Chapter 142 The Major General who came back

Warsaw, Belvedere Palace.

On the street, a squad of well-dressed cavalrymen with exquisite combat boots roared past.

For a country like Poland, where nearly a quarter of the entire army is made up of cavalry, the tall and powerful cavalry is their favorite.

Even some senior generals who have private cars are proud to ride into the city on horseback. Only when they are with their families do they drive out their cars.

"Here we are."

After being questioned and inspected by the guards of the Belvedere Palace, a cavalry colonel took off his military cap and smiled at the leading major general.

The person who led this small group of cavalry to the Belvedere Palace was Major General Filipowicz, the commander of the 13th Cavalry Division, one of the three main Polish cavalry divisions today.

Because after the Battle of the Ruhr, French advisors argued that armored forces were useless, Polish Marshal Piłsudski dismantled the only Polish armored brigade in history that could fight against the Germans in the future.

Filipowicz, the major general who was supposed to be the commander of Poland's most elite armored brigade, was later "luckily" transferred from the reserves to serve as the division commander of the newly formed 13th Cavalry Division.

Under Filipowicz's training, in just the past 10 years, the 13th Cavalry Division has become one of the three main cavalry divisions recognized by the Poles. The reason why they have gained such a reputation is Filipowicz's high-intensity

training.

Filipovitz also has his own unique set of rewards and punishments for training results.

In regular proficiency tests, each regiment and battalion within the division determines military salary levels based on test results. The troops with the best scores receive double pay, and the division headquarters rewards their achievements with rewards. The teams with the worst data have almost no military pay and can only

Living on free military meals.

After ten years of continuous training, although the 13th Cavalry Division has never had a single actual combat experience, it has been listed as one of the main forces by the Polish High Command, and is viewed on the same plane as those teams with glorious traditions.

Originally, when the Polish High Command declared war on Czechoslovakia a year ago, the 13th Cavalry Division was one of the three leading cavalry divisions invested in the early stage.

As a result, the rapid merger of Czechoslovakia and Germany reduced the strength of the Polish command. The officers and soldiers of the 13th Cavalry Division, who were ready to make contributions, were reined in the second before setting off!

This is almost a year.

Today, Germany and Poland are at war with each other over the Danzig issue and are at war with each other.

The Polish army implements a rotation system, which requires that at any time, including all holidays, more than two-thirds of the army's personnel must be on duty. To put it simply, every Polish soldier's vacation is compressed.

For one third of the original.

Likewise, the build-up of German troops is no longer a secret.

"We can't wait any longer!" Filipowicz took two accompanying colonels and strode into the conference room of Marshal Smigre, the current commander-in-chief of the Polish Army.

Marshal Smigre, who was in a meeting, saw Filipovitz pushing open the conference room door without courtesy. Not only was he not angry, but he smiled and made a gesture to Filipovitz to stand up.

"If Major General Filipowicz has any suggestions, you can put them forward now. I am just discussing the next action plan here." Marshal Smigre said with a smile.

Filipovitz looked at Marshal Smigre who had promoted him, and before giving his suggestions, he first saluted with a standard military salute.

Since being assigned to the reserve service by Piłsudski, Filipowicz has actually stayed away from the military world he loved, spending every day with a group of generals who were also ignored, far away from the military center.

If Marshal Smigre hadn't reactivated himself later and transferred him to train a new army, he might never have the chance to realize his ambition.

Therefore, when it comes to Marshal Smigre, who has been kind to him again, Filipowicz has always shown no so-called false courtesy. He only uses actions to prove himself and prove that the other party did not choose the wrong person.

He was not good at speaking, and it was for this reason that he was ignored and neglected.

His strength lies in military theory. Filipovitz knows what Marshal Smigre wants and what he should do.

After Smigre waved, Filipovitz immediately began to describe the plan he had brought today without any nonsense.

"The intention of the Germans is very obvious. They are going to launch a war! If we still sit here and wait to be killed, what awaits the Polish army will be a disaster." Filipowicz said loudly.

"We have just discussed these. Now, what I want to know most is, what do you think we should do?" Smigre gestured to continue.

Perhaps before this, considering Filipowicz's position as a major general, it was a bit redundant for him to consider these issues. But now, the Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Army, Field Marshal Smigre, ordered Filipowicz to temporarily take over the new 10th Army Corps.

After becoming the commander of the corps and concurrently serving as the commander of the 13th Cavalry Division, Filipowitz had enough reason to share Smigre's worries.

In the past month and a half, the Polish army urgently expanded 4 border defense regiments and also reorganized 32 homeland defense battalions. This move added a total of 20 new divisions to the Polish command. Although the combat effectiveness is unstable, it is indeed

This further strengthened the overall strength of the Polish army.

Among them, two expanded divisions from the original border defense regiment were merged under Filipowicz's command, and together with the 13th Cavalry Division, they formed the new 10th Army. Everyone understood that perhaps only a small battle was needed.

, Marshal Smigre will have the opportunity to promote Filipowicz to lieutenant general. And when the day of victory comes, Filipowicz may be the new general whom Marshal Smigre personally accepts.

Of course, although Filipowicz has become a famous Polish military training master through the training of the 13th Cavalry Division, it is impossible for the two divisions temporarily assigned to him to form much combat effectiveness in a short period of time.

As the infantry as the main body of future battlefield defense force, these two expanded divisions of the border defense regiment are equipped with a small number of artillery and many mules for transportation. In future operations, they still have a certain degree of firepower and mobility.

However, the situation for the new divisions reorganized from the Homeland Defense Battalion is not so optimistic. Not only are they severely lacking in equipment, but their personnel training is also inadequate. Although many civilians continue to join such low-class divisions,

No matter how large the number of "troops" achieved in this way, it is unlikely to have much practical significance.

Although there are still many people in the high command who are looking forward to this new type of division, in Filipowicz's view, the reality is not as good as the high command thought. According to his analysis, these have not received systematic training, and only a small number of them have been trained.

The equipped "militia divisions" cannot form reliable combat effectiveness. The troops formed in this way are no more than a large-scale reserve training camp.
