670 The Last Struggle

(Sorry, the last chapter took too long to conceive. This chapter can be refreshed in another hour, or you can read it when you have time after getting up tomorrow morning.)

As the heir to the British throne, Princess Elizabeth and her sister Princess Margaret had already fled to Balmoral, Scotland.

At that time, some people even suggested that the two princesses should take refuge in Canada.

However, this was strongly opposed by Churchill at the time: "The country is still at war, so the country's princess should not be able to leave under any circumstances!"

Later, at the beginning of 1941, Churchill found an excuse to bring Princess Elizabeth back to London after she had taken refuge in Scotland. The reason was to stabilize public sentiment and let the people of London see that the princess dared to make a special trip back to London at this time, and then believed in her.

London, the capital, is still safe.

After returning to London, except for the occasional speech, Elizabeth was not summoned much on weekdays.

Until today, Churchill suddenly summoned her who was staying in London to stabilize people's hearts.

When Princess Elizabeth was found by Churchill, her first reaction was that the Prime Minister seemed a little crazy and completely lost the sense of wisdom she once had.

In the past, when Princess Elizabeth met Churchill, although she could feel the other party's aggressiveness, she knew more that she was facing a measured and rational person.

But today, Elizabeth seemed to think that Churchill's appearance as a fat man was...a bit wretched.

After meeting Elizabeth, Churchill silently led the princess, who stayed in the capital to inspire the people, to his dark underground office.

In order to avoid the frequent air raids by the Luftwaffe on north London, Churchill's office had long been moved to a dark, cold basement without sunlight.

Because of the different sunlight, Churchill, the fat man, became more and more like the vampire in European legends. He became darker and lower-pitched with each passing day, and his whole body exuded a disgusting smell.

"Mr. Prime Minister..." Elizabeth felt very uncomfortable. She frowned and asked Churchill: "What are you...?"

Churchill turned back to look at Elizabeth, still silent, but waved to his secretary.

"Click!" After getting Churchill's signal, the secretary closed the door to the room with a bang, and then locked the door with an obvious click from the outside.

Glancing in the direction of the door in horror, Elizabeth suddenly found that she and Churchill were the only two people left in the room, and the door was locked by Churchill's people.

"Mr. Churchill! What are you going to do?" Elizabeth called out Churchill's name in fear.

It was only after confirming that the sound of locking the door was indeed heard that Churchill, whose back was already lumpy, turned around and stared directly at Elizabeth with a sickly pale face.

"Princess Elizabeth, Princess Elizabeth of the British Empire." Churchill, who had been silent until now, slowly began to speak: "Today, at this time, I want to ask you, do you know the story of the Byzantine Empire and the Ming Empire?"

Elizabeth didn't seem to know where Churchill had made the wrong connection, and she shook her head and looked at him in confusion.

However, Churchill did not seem to notice Elizabeth's expression at all. He was immersed in his own world and preached to himself: "The walls of Constantinople in the Byzantine Empire were very strong. Except for the Crusaders, for thousands of years,

No one could conquer it. But with the expansion of the Ottoman Empire's territory, Constantinople gradually became at the center of the Ottoman Empire's territory. The emergence of new weapons and artillery also made the amazing defense of this ancient and war-torn majestic city wall

The power was greatly weakened and eventually it was defeated."

Churchill expressed emotion to Princess Elizabeth: "Isn't this very similar to us today? The Germans, with new weapons and tactics, broke through the English Channel which we have never breached for hundreds of years."

Looking at Churchill's increasingly crazy eyes, Elizabeth instinctively felt a danger, but she didn't know what danger it was?

Because of instinct, Elizabeth asked Churchill with some trepidation: "Mr. Prime Minister, I want to go out. Please let me leave here. I am too tired today. If you have anything to say, you can talk to me another day.

."

"No, no, no. It must be today!" Churchill said no three times in a row, staring stubbornly into Elizabeth's eyes.

"The monarchs of the Byzantine Empire and the monarchs of the Ming Empire in the East all chose to perish together with their own country when the empire was destroyed. Our British Empire is already on the verge of collapse today..."

Immediately, Churchill suddenly took out the prepared pistol and poison bottle from the drawer of his desk, held the gun in one hand and the poison in the other, waved it and shouted to Elizabeth: "The British Empire is over! As a leader, we cannot be captured by the Germans.

!”

Having said this, Churchill finally revealed his crazy and ferocious face in front of Elizabeth: "So let us destroy this empire together! Hahahaha!"

"Madman! You madman!" Elizabeth shouted in horror, waving her slender arms wildly, trying to stay away from the crazy Churchill.

"God! Help! Someone help me!" she shouted, trying to open the door and escape.

However, the door was locked from the outside. No matter how panicked Elizabeth was, her weak strength as a woman could not open a locked door.

At the same time, Churchill suddenly rushed behind her, held her head down ferociously, pushed Elizabeth to the ground, and prepared to stuff poison into Elizabeth's mouth.

To poison a princess who has no power to restrain a chicken, and as the heir to the throne, this is simply the worst deed in the world. What's more, the person who did such a thing is actually the Prime Minister of this country!

Elizabeth, who just turned 15 years old last week, was very helpless. She couldn't figure out why she had to commit such a crime and be dragged to death by the wretched and dirty fat man in front of her.

A dead fat man stuffed his mouth full of poison and died in pain, which simply made Elizabeth collapse.

"Bang!"

Churchill's gun did not fire, the sound came from behind Elizabeth.

The door to the room was suddenly kicked open. Elizabeth, in despair, raised her head and was surprised to see Duke Gort rushing into the room with a group of soldiers.

"Duke Gott, save me!" Elizabeth shouted with tears of joy.

"Gort?!" Churchill, who was about to kill Elizabeth, turned his head angrily after hearing Gott's name, and reprimanded loudly with a tone full of resentment: "You damn bastard, why are you still here?! Bastard

, get out of here!"
