Chapter Thirty-Eight

It's called Hu Mei.

Hu Mei has lived a different life from other people since she was a child, or a different life from other foxes. She is the granddaughter that Mr. Hu San loves very much. She doesn't have to go out to hunt for food by herself since she was a child. Her brother helps with everything.

Hu Mei has lived in this mountain since she was a child. No hunter has ever entered this mountain because all hunters know that there are monsters in this mountain.

Hu Mei longed for life outside the mountains. Although she had heard her parents talk about those ferocious humans since she was a child, she still couldn't stop her curiosity.

So she found an opportunity, sneaked down the mountain, and came to a small city. Hu Mei was very smart. She ran to the cemetery first, dug out a person's skull, transformed into a young woman under the moonlight, and then picked it up.

A few shabby clothes were on.

After transforming into a human form, Hu Mei quickly ran to the city to play. She happily chatted with some people, but she found that these people either looked at her with ill intentions or ignored her at all.

Suddenly, Hu Mei saw an old man carrying a large bunch of candied haws daggers passing in front of her. Hu Mei looked straight at the candied haws. She had heard her parents talk about candied haws since she was a child, but she had never eaten it.

Hu Mei knows that in the human world, if you want other people's things, you need to buy something, money.

She had no money, so she had to follow the old man and look at the candied haws with greediness.

Suddenly a young man in sportswear passed by, looked at the strange and charming boy and asked: "Do you want to eat?"

Hu Mei nodded vigorously, then the young man bought two bunches of candied haws and handed one over: "Here."

Hu Mei was not so thoughtful, so she picked up the candied haws and started eating it. She looked very ugly while eating it, and she ate it all in two or three bites.

"Eat slowly, no one will compete with you." The young man advised.

"There is no such delicious food on the mountain in our hometown."

"In the future, if you are hungry and want to eat, you can come to me in the gym."

Zhang Jie saw that the girl was dressed in rags and thought she was from a poor mountainous area. He quickly said: "Don't think wrongly. I just want to treat you to a meal. There is no other meaning."

Even if there were other meanings, simple Hu Mei couldn't hear it. Hu Mei just felt that this person was nice and could treat her to something.

After that, Hu Mei went to see Zhang Jie for dinner almost every day, and the relationship between the two became increasingly familiar.

Hu Mei also gradually felt that human beings were not as bad as their parents said, at least Zhang Jie was not bad.

Zhang Jie also likes this innocent girl very much. The two of them would go to the river to fly kites or go shopping when they have nothing to do.

"Does this dress look good on me?"

"I heard the food here is delicious. Come on, treat me to some."

"Can you fly the kite higher?"

"This movie is not good at all. How can monsters be so bad?"

Or watching a movie together, Hu Mei felt that she had a strange feeling for Zhang Jie. This feeling was very strange, and she wanted to stay with him all the time. As long as she didn't see him for a moment, she would feel uncomfortable.

That night, Zhang Jie had already bought roses and came to the house he rented for Hu Mei. When he was about to court her, he opened the door and found two middle-aged strangers, a man and a woman, inside.

The problem that Hu Mei had been worried about happened. Although the Hu family agreed to let her come out to play, they would never allow her to fall in love with a human being. Ordinary monsters could do it, but she couldn't because she was the granddaughter of Master Hu San.

Hu Mei stood in the room and stared blankly at Zhang Jie. Just when Zhang Jie was about to speak, Hu Mei said, "I'm going back."

"Going back where?"

"Go back to the mountains, I don't belong in this big city." After saying this, Hu Mei took out a small bottle of water from her hand.

This was given to her by the two people who came from the house. The water of forgetfulness can make people forget the people they love.

"Drink it and you will forget me." Hu Mei told Zhang Jie everything about herself.

"Impossible! I won't drink!" Zhang Jie shook his head.

Suddenly, the middle-aged man on the side punched Zhang Jie down, and then said sternly: "Drink it!"

"Don't drink!" Zhang Jie yelled.

The middle-aged man squatted down and punched Zhang Jie one after another. Soon Zhang Jie's face was covered with bright red blood.

"If you don't drink, you will die, they will kill you." Hu Mei couldn't help but cry. She discovered that love is really a harmful thing.

Zhang Jie no longer had the strength to stand up and said slowly: "If I don't drink, I won't drink even if I die."

Hu Mei slowly picked up the bottle of forgetful water, drank it in her mouth, hugged Zhang Jie and kissed him.

This was their first kiss, and Hu Mei poured the water of forgetfulness into Zhang Jie's mouth.

Hu Mei left, and Zhang Jie completely forgot that there was a person named Hu Mei in his life, or a demon, and all memories disappeared.

Hu Mei spat out the love-forgetting water after she went out. She could make Zhang Jie forget about herself, but she could never forget him. How could she forget someone who liked her so much?

I opened my eyes wide, gasped, and looked around. It was already dawn, and Jingfeng was lying next to me. I rubbed my temples vigorously, and my head hurt.

Was that a dream I just had? Was that what happened when Lao Zhang was young?

No wonder the fox demon wants to kill Lao Zhang’s girlfriend. It turns out there is such a story between them.

I took out my phone and looked at the time. It was already 10:30 in the morning. I pushed Jingfeng next to me, and Jingfeng woke up.

He didn't seem to be in a good mood. It seemed that he had seen the story of the fox demon and Lao Zhang just like me.

"How are you, are you okay?" I took out my cigarettes and threw one over and asked.

"It's nothing, I just feel that this little fox is actually quite pitiful. He kept guarding Lao Zhang, and I still don't understand why he killed Lao Zhang's girlfriend in the end." Jingfeng said strangely.

Neither Jingfeng nor I understood this matter. Later, during a chat with Team Huang, I learned that Lao Zhang’s four girlfriends were actually not living well, and two of them were taking drugs.

Finally, I thought based on these things, it should be that Hu Mei saw that Lao Zhang was planning to marry Li Na. Although I couldn't be with Lao Zhang, I didn't want him to find a drug-addicted woman.

It’s just that the final approach was a bit extreme and implicated many innocent people.

Jingfeng and I had a close call that night. Finally, the monster with the voice of an old woman appeared. I asked Jingfeng who it was. Jingfeng told me not to ask any more questions. He obviously knew about it, but he refused to tell me.

At noon that day, Jingfeng left Chengdu. I sent him to the car. When he left, he sighed at the end: "The lover of the fox fairy is also fruitless. He forgets his love and ends his love."

Unexpectedly, this old grandson is quite a young man.
