Chapter 770: Supreme Title: Chuluo Khan

After Dayan Khan (the little prince of Mongolia) unified the tribes of Eastern Mongolia, he abolished the feudal lords of different surnames and conferred the title of lords of ten thousand households, thus changing the internal fighting between the golden family Taiji and the lords of the opposite sex in one fell swoop.

Mobei Mongolia is no exception. The Chechen Khan tribe was originally under the direct jurisdiction of the Chahar tribe, but later became independent. Its leader Shuolei called himself "Chechen Khan" and nomadically lived in the Kherulun River area, thus forming the Chechen Khan tribe.

Chechnya means wise, not the Russian state of Chechnya.

In a sense, the moment Shuolei proclaimed himself Khan was equivalent to the Han Dynasty becoming king and establishing an independent khanate, just like the Heshuote Khanate.

While the grass grows long in the southern part of the country and the orioles are flying, the northern part of the desert is covered with sparse green grass.

In addition to water sources, the most important thing between Monan and Mobei is the difference in land fertility, which results in different grass seed nutrition in the grassland.

If in Monan, one hundred acres can support a cow or sheep, but in Mobei, it will need to be expanded to 500 acres, or even a thousand acres, resulting in more nomadic time and greater poverty.

The Chechen Khan tribe inhabited the area of the Kru River, to the east was what was later Manzhouli, and further to the north were the Buryat Mongolian tribes, living on the shores of Lake Baikal.

It can be said that among the three Khalkha tribes, the Chechen Khan tribe is the closest to the Manchu tribe. With the strength of tens of thousands of tribes and dozens of vassal tribes, people have to pay attention to it.

"What did the Chahar Ministry say?"

"That Butali Khan can't make the decision, it should be Governor Xuanda who can agree." Jinong (Prince) Babu couldn't help but said.

"In the past, the Chahar tribe was first dominated by the Manchus and then the Ming Dynasties. Things were really unpredictable..."

"Mongolia is no longer the Mongolia it used to be."

The Chechen Khan sighed, shook his head, then cut off a piece of mutton with a knife, took a big bite, and said after filling his mouth: "The Manchu Qing Dynasty, which was tyrannical for a while, has been beaten to the point where they don't know where to go, and we have to adapt..."

As an independent tribe from the Chahar tribe, the Chechen Khan was somewhat fettered by the Chahar tribe, but in the end he was still in a comfortable mood.

Sighing, the Chechen Khan suddenly said: "There must be more Russians in the west of Lake Baikal recently!"

"Yes." Babu nodded and said, "The Brittians often do business with them and exchange for a lot of gunpowder and muskets."

"I heard that the Manchus also did business with them. It seems they want to counterattack!"

Immediately, the people who went to Chahar returned and brought news:

The Ming Dynasty was willing to trade with it, but it wanted the Chechen Khan to sever ties with the Manchus.

"Go and inform the Tuxie Tuhan tribe and the Zhasaktu tribe that we will form an alliance in Duolun."

Chechen Khan said solemnly.

The three Khalkha tribes are connected by the same spirit and are basically independent from the Chahar tribe. Although there are some conflicts at times, they are all consistent with the outside world.

For example, when dealing with the Manchus, the three ministries presented their submission to Huang Taiji and presented the "Nine White Tributes", that is, eight white horses and one white camel as tribute every year.

On the other hand, the Khalkha Mongols and the four Oirat tribes allied themselves at Tarbachatai in 1640 and concluded the "Mongol Oirat Code" to jointly fight against the Qing Dynasty.

To put it bluntly, the Khalkha tribe wants freedom and does not want to be restricted.

Or later, the Junggar tribe attacked Mobei, forcing the three tribes to completely defect to the Manchus, otherwise they would still be in trouble.

In Duolun, the three Khalkha tribes gathered together, and Chechen Khan, Tushetu Khan, and Zhasaktu Khan reached a consensus to cut off tribute from the Manchu Qing Dynasty and offer the "Nine White Tributes" to the Ming Dynasty.

And the three Khans decided to jointly honor the Ming Emperor as "Gur Khan", also known as Ju'er Khan, which was used by both Yelu Dashi and Jamuhe in history.

Of course, the Chinese translation of the name is very nice, it is called the sweat of the sweats. This kind of sweat cry can be seen everywhere in the grassland, but it can bluff people if it is not resisted.

However, it is different now. The three Khalkha tribes also know that there are traitors in the Ming Dynasty, and they know the Mongolian Khan in detail, so it is difficult to fool them.

Besides, forget about Yelu Dashi, Zhamuhe is Genghis Khan's mortal enemy. If the Ming Dynasty emperor knew about it, wouldn't he be angry?

"How about Ili Khan?"

"No, this is the khan number used by Hulagu Khan. How can it be used by the Ming Emperor?"

Hulagu, the son of Tolei and the younger brother of Kublai Khan, founded the Ilkhanate, one of the four great Mongolian khanates.

Er and Yili all have the same meaning in Mongolian.

After some struggle, Sanhan had a strong desire to survive and immediately changed to "Chuluo Khan".

Chuluo means glory.

This sounds much better than Li Shimin's Tian Khan, who is actually called "Dengli Khan".

But in the Tang Dynasty, the Khan of Heaven was named, which symbolized the prestige of the country, so even the Khan of Heaven had a great reputation.

In fact, in the Manchu Qing Dynasty, only Huang Taiji had "Bogda Chechen Khan". The names of other emperors were all transliterated from their reign names, and they did not hold the title of Khan concurrently.

Mongolians have always been aware of current affairs.

The emperor of the Ming Dynasty was called the Emperor of Heaven (Son of Heaven) in the Mongolian and Manchu contexts, and the Khans, such as Hongwu Khan, Yongle Khan, Jingtai Khan, and Shenzong Emperor were called Wanli Khan.

At the same time, Tsarist Russia began to expand and gradually eliminated the khanates in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Under pressure, these khanates surrendered to the tsar and were called "Chagan Khan" (White Tsar).

The so-called Khan title is actually no more noble than the Emperor. Even according to the tradition for many years, especially after the establishment of the Yuan Dynasty, the title of Emperor officially surpassed that of Khan.

The emperor can canonize the Great Khan, but the Great Khan cannot canonize the Emperor.

For example, the gold medal of Genghis Khan's imperial edict unearthed in Rehe has ten Chinese characters written on the front, "God has given Emperor Genghis the imperial edict to be ill."

Giving the Ming Dynasty emperor the title of Khan simply expresses one meaning: the three tribes of Khalkha obey and respect the Ming Dynasty.

Soon, the news spread to Beijing.

The emperor was quite satisfied with the somewhat Turkic title of "Chuluo Khan".

Glory Khan sounds much better than Ili Khan.

Wait, why does it feel wrong...

"What the hell——"

Zhu Yixi suddenly recalled that this was a mobile phone and milk!

After thinking about it, it felt awkward, but now he could only choose to accept it.

Otherwise, this number can be used not only in Mongolia, but also in Central Asia in the Western Regions. There are many Turkic Mongols, so they can use each other.

"From then on, the Lifanyuan used the title of Chuluo Khan when writing scripts for all Mongolian tribes."

Zhu Yixi pondered for a moment and then issued the edict.

"Your Majesty, the title of Khan is natural."

Du Yinxi has dealt with many affairs of various Mongolian tribes in the past two years, and he is quite experienced: "But does it also need to be spread to the plateau, Chahar and other places?"

"There is a Heshuote Khan on the plateau, so forget it."

Zhu Yixi waved his hand: "Just sign it in Suiyuan, no, just in the Khalkha Mongolian tribes and the Western Regions when writing. The rest of the places are still the old system."

Suiyuan, Chahar, and Ordos have already decided to be fully Sinicized, so there is no need for more disturbances.

The title of Khan is not as good as expected, it just represents the surrender of the three Khalkha tribes.
