Southern Song Dynasty, named Yuyu, was born in Lin'an.

The year of his birth and death is unknown. Together with Li Tang, Liu Songnian and Ma Yuan, he was honored as the "Four Southern Song Dynasty Masters" by later generations.

Xia Gui and Ma Yuan were also called Ma Xia.

Ma Yuan has a reputation as a horse.

And Xia Gui is "Xia Banbian".

Compared with the other three, Xia Gui's history and life information are relatively sparse.

Shen Yu only knew that Xia Gui painted figures in his early years, and later switched to landscape painting.

He mainly studied Li Tang, and also studied under Fan Kuan, Mi Fu, Mi Youren and his son.

Like the other three great painters, Xia Gui was also appointed to the Academy of Painting and was given a gold belt symbolizing the highest honor of a painter.

"Tu Hui Bao Jian" praised him this way: "No one in the courtyard painted landscapes better than him since Li and Tang Dynasties."

Xia Gui's paintings are inspired by nature, and his brushwork is simple and the meaning is far-reaching. In other words, it is quite different.

Because he rarely painted panoramic views, and often took half of them. Combined with the landscape part of this painting, the original half of Xia’s painting is gone!

Ding!

The crisp bell rang in the hall, it turned out that it was time for appreciation, and Shen Yu and others had to reluctantly get off the appreciation platform.

While walking, Shen Yu glanced at the man with the flat head pretending to be unintentional, and found that there was a trace of uncertainty on the other man's face. It was obviously because the time was too short and he did not take a thorough look at the original painting of Xia Gui.

However, Shen Yu was not confused by his expression. No one who came to the auction was a simple person, so don't be careless.

As soon as he returned to the VIP seat and sat down, Shen Yu's phone made a rapid WeChat sound effect.
