Chapter 55 Miners

 Longshouyuan, also called Longshou Mountain.

Legend has it that in ancient times, a black dragon meandered northward from Fanchuan County, Chang'an County to drink from the Wei River. His path turned into the Dragon Head Plain. It was named because the western end rises abruptly from the Wei River and looks like a dragon's head.

Since ancient times, it has been an important place for imperial palaces. The Weiyang Palace of the Han Dynasty and the Daming Palace of the Tang Dynasty are both here.

However, now, without the palace, it has become a mine.

Dozens of gentry families in Xi'an city divided up the mineral resources of Longshouyuan, and they all became fat and strong.

"Now that Sun Chuanting has left Xi'an, we can finally start working freely."

In a certain small gold mine, a fat steward stood tall, held a whip, and walked with a smile.

On the side, another steward in the same dress also laughed: "When he was here, the mine operators were afraid of being caught. Now that he is gone, we have to make up for the losses."

"That's right, I finally feel comfortable."

Next to the two men, hundreds of mine slaves were either sold, cheated, or kidnapped. They were all in ragged clothes and with strong muscles, working tirelessly to move the ore.

However, after years of hard work, there are no long-lived people in this industry. They look strong, but in fact they are just overdrafting their lives.

At noon, the mine slaves gathered together to enjoy the rare beauty of the day - eating.

Three vegetable cakes and a bowl of wild vegetable soup were their meals. Even though the vegetable cakes were so hard that they could kill people, everyone still devoured them.

I couldn't chew it any more, so I just drank the soup.

Among the group of people, Yan Guochao, who is strong and nearly six feet (two meters) tall, stands out.

He directly grabbed three vegetable pancakes. As soon as he sat down, dozens of people presented them with half of the vegetable pancakes one by one. There were about twenty of them in total, and he ate them in one go.

Even though they have seen it many times, everyone is still surprised by its big belly.

Just after he finished eating, a clever miner came over and whispered a few words in his ear.

Yan Guochao frowned with joy, looked around, and then whispered: "I can do it, but others can't. They not only have weapons, but also bows and arrows!"

"It's okay!" The man said softly: "This was brought in from outside!"

Immediately, he took it out in his pocket and found several clay pots. The pots were the size of fists, sealed, and had a fuse.

"What is this?" Five or six clay pots made it difficult for Yan Guochao to understand.

"Light this up and throw it out. It will explode and kill a lot of people!"

"Really?" Yan Guochao was dubious, but finally accepted it.

This is their only chance to escape from this hellish place, and they must not give up.

"It's three o'clock. You are about to break up. Remember, there will be someone outside to pick you up, as soon as possible!"

After a while, everyone started to work again.

Nighttime is very beneficial for miners who are accustomed to darkness.

When he arrived at the mine, Yan Guochao began to win over his cronies and talked about launching a riot.

"Boss, are you reliable?"

"So what if it's unreliable? Anyway, I'm going to die here, so it's better to live happily."

Yan Guochao said in a deep voice: "Don't worry when the time comes, there will be someone outside to help."

Even so, he still felt a little scared.

Death is not that easy to face.

"I hope this will be useful!"

Looking at the torches in the mine tunnel, the entire gold mine seemed dim, but it also hid the blush on his face.

After a busy afternoon, everyone was exhausted and ready to go back to sleep.

Yan Guochao buried the pottery pot in the ore and asked his cronies to hold torches. Yan Guochao walked carefully, and the group was about to dump the last basket of gold ore.

Several stewards and dozens of strong bodyguards were watching with eager eyes, as if the miners were thieves, fearing that they might be caught.

When it was the turn of the last few baskets, Yan Guochao looked at them and took out the clay pots directly from the baskets, and then his trusted aide brought torches.

"Yan Guochao, what are you doing?" The stewards were shocked by this sudden movement.

"Bang!" Yan Guochao saw the fuse of the clay pot being lit and quickly threw it forward, directly to where the steward and others were.

A full five feet away, the clay pot quickly flew over.

"Boom——"

Under the astonished gazes of everyone, the clay pot exploded, erupting with rocks, nails, etc., directly injuring several stewards in the center, leaving them breathless.

Yan Guochao was very happy.

While the guards were panicking, he threw the remaining grenades over them. Dozens of guards ran away in fright, but five or six of them still died.

Yan Guochao hurriedly ran over, picked up the weapons, and raised his arms: "Brothers, pick up the weapons and never work for the evil mine owners again. We are free -"

For a moment, the miners were stunned, and then they were overjoyed. They picked up the weapons that the guards had thrown away as they fled, and rushed out.

Outside Longshou Yuan, Zhu Yixi was constantly watching, waiting for the signal.

"Inspection, don't worry, it will definitely be completed."

Sun Changzhou patted his chest and said seriously.

"I know your Jinyiweimen have a wide range of connections, but mines are different and full of variables."

Zhu Yixi nodded, her expression relaxed a little.

According to the established plan, a riot broke out in the mine. He moved in directly on the pretext of suppressing the riot. In addition, he forged Sun Chuanting's letter and directly sent the miners into the army.

However, if the miners continue as usual, they will have no excuse and can only force their way in, which will easily cause trouble.

"Several waves of people have been arranged, and the leaders are all strong men." Sun Changzhou said hurriedly.

Boom——

Suddenly, there were a dozen or so roars in the distance, and Zhu Yixi was instantly happy.

After waiting for a while, a few people who looked like guards ran out. When they saw the neat army, they were suddenly stunned, and then they were overjoyed: "Master, there is a mob rebelling inside!"

"What?"

Zhu Yixi pretended to be surprised and was ecstatic in her heart: "Come here, set out to suppress the chaos among the people."

Soon, two thousand anti-epidemic troops were dispatched and the riot was suppressed in less than an hour.

It's a pity that we arrived a step too late. Most of the stewards and guards were killed, and only many miners surrendered.

Zhu Yixi hurriedly sent people to count the miners. They found that the number of miners exceeded 4,000, and they were basically all weak men who were most suitable as human shields.

"Are you Yan Guochao?"

The nearly two-meter giant quickly attracted his attention.

"Um!"

Yan Guochao nodded, his broad face full of excitement: "You came to rescue me."

"Are you happy to be a soldier?"

Zhu Yixi smiled.

"I'm happy to be able to leave this death row and have a full meal, which is better than anything else."

Yan Guochao said with great joy, and began to rub his palms as big as cattail leaf fans vigorously.

"OK--"

Zhu Yixi nodded and patted his chest: "From now on, you will be my personal guard, the number one fierce general."

"What about you? Do you also want to be a soldier?"

He asked other miners.

"We do!" the miners couldn't help shouting with joy on their faces.

Zhu Yixi laughed and got several thousand human shields.
