045 The new head of Warner who is eager for talents

The last time he released a single, Cao Xuan was completely unknown, so he had no choice but to cooperate with Lan Qi and adopt a circuitous promotion strategy on the radio station.

Nowadays, Cao Xuan, who has become well-known in the mainland music scene, has different promotional resources compared to last year.

Needless to say about the radio station, with Jiang Yue as the "hostage" in hand, Cao Xuan doesn't need to worry at all.

In terms of television, Cao Xuan has established some connections with Beijing TV through the last cooperation on "Love to the End", but I dare not say more. The last two programs were not a big problem.

As for the newspaper media, Cao Xuan did various interviews this year and got to know many newspapers and reporters. He spent some public relations money so he didn't have to worry about lack of space.

Even with Cao Xuan's current fame and popularity, some related music or entertainment newspapers, even if they don't pay public relations fees, will take the initiative to help publish the news that Cao Xuan is preparing to release a new album.

The above are Cao Xuan's personal resources. As an album partner, Warner will not just watch and not work.

After all, it is also a well-known major record company. Even though it has not yet fully entered the mainland market, the publicity resources it can mobilize are beyond what Cao Xuan can match personally.

Otherwise, Cao Xuan would not be willing to make so much profit. He could still find a large printing house to record and distribute the goods.

Regarding the album "Starry Stars", Cao Xuan's opinion is to record 800,000 copies, including 500,000 CDs and 300,000 tapes.

The last time "Ten Thousand Reasons" sold genuine copies of 600,000+, Cao Xuan felt that he could be bold this time to avoid being in the same predicament as Lan Qi if it became popular.

However, the person in charge of Warner's contact with Cao Xuan felt that it was too risky and was only willing to agree to fill 500,000 copies, and 300,000 of them were tapes.

After all, the cost of recording the album is fully borne by Warner. If the album is over-recorded and cannot be sold, Cao Xuan does not have to pay a penny, but they will have to pay the loss.

At the critical moment, Zhou Jianhui, the new head of Warner Bros., specially requested the master tape of "Starry Stars" to listen to.

After listening to "Dusk" and "Running", he immediately called the person in charge and asked him to agree to Cao Xuan's request to record 800,000 copies.

After he finished listening to "Fairy Tale", Zhou Jianhui immediately made another call to the person in charge.

"Instead of 800,000, just fill in 1 million. Yes, you heard it right, 1 million.

And most of them have to bring music video CDs, and Taiwan Province also needs to stock up. Believe me, the opportunity for UFOs to be reborn has arrived."

After making the phone call, Zhou Jianhui was still not satisfied. He flew directly from Taiwan Province to Beijing the next day and was personally responsible for the distribution of "Starry Stars".

And when he saw Cao Xuan at Baihua Recording Studio, the first words out of his mouth were...

"How much are you willing to sign with Warner?"

"Mr. Zhou is joking."

Cao Xuan was confused and instinctively humbled himself, but Zhou Jianhui shook his head and expressed his seriousness.

"I really hope you can join Warner Bros. I heard about Nan Ren and Bei Cao in Taiwan Province before. I thought it was a joke at the time, but now I know I was wrong.

The Rolling Stones are now at their peak because of Ren Xianqi. If we at Warner Bros. want to revive the glory of UFO, you are our best choice."

Only then did Cao Xuan realize that Zhou Jianhui was not joking, and he hesitated before saying.

"Sorry, Mr. Zhou, I have no plans to join a record company for the time being."

"What about long-term cooperation?"

Zhou Jianhui was not too disappointed. He had studied Cao Xuan's information before coming here.

He has strong personal creative ability and does not need to rely on record companies to help collect and produce songs.

When he was still a newcomer, he dared to independently release singles. After he became famous, he quickly set up his own studio.

So from the beginning, Zhou Jianhui didn't have much confidence in signing Cao Xuan to Warner Bros. His real goal was to reach a long-term cooperation partner with Cao Xuan.

To put it bluntly, I hope to build Cao Xuan into a golden brand of Warner to attract other singers to join.

Cao Xuan was a little moved by Zhou Jianhui's proposal, but did not agree immediately.

After all, if he signs a cooperation agreement with Warner, it means that his new albums/singles in the next few years will be tied to Warner.

This is not a trivial matter. Cao Xuan must consider it carefully and at least look at the sincerity and strength shown by this cooperation with Warner.

Cao Xuan did not explicitly refuse, but only said that he would consider it, and Zhou Jianhui knew in his heart that the matter would not be settled for a while.

The two briefly chatted about the new album. As the host, Cao Xuan took Zhou Jianhui to find a good restaurant to welcome him.

Cao Xuan was interested in making connections, and Zhou Jianhui was determined to win over Cao Xuan, the "great talent". They had a pleasant conversation at the banquet table.

Zhou Jianhui also joked with a smile that the Taiwanese media hurt Cao Xuan so badly last year, and I really want to see how they hurt themselves this year.

Cao Xuan is also looking forward to it, but he also knows that the probability of this happening is too low.

After all, "self-deception" and "fish memory" are old traditions of Taiwanese media and have remained unchanged for decades...

………

And when Cao Xuan and Zhou Jianhui met, "Twilight" and "Angel Wings", which were later sent to the radio station for pre-heating, began to gradually gain momentum.

Time has come to April, and the songs that dominated the charts at the beginning of the year have gradually lost popularity. The most active one now is the title song of Naying's new album, "Conquer."

During the Spring Festival Gala, she and Wang Fei sang a song called "Meet at 98", which made Naying's popularity soar, and she became the queen of mainland pop music.

Taking advantage of the remaining momentum, [EMI Records], the company behind Naying, is determined to go all out to build Naying and firmly establish her as the queen of the mainland.

EMI spent a lot of money to invite many well-known music producers to tailor Naying's new album "Conquest".

The songs in this album are of extremely high quality.

The title song of the album's title track "Conquer", a fighting song, has since become Na Young's most widely circulated masterpiece.

The popular Spring Festival Gala hit "Meet Me in 1998" also recorded a solo song by Na Young.

There are also many excellent songs such as "No matter how painful it is" written based on Naying and Gaofeng's relationship, as well as "Wake Up from the Dream", "You Are Mine", "What Attitude", "Love This Day", etc.

In addition, Queen Wang Fei, who is also under EMI Records, was willing to do the green leaf and personally helped Na Young with her harmonies.

It can be said that "Conquest" is Naying's most valuable album since her debut.

EMI and Naying are ambitious and hope to use this album to firmly enhance her status in the music industry and even catch up with Wang Fei.

The "Conquest" album is scheduled to be released on April 15th in mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

At the end of March, EMI began to release "Conquer" and "Meet Me in 1998" to hit the charts.

In just one week, the two songs have begun to reach the top of major music charts, and "Conquer" has even begun to occupy the top of some rankings.

And at this moment, the song "Dusk" came out halfway.

On April 6, "Dusk" and "Angel Wings" debuted on Beijing Radio for the first time.

On that day alone, Beijing Radio Station received more than a dozen requests for the two songs. After China Central Radio broadcasted the two songs, the radio station's request rate for the two songs soared rapidly.

On April 8, "Dusk" appeared on the China Central Radio Music Chart for the first time, starting at No. 8.

The next day, "Angel Wings" also appeared on the CCTV list, ranking 12th, while "Dusk" had already reached the top six.

Entering mid-April, "Dusk" repeatedly defeated strong enemies in the rankings, and its momentum was close to that of "Conquer". Cao Xuan's melancholy and sad songs began to be heard in the streets and alleys across the country.

"Dusk" is a hit!
