1384 Ceres changes hands

A few days later, the alien fleet on the interception mission returned to Ceres. The fleets of both sides were evenly matched, and neither could do anything to the other. Each occupied half of Ceres, and the confrontation turned into a confrontation.

However, the confrontation was only with the fleet. The alien troops underground did not stop for a moment and kept digging in the direction of the artillery array. In order to speed up the progress, countless giant insects died from exhaustion along the way.

Gao Kai knew that there must be a problem underground, but all the servants allocated to the Nanzhou fleet were committed to Ceres. Even if he wanted to take action, there were no servants available. If he had to fight, he could only throw the Marines in.

The situation on Ceres is not yet clear, but deploying marines is definitely not in Gao Kai's plan.

In this way, the enemy troops continued to dig holes in the ground, and even opened up the holes left in the past. After more than ten days, they finally dug near the artillery array.

Whether intentionally or unintentionally, the aliens directly dug through the hole under the artillery array. The enemy soldiers who had been holding back for half a month invaded the hole like a tide, and started a fierce battle with the servants guarding here. The two sides were in the narrow space.

They fought bravely in the cave. Every hole and every corner changed hands repeatedly. The corpses of both the enemy and ours almost blocked the cave.

The resistance of the servants was extremely heroic, but there was a steady stream of attacking enemy soldiers, but each of the servants died. The odds of victory were already tilted towards the enemy, and as a result, they were winning more and more, forcing the defenders to retreat step by step.

.

Gao Kai sighed after receiving the news, but there was nothing he could do about it. He couldn't really throw the Marines in, could he? With that little force, it wouldn't even be enough to fill the gap between the enemy's teeth.

Wouldn't it be nice if the superiors could provide more servants?

That's what Gao Kai thought and did. He sent a report directly and asked his superiors to send more servants, not 10,000 or 20,000, but 50,000 as a starting point.

Huo Qiang almost lost his temper after receiving the application. He didn't have enough for himself, so how could he have any extra servants for Gao Kai? Besides, even if there were extra, it would be too late to send them to Ceres now.

In the end, Gao Kai only got a four-word reply: evacuate in due course.

Gao Kai was discouraged for a while. Is this the time to give up on Ceres? The initial investment is so huge, even if Ceres is a bait, don’t just give up, okay?

At this point, Gao Kai had no other choice but to take one step at a time.

The enemy's attacks are becoming more and more fierce, but the defenders are just the opposite. The troops in every direction are stretched thin.

Faced with this unfavorable situation, Gao Kai decisively ordered the defenders to shrink their forces, voluntarily abandon some unimportant areas, and gather the remaining servants together.

The abandoned areas were not directly thrown to the enemy. Before all troops evacuated, explosives were placed in advance. Nuclear bombs were even placed in important areas. It was good that the enemy did not enter these areas. Once the enemy troops entered, the defenders would immediately detonate the explosives.

, blowing up the entire tunnel, and countless enemy troops were buried in the collapsed tunnel.

If it were on the earth, all the buried enemy soldiers would be out of luck, and at least they would suffer heavy losses. But it is different on Ceres. The result of the gravity being too low is that the weight of the earth and rocks falling in the landslide is insufficient, and only a few enemy soldiers are killed by the falling rocks.

They were directly smashed to death, and the others were buried alive.

Servants can survive in a vacuum, and their carapace is quite strong. Burying them in the soil is not a problem, as long as they are dug out in time.

As a result, after the enemy sent giant insects to dig out the hole in the ground, 60% of the buried enemy soldiers were fine and quickly returned to the battlefield, gradually surrounding the defenders.

Above the defenders is the artillery array. This is the last and most unforgettable area. Even if they know that the situation is not good for themselves, the defenders must be nailed here.

The final attack began. The enemy troops launched attacks from several directions at the same time. Despite the best efforts of the defenders, the outer positions were still eaten away by the enemy soldiers little by little. Our own position was shrinking step by step. Failure was only a matter of time.

Gao Kai kept sighing. When he first threw the servants into Ceres, he really didn't care about these cloned guys at all. But after experiencing a series of battles, both Gao Kai and others had a new understanding of the servants.

Understand and no longer regard these heroic servants as cannon fodder.

Even a kitten or puppy will have feelings after being raised for a long time, not to mention the servants who have been fighting for humans.

A few hours later, the enemy soldiers finally captured the last position of the defenders, the last servant died, and the cave fell into the hands of the aliens.

The aliens learned their previous lessons and immediately launched a carpet search after taking control of the underground space. All trophies were not allowed to be kept. All human items found in the caves were sent away regardless of whether they recognized them or not. None was left in the caves.

Here, even the corpses of servants are no exception.

The aliens thought well, but how could Gao Kai give them a chance? He witnessed the last servant fall with his own eyes. After a moment of silence, Gao Kai gave the order to destroy the No. 2 artillery array.

Gao Kai did not want to destroy the artillery array unless it was absolutely necessary. After all, it was not easy to build this thing. However, the situation was not controlled by anyone. No matter how reluctant he was, he could not let the artillery array fall into the hands of aliens.

The military's research on aliens has never stopped, and biochemical technology, science and technology, and social structure are all under study.

The research department has a view that the most important reason why alien technology has been lost in the long river of history is not the lack of inheritance, but that the alien civilization has exhausted the resources on Europa during its interstellar journey.

This has created favorable conditions for the development and growth of biochemical technology.

In other words, it’s not that aliens don’t understand technological things, it’s just that they gradually declined because they didn’t have the conditions for development. If human technology fell into the hands of aliens and combined with the ancient technology of alien civilizations, there might be some results.

It is precisely because of this argument that the military tries its best to prevent weapons and equipment from falling into the hands of aliens. It would rather destroy them completely than leave them to aliens.

Just like the Summer Bay back then.

As for whether it is useful or not, only God knows.

The communications staff faithfully carried out Gao Kai's orders. The radio waves carried the instructions to the artillery array, and then turned into electric current through the antenna. They got all the way into the control room of the artillery array and activated the nuclear bomb buried underground...a nuclear bomb with an equivalent of 10 million tons.

The ground near the artillery array suddenly trembled violently, and then countless sand and stones flew into the sky instantly. It looked like a stone smashed into the water, but what was splashed was not water splash, but countless sand and stones.

Gao Kai let out a long sigh, feeling as if a five-flavor bottle had been knocked over, and he couldn't tell what it was like.

This explosion killed many enemy soldiers, but Ceres fell into the hands of aliens. No matter how you look at it, the gain outweighs the loss... If he was given tens of thousands more servants, the result would definitely not be this.

Huo Qiang, who was two astronomical units away, also let out a long sigh. Also sighing were Zhuang Bo, Wu Han, Ye Han, etc.
