Chapter fifty-seven who is the head of state

Gustav's coming to power paved the last brick for Zhang Chengtian's plan to transform Germany.

In just a few years, the Socialist Workers Party further expanded its power and reached its peak.

The Newk, which was originally issued as a commemorative coin, completely replaced the original currency mark under Schacht's operation. The rent mark used during the transitional period was cancelled, and the indemnities of the Treaty of Versailles became a thing of the past.

As a result, an interesting phenomenon emerged. Germany still paid the Mark compensation to France, and for the first time paid off the arrears of compensation, plus the additional compensation promised by Zhang Chengtian. But the French were not happy at all.

The mark still exists as a currency, but its exchange rate with the U.S. dollar has reached 1,000,000 to 1. At the same time, the Nuuk has also become Germany's second currency, with an exchange rate with the U.S. dollar of only 1.8 to 1.

The protest from France was unprecedentedly strong, but it was only a protest from France. Under the control of Britain and the United States, the League of Nations declared that Germany's reparations were still legal and France's protest was invalid.

Under the shadow of the defeat of the Ruhr, France as a whole was unable to take a stronger stance. The French team had no determination to defeat Germany from top to bottom.

Of course, there is still action. The French government approved a bill to speed up the construction of the Maginot Line and invested an additional 50 million enamel funds in the Maginot Project.

In contrast to France's behavior, the German Congress suspended measures to increase military spending and devoted all its energy to strengthening the country's infrastructure.

Under the leadership of the German government, the Weimar Republic launched the "Gustav New Deal."

The Weimar government's New Deal was very simple. Through the Social Work Newspaper, which had become Germany's first newspaper since the last presidential election, it called on the people to work and provided relief for work. It began to build highways and large-scale public projects.

This move has almost eliminated more than 90% of Germany's unemployed population, and many workers even have paid holidays.

The Socialist Workers Party also took the opportunity to carry out a large number of publicity and training and poverty alleviation activities. It promised that as long as you join the Socialist Workers Party and participate in joint actions, you can be guaranteed to have food, physical subsidies, and work. Many people are homeless.

Those who return can even receive welfare housing.

After gaining public support from the largest party in the country and solving the unemployment problem, the new Weimar government began to popularize welfare benefits. Although the intensity was not large, it at least introduced many pragmatic policies.

Of course, to achieve all the above changes, the most important thing is money!

To this end, the Weimar government once again approved the establishment of a new paramilitary organization-the SA!

Because the members of the stormtroopers all wear brown uniforms, they are also called brown shirts, or SA for short. In the declaration of establishment, members of the stormtroopers must swear that they are willing to be an "organization of steel" and follow the leader willingly.

Their so-called leader was Hitler, the founder of the SA and the nominal leader of the Socialist Workers Party. Their chief of staff was Captain Ernst Röhm, the staff officer of the Seventh Military District of the Munich Army.

Although it was dangerous for Hitler to have his own force, Chang Chengtian was determined to take the risk in order to find a scapegoat to do the dirty work.

In the original history, the SS was a branch of the SA. But this time, the SA existed as a branch of the SS.

As a result, this organization that existed in the dark side of the Republic began to "serve Goethe with beer cans and chair legs."

Night after night, a group of members wearing brown uniforms broke into the estates of major Jewish businessmen, plundered gold, silver and jewelry, and even killed people.

In the past few years, countless Jewish businessmen have been robbed of their long-saved family properties. The Childe Group, which was once all-powerful in Germany, even declared bankruptcy and was dissolved.

Of course, the Weimar government also allowed Jewish businessmen to leave Germany, but there was a prerequisite for leaving, which was to leave home cleanly!

Many Jewish businessmen were afraid to stay in this dangerous area because they were reluctant to part with the wealth they had collected from Germany over the years.

The result of the misers was that they were systematically purged by the stormtroopers one after another.

In three years, the stormtroopers collected more than 6 billion new dollars in shady funds for the republican government.

Surprisingly, most people in the country do not care about what happened to these businessmen. They were extremely disappointed with the original Weimar Republic government, which did nothing after World War I and could not even guarantee basic unemployment benefits.

.Since the new government can bring them a stable life, why should they oppose the government's measures?

The panicked Jewish businessmen even turned to President Gustav, who had once suppressed them, for help.

Therefore, Zhang Chengtian, who had been promoted to Lieutenant General of the National Defense Forces, received the task of protecting the property of the Jewish chaebols.

Zhang Chengtian did it, and the businessmen's property was safely put into the treasury, in absolute safety!

Finally, the private organization SS announced that it would provide protection to all businessmen in the country, including both property and life. The premise is that businessmen need to pay 80% of all their property.

Businessmen who are good at doing business have chosen this bandit-like protection. At least, they can ensure their own safety while leaving 20% of their property.

The largest protection fee collection operation in German history was carried out extremely smoothly.

The SS did ensure the safety of the businessmen. All businessmen who paid protection fees were fully protected. There were even SS soldiers standing guard for them at different times.

These SS soldiers standing guard in black uniforms were photographed from a handsome angle by reporters from the Workers' and Peasants' Newspaper. As a positive propaganda for the SS's protection of the safety of Jewish businessmen, it was printed at the end of every newspaper.

In less than two months of propaganda, almost all remaining Jewish businessmen had handed over "protection money" to the SS.

For this reason, the conflict between Zhang Chengtian and Hitler became more and more profound.

Hitler radically believed that all Jewish businessmen should be exterminated and every bit of their property should be squeezed out. As a later time traveler, Zhang Chengtian was naturally very resistant to this barbaric method.

Although Zhang Chengtian also understood and experienced the shameless methods of the Jewish consortium, he actually had an oriental soul that was tolerant and generous and educated in benevolence and righteousness.

From another perspective, the SS troops under Zhang Chengtian protected all the remaining Jewish businessmen, which meant that the stormtroopers directly under Hitler would no longer be able to make a difference.

The actions of the two have been placed on opposite sides. And Hitler has long understood that Zhang Chengtian is by no means the kind of person who is willing to be controlled by him.

Some time ago, in order to distinguish himself from the party leader, Zhang Chengtian even gave himself the title of head of state.

To be honest, Hitler liked the title Führer very much, provided that this title belonged to him!

After repeated thinking, Hitler finally came to the conclusion that he, Hitler, was fully capable of taking Zhang Chengtian’s position. Since Zhang Chengtian was unwilling to give up on his own, it’s no wonder that he, Hitler, grabbed it!
