Chapter Fourteen: A Fatal Reunion

"You are... Dane! You are really Dane! You are not dead! Oh my god! You are actually alive!"

Cherki looked at that all-too-familiar face, and the look on his face suddenly changed from panic to shock.

He took two steps forward and reached out tremblingly to touch Dan's face, but was slapped away by Dan with a look of disgust.

"Hey! We haven't seen each other for decades. You have indeed changed a lot, but you have definitely become more fond of men, right?"

"Get out! You bastard! You only like men! Tell your first mate how you climbed out of that ship in the first place?" Cherki was a little annoyed by Dane's ridicule, but then he laughed.

Laughed loudly.

He patted the old man in front of him on the shoulder and asked with curiosity: "You are still so young! And look at the muscles on your shoulders! Tsk! Tell me honestly, did you get it under that trench?"

What kind of treasure can you keep looking like this?"

"Dear Mr. First Mate, do we have to reminisce in this alley full of rats? Why don't you find a better place to chat with us?"

Dann took a step back and said to Cherki with a warm smile on his face.

For some reason, the old man always felt that the old guy in front of him didn't like others touching his body.

"Okay, okay! You kid...but who are they? Are they your friends?"

Cherki still maintained basic vigilance. His intuition told him that there seemed to be something wrong with this touching scene of reunion after a long absence that suddenly appeared in front of him.

Since Dann is still alive, why didn't he come to them before?

And that time at the fish market, since they both saw each other, why did Dan run away?

Also, since Dan was determined to meet him, when was the best time to meet him? Why did he lead two people to meet him at the corner of an alley in the middle of the night?

What gave him the most uneasy premonition was that Dan En's face had not changed at all from decades ago.

Was this guy lucky enough to not only survive the shipwreck but also get another opportunity?

Or is there some other hidden secret in this?

The more Cherki thought about it, the more he felt something was wrong. His right hand once again slowly touched the short knife that had just been taken back from Dann's hand.

"Them? They are some of my new friends... Come, come here, let me introduce you to them." Dann still had a friendly smile on his face, and he didn't pay any attention to Cherki's little moves. Instead, he looked behind him.

He waved his hand and motioned for the other two men in black robes to come forward.

"These two are Marcy and Perot, companions sent to me by the 'God of Evolution'."

"The God of Evolution? What is that? Dann, you are a sailor, and you will be punished by God if you change your belief in Lady Mist without authorization!"

Hearing Dan's words, Cherki's brows furrowed even more tightly, and he began to move quietly, trying to move to the alley next to him.

The gods that all sailors who make a living at sea believe in or are superstitious are the legendary "Mist Lady", which is also a fictional deity referred to as "Mist Lady". The crew members pay tithes to the Mist Lady and pay tithes to her every time they go to sea.

Pray devoutly for Lady Mist’s blessing.

In the past, Dann and he were both devout believers in Ms. Fog. He had never even heard of that "God of Evolution" before today!

Why did Dan suddenly change his belief in Mist Lady and believe in some damn "god of evolution"?

Cherki already felt something was wrong.

The guy standing in front of him now seems to be Dann on the surface. The real Dann will never abandon Lady Fog!

Just when Cherki had slowly moved himself to the edge surrounded by three people, Dann's voice with a friendly smile rang in his ears again, but this time, Cherki could

The coldness in the laughter was clearly heard.

"Where do you want to go, dear Mr. First Mate?"

Gudu...

Cherki's whole body froze, and the cold sweat that had stopped on his forehead broke out again.

Bless the mist girl! If you really have a spirit in heaven, let me, old Cherki, have another good luck and escape from the weird situation we are facing now!

Cherki prayed silently in his heart. He swore that since he began to worship Lady Mist, this was the first time he had prayed so devoutly in his heart to this goddess who did not actually exist at all.

"I feel...I'm a little uncomfortable right now...maybe...maybe we can meet again some other time?"

He pressed his back firmly against the dirty wall beside the alley, and his clothes were already soaked with cold sweat.

"Another day? We haven't seen each other for such a long time. I thought you would really like to see my old friend!

You disappoint me so much, first mate!"

However, Cherki's words stimulated Dann's nerves, and the expression on his face suddenly became extremely ferocious.

Dann moved towards Cherki's position step by step. The other two men in black robes also blocked Cherki's retreat on both sides, walking towards him one on the left and the other on the right.

"Don't be like this, Dane, don't be like this...I...I saved your life! Remember? I saved your life!"

Cherky pulled out the dagger desperately and shouted at the top of his voice.

Firstly, he was indeed frightened by this strange scene, and secondly, he hoped that the cry for help would attract the attention of others.

It's a pity that the reason why Dan and the others had to wait until Cherki walked to this place before taking action was that the area was very far from the main road.

Although he was quite sure that with the strength of the three of them, they would be able to forcefully complete the task even if they were discovered, but in any case, it was of course best to avoid unnecessary complications.

"You saved my life, that's right, but the God of Evolution also saved my life! And the God of Evolution not only saved me, but also gave me a broad road to becoming a human being!

"

Dann whispered with a fervent expression, and at the same time reached out his hand and grabbed the old Cherki's shoulder.

"Look at me now! My strength! My body! I have never felt so powerful and full!

Come with me, first mate, and you will have this power too!"

"No...no! Let me go! What do you want?! What do you want! I won't go with you! Old Cherki won't go with you!"

Cherki struggled wildly, and his instinct told him that if he was really captured by this group of people, the consequences would definitely not be what he wanted.

"Give up the struggle! You can't escape!" Dan's hands were just like iron pliers on Cherki's shoulders. No matter how hard he struggled, these hands never wavered.

"No. 6, we don't have time, hurry up and deal with him!" Just when Dan was about to persuade Cherki, another man in black robes behind him suddenly patted him on the shoulder, indicating that he didn't have much time.

Solve the problem quickly.

"Okay, you forced me to do this, Mr. First Mate..." Dane, known as "No. 6", sighed, and a captivating light suddenly flashed in his eyes.

Old Cherki was shocked by the sight, and his whole body suddenly softened.

"Take him, let's go!" Dann looked at the old Cherki who was lying limply in the corner and nodded. A man in black robes behind him immediately stepped forward and put the old man on his shoulders.

He walked towards the direction of the noble district at an extremely fast speed.

Behind them, the shadow insects also spread their wings, and under the guidance of the supervisory king insect, they followed the three men in black robes.
