Chapter 10 The Magical Life

The extremely large villa is surrounded by high walls, and black iron railings form the outermost gate. Guarding the door are two soldiers wearing silver-gray chainmail, preparing for a gorgeously decorated car.

The noble carriage opens the iron door.

"It seems like there's a dance going on?" Lucien was not a mad magician who didn't understand the common sense of life among nobles. Combined with the brightly lit conditions of the villa, he could tell what was going on inside at a glance.

After hesitating for a moment about whether to come back later, Lucien quickly made up his mind. He was already at the door anyway, why were he worried about this and that?

The magic wave on his body flashed insignificantly, and Lucien walked to the door at an unhurried pace.

Because nobles attach great importance to dignity and grace, the dance will come in a carriage no matter how close it is to their home. Therefore, Lucien, who approaches like a commoner, is obviously not an invited guest, and the two soldiers will step forward to stop him.

.

But at this moment, they suddenly felt that Lucien was full of majesty, graceful, and had the crest of the Hoffenberg family on his chest. He was obviously a noble of extremely high status, so they lowered their heads, opened the door, and welcomed this guest.

"A simple spell can pass the guard..." Lucien shook his head slightly as he entered the door. Using knights to guard the door could only protect against ordinary people. Fortunately, there were knights from the kingdom's intelligence department in the dark, but they knew each other without a doubt.

He said, "I have to find an opportunity to set up some warning magic traps to prevent the church from attacking Uncle Joel and the others."

Although the church does not act without scruples like a cult like the Silver Horn, it is always better to be prepared, and there are many lunatics among the Night Watch.

The weather in July was scorching hot, but Rentat, which was only a few hours away from the seaside, was still relatively cool at night. Lucien, bathing in the evening breeze, walked on the Garden Avenue, smelling the rich fragrance of flowers, as if blending into the shadows.

The few noble carriages that came to attend the ball later failed to notice that there was such a person walking on the roadside.

The garden is not big, so Lucien quickly came to the vicinity of the three-story villa. All the magic crystal lamps inside were lit up, making the villa look beautiful. The night scenes common on the earth were revealed here.

The breath of splendor.

On the steps of the villa, Elisa, who was still so strong, held up her Aalto-style palace dress tightly, and took several maids to welcome guests one after another.

"There are more noble ladies than normal..." Lucien was slightly confused, then took a gentle breath and walked directly towards Alyssa.

Alyssa's face was filled with a smile, and she looked at the noble ladies who came to the ball with joy, and greeted the guests enthusiastically. After many years of aristocratic life, she was no longer as restrained as in the past, and she looked generous and decent.

Her son John was the Grand Knight brought by Her Majesty the Queen from Alto and was obviously put into great use. He was responsible for the affairs of some squads of the Knights of the Sword of Truth. The nobles naturally looked up to her and were proud to attend the ball she held.

"Viscount Turner, Madam, Miss Kelly, welcome to this ball." Alisa greeted the new guests with a smile on her face, and was especially enthusiastic about the tall, slender and gentle girl, who had a personality different from Holm's.

Style blonde with blue eyes.

Viscount Turner knew the purpose of Alisa's ball and nodded with a smile: "It is our honor to attend the ball held by Madam."

And Kailin responded generously and politely with aristocratic etiquette.

"It will be some time before the dance starts. Take Viscount Turner and the others to the small living room to have a rest." Alisa ordered the servants around her.

When the Turners entered, Alisa was smiling again, ready to welcome the new guests, but the familiar man with black hair and black eyes on the steps made her stunned for a moment, and the smile froze on her face, in disbelief.

He rubbed his eyes and looked like he was still dreaming.

She had never seen him wearing a black double-breasted gown, but it fit him so well and matched his temperament. The kid in her heart seemed to turn into a mature and steady man in an instant. Alisa's eyes rolled with emotion.

The ground turned red, and he opened his mouth slightly and muttered: "Little Evans?"

"Aunt Alisa." Lucien stabilized his mood and walked towards Alisa with a smile.

Alisa still looked like she was dreaming and shook her head in disbelief. The surprise of meeting him again was entangled with the shame of having reported on him: "Little Evans?"

"What's wrong? Aunt Alisa, you don't recognize me anymore?" Lucien chuckled.

Lucien's kind and non-alienated attitude made Alisa's other emotions disappear, leaving only excitement and joy. She forgot the aristocratic demeanor that she had worked hard to develop over the past few years, and started crying as if she had been in the slums.

While rubbing her eyes, she spoke very quickly: "Little Evans, have you really come back to see us? I thought you hated me for betraying you."

"That's what I asked you to do, isn't it?" Lucien smiled and hugged Aunt Alisa, "In my heart, you are like my family."

"Oh, this, this is really great." Alyssa looked at Lucien excitedly, "Little Evans, you have grown taller, so much taller than before!"

She gestured with Lucien's original height with her right hand tremblingly. Years of repression and self-blame finally came out. Without waiting for Lucien's reply, she pulled him inside: "I have to, I have to tell Joel, tell

Little John, Little Evans is finally back!"

The servant next to him looked at the mistress with tears streaming down her face curiously, and did not dare to remind her that she still had to welcome the guests, so she had to find the housekeeper to support the scene.

Along the way, Alisa was crying and nagging, thinking that Lucien was taller but thinner and haggard, which attracted many guests to look at him and wonder what happened.

When she was almost approaching the small living room, Alisa stopped her tears, took out a white handkerchief to wipe her eyes, and then patted her forehead: "I, I forgot, Little John is still in Nexor Palace, so I have to wait a moment.

It’s just over, Joel was invited by the Musicians Association and he hasn’t come back yet!”

"It's okay, I'll wait..." Before Lucien finished speaking, Alyssa was just spinning around in circles, excited and flustered: "I have to tell them, tell them you're back.

, go and tell them immediately! Little Evans, you go to the small living room and take a rest, I will call them to urge you!"

After saying that, she rushed to the study in a hurry, forgetting to guide Lucien to the small living room.

Seeing Aunt Alisa's excited and happy state, Lucien didn't mind being "forgotten" by her. Instead, he smiled and shook his head. He felt warm in his heart. He should have come back long ago.

Without any restraint, Lucien seemed to have returned to his own home. He walked into the small living room accurately and saw Viscount Turner's family and several other aristocratic guests. They were communicating with each other with slightly curious eyes.

He looked at the stranger Lucien.

In the center of the living room, a strange and exquisite machine rotates a black disc and plays melodious and clear music, filling the room with a romantic and elegant atmosphere.

After lightly nodding in greeting, Lucien walked to the wall familiarly and opened the hidden magic refrigerator. The crystal lamp inside lit up, reflecting the refrigerated champagne and other drinks.

Lucien calmly pulled out the champagne cork, poured himself half a glass, and then took out small ice cubes from the upper layer of the magic refrigerator. Just as he was about to close the door of the magic refrigerator, a male voice in the period of voice change came from behind: "This is it.

The magic refrigerator, an alchemical item invented by the great Lucien Evans, allows us to enjoy refreshing coldness at any time in the hot summer."

Huh? Lucien felt very strange when his name was spoken by others in this way, and he didn't know how to answer it for a moment.

The 13-14-year-old boy in a small suit at the back has a typical Holm-style appearance, with black hair and blue eyes, deep facial features, and a slightly delicate look. When he saw Lucien didn't answer, he thought he didn't know about the magic refrigerator.

Origin, he enthusiastically introduced to him: "This kind of magic refrigerator is produced in very small quantities, and can only be enjoyed by the great nobles and a few ordinary noble families. It is the crystallization of the popularization of alchemy products and their integration into daily life. I have only seen it at other banquets.

"

"Well, the popularization of alchemy items into daily life is a concept proposed by the great alchemist Lucien Evans. This has fundamentally changed our lives, hasn't it?"

The little boy seemed to have great respect for Lucien and had a very cheerful personality.

"Of course, I like this kind of life." Lucien looked at the little boy with a smile.

The little boy was very happy to be recognized: "Viscount Wellesley is one of the most valued knights by Her Majesty the Queen. His family has many novel alchemical items. Alchemy items that only belong to the nobles for the time being. My cousin likes that magic machine.

The gramophone allows us to enjoy all kinds of wonderful music without a band, and even fall asleep with the music."

When he spoke, he pointed at Karen. The cousin in his mouth seemed to refer to her, and Wellesley was John's last name.

Seeing Lucien's eyes following the little boy's gesture, Kailin smiled politely and said, "Not long after the magic gramophone was invented, this was the first time I saw it and I liked it very much."

The little boy happily added: "This is also the design idea proposed by Mr. Evans."

Lucien nodded slightly. He knew better than him. A few years ago, he told the senior executives of the Will of the Elements about the magic gramophone, hoping to simplify the magic array for storing sounds. However, due to the lack of good storage materials, he has been unable to find a good storage material.

It was not successful until a few months ago, when Gaston's "Living Substance Synthesis Laboratory" accidentally discovered a natural resin material that could be used to simplify the magic gramophone.

"Actually, Viscount Wellesley's family also has a special alchemy item." Kailin seemed to like this kind of magical life. She became interested in the little boy's eloquent story and pointed to the hanging lamp in the room.

Silver-gray box: "I once saw it at a banquet at Duke James's house. It is a magic air conditioner that can keep the temperature cool in the summer. In winter, it can be used with the fireplace to dispel the cold."

"Really?" The little boy had never noticed the magic air conditioner at a high place before. He looked up with his eyes wide open, looking very interested.

Kailin smiled and said: "You can feel the cool breeze from it, and it is also the masterpiece of the great arcanist Lucien Evans."

"Oh, really, it's great!" The little boy circled excitedly, "Cousin Kailin, I must learn magic in the future. I want to become a great magician and alchemist!"

Viscount Turner teased his nephew: "Hoke, try to win the Holm Crown Award."

"Well." The little boy shook his finger proudly, "The Holm Crown Award is not my goal, the Lucien Evans Award is! When you attend parties in the future, if someone asks who this is, you will be honored.

The introduction is that this is Mr. Hawke, the winner of the Evans Arcane Award. Uncle, let me tell you that cousin Kailin also wants to win the Lucien Evans Award, but her goal is the Evans Medical Award."

"It would be so honorable if our family had two Evans Award winners." Turner looked at his daughter with a smile.

After being exposed by Hawke in front of strangers, Kailin was a little shy, changed the subject, and asked Lucien: "Sir, I don't know what to call you?"

Lucien rubbed his chin with his right hand: "You can call me Lucien = Evans."
