764 War once and for all

Will Roosevelt collapse because the situation worsens? Of course not!

This was originally the opportunity for war that he had been waiting for for a long time, but the price paid was a little higher than expected.

But on July 3, 1941, the day after the attack on Pearl Harbor, Roosevelt held a speech asking Congress to declare war on Japan.

In order to create enough public opinion atmosphere for this speech, Roosevelt also asked people to print newspapers the night before, describing July 2 as the day of national humiliation of the United States, recalling how Japan had pretended to be a grandson in front of the United States and talked about peace.

In front of countless spotlights and under the gaze of countless eyes, Roosevelt took his speech and kicked off the United States' entry into this world-class war.

Unlike the last world war, the United States did not enter the war under a relative balance of power.

During World War I, the United States relied on selling arms and other strategic materials and using its neutral status to become the world's largest economy. It was around that time that the United States truly rose to prominence.

If according to European terms, the Battle of Poland is regarded as the start of World War II, then the United States did the same thing at the beginning of World War II. Anyway, it was only nominally funding British supplies, but in fact it was developing the economy and reselling arms.

But things are different now. Britain is gone. If the United States still wants to buy arms and strategic supplies to go to Europe, it can only sell them to Germany and its allies.

As for Asia, the Japanese have already taken action, and it is naturally impossible for the United States to sell Japanese supplies. As for China, it can sell arms, but the price offered is too low, and it is difficult to even offset the shipping costs.

As a result, the sales of U.S. arms will be greatly reduced.

Even selling Soviet arms, Roosevelt had to think carefully to avoid irritating the Allied militant groups and causing a situation in the Atlantic that the United States could not cope with in a short time.

Fortunately, we can now produce and sell our own weapons. We don’t have to sell arms. We can purchase them directly from the US government to arm the newly expanded army.

With the army, Roosevelt had the confidence to lead the United States into the war. In his opinion, in terms of population, wealth, technology, and land, in what way is the United States not better than Germany?

As long as there is enough time to integrate and join forces with Canada and other American countries, and develop the United States' own war potential, the United States, the chosen country, can become a world-class hegemon!

After a few seconds of rapid inner emotion, Roosevelt moved his mouth, opened his mouth, and was ready to announce the historical decision.

He hadn't rested all night since the battle report from Pearl Harbor came back. Only three hours ago, on the way here, he leaned on the car seat, closed his eyes and regained some strength.

However, thinking that what he was about to announce would become an important part of history, Roosevelt felt full of strength.

The United States should have joined this war long ago!

"Mr. Vice President, Mr. Speaker, members of the House and Senate..."

Roosevelt used his strong and powerful voice to slowly announce the opening remarks:

"Yesterday, July 2, 1941... is a day of national infamy that we must always remember"

"The United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by the Imperial Japanese Navy and Air Force! This was a naked and shameless sneak attack, with no note and no ultimatum. Just an hour after the Japanese Air Force squadron had begun bombing Oahu Island, the Japanese station

The U.S. Ambassador also submitted to our Secretary of State a formal reply to the U.S.’s recent letter to Japan. Although the reply stated that it seemed useless to continue ongoing diplomatic negotiations, it still did not contain threats or statements about war or armed attack.”

"Hawaii is so far away from Japan...History will prove that this attack was carefully planned for countless days and nights and was a long-planned sneak attack. During this period, the Japanese government deliberately used hypocritical peace

statement to deceive the United States."

"But yesterday, the Japanese attack on Hawaii Island caused the most serious damage to the U.S. Navy and Army in 20 years. I regret to tell you that many Americans lost their lives. In addition, it was reported that U.S. ships were lost between San Francisco and Honolulu.

We were also attacked by Japanese torpedoes on the high seas."

"Yesterday, the Japanese army attacked Guam!"

"Yesterday, the Japanese army attacked the Philippine Islands!"

"Yesterday, the Japanese government launched an attack on Malaya!"

"Hostilities already exist! It goes without saying that our people, our territory and our interests are in serious danger!"

"Japan took a sudden offensive throughout the Pacific region. But they also allowed all the people of the United States to finally form their own unified view and realize that this is related to our country's security and even survival itself!"

"We believe that the entire United States will always remember the nature of this attack on us. We also believe that the American people will eventually win absolute victory with their own righteous power!"

"We now predict that not only will we do our best to defend ourselves, we will ensure that this form of treachery will never endanger us again! Never!"

"Believe in our armed forces and the firm determination of our people, they will definitely bring us a complete victory. May God help us!"

"I, Roosevelt, as President of the United States, hereby ask the Congress to declare that a state of war has existed between the United States and the Empire of Japan since July 3, 1941, when Japan launched its unprovoked and despicable attack."

Roosevelt put away the speech in his hand, raised his arms with his thin shoulders and shouted: "War!"

It was this roar that made everyone present feel full of power.

"War! War! War!"

Countless people were infected and chanted slogans one after another. As an American, no one will remain emotionless at this moment.

Immediately, the U.S. Congress unanimously approved Roosevelt's decision to declare war on Japan. For the first time, a firm and unified group stood behind Roosevelt.

After a long time, when Roosevelt sat in a wheelchair and drove towards the door, everyone in the hall stood up and watched Roosevelt leave.

The sunlight outside the door was a bit dazzling, so Roosevelt, who had not slept all night, could only squint his eyes slightly and block the dazzling light with his hands.

He knew that from today on, the United States would become a chess piece instead of the chess player behind the scenes.

In this turbulent war situation, Roosevelt didn't know whether his decision would be wrong, but he did not regret it!

If the United States wants to become a real world power, it must participate in this war. Peace and tranquility cannot give birth to the status that the United States should have in his mind.

That is the status of world hegemon!
