Chapter 356: Attrition

"Hoo, hoo, hoo"

In the forest at night, a figure with blood on his face was running fast through the forest.

There is no goal, no plan, there is only one belief in my heart, and that is to run.

The steps became heavier and heavier, and the lack of oxygen in the brain caused by strenuous exercise made Kurt feel dizzy.

He leaned on a big tree, breathing heavily, feeling that his lungs were about to explode, and his mind went blank.

It was terrible, so terrible. An hour ago, Julie had her head chopped off with a saw by a mad woman right in front of him.

Kurt was not without resistance. He attacked like crazy, swung his fist at the crazy woman, and fought with her.

The crazy woman suddenly didn't realize that no matter how many times she was knocked down by him, she could stand up and pounce on her again, giggling from her mouth.

Kurt was frightened. His right arm was sawed during the fight, and he could no longer use his entire arm. His instinct drove him to run away in panic.

And on the way to escape, he also met a little girl. The little girl was holding a short knife, and half of her face was rotten, just like a zombie in Resident Evil.

The only thing that pleased Kurt was that neither the crazy woman nor the little girl who was suspected of being a zombie ran very fast.

Otherwise, Kurt really doesn't know what his fate will be, whether his head will be sawed off like his girlfriend Julie.

Thinking of the scene of his girlfriend's tragic death, Kurt's nose felt sore and he covered his mouth with his left hand.

They once vowed to each other and said they would never be separated for the rest of their lives.

The fact is that his girlfriend died tragically in front of him, but he could do nothing but run away like a lost dog. His powerlessness and guilt deeply tortured him.

"Keke" Kurt was silent in grief. Before he could continue to think about it, a strange laughter suddenly came from his ears.

Kurt raised his head in panic, trying to find the source of the sound.

He was so familiar with this kind of laughter that he would never forget it in his life. It was in this weird giggle that Julie had her head chopped off by the mad woman.

"Come out, I'm not afraid of you, you monster!" Kurt covered his right arm with his left hand and yelled crazily.

As soon as I saw it, a crazy woman with long hair and shawl walked out of the forest. She was walking unsteadily, dragging a rusty hacksaw in her hand.

Behind her, there was a little girl. The girl was holding a short knife, half of her face was rotten, and she was looking at herself with her head tilted, as if she was saying, let's play together.

"I'm not afraid of you!" Kurt pretended to be calm, picked up the stone from the ground, and threw it forward with all his strength.

The crazy woman and the little girl approached step by step. Occasionally, their bodies were tilted when they were hit by stones, but it did not affect their movements.

The two sides were still five meters apart. The mad woman raised her hacksaw and the little girl raised her dagger.

Kurt finally couldn't help it anymore, fear came over him like a tide, and he subconsciously stepped back step by step, hoping to create a safe enough distance.

After a few steps, he stumbled under his feet whether it was a tree root or a stone.

Kurt screamed and fell to the ground, rolling and crawling forward, like a frightened alpaca, completely losing the confidence to resist.

Whoosh!!!

After crawling out for three to five steps, I heard the sound of breaking wind.

Kurt groaned, feeling a pain in his back, and fell heavily to the ground.

Looking back, the crazy woman holding a hacksaw was already standing beside him, and the rusty hacksaw was cutting towards his neck.

“No, no, no!!!”

Kurt lay on the ground and crawled forward, his nose filled with tears and his voice choked with sobs.

Two seconds later, with a scream, the forest returned to silence, as if nothing had happened.

"there's noise!"

In the small house, Wang Xu twitched his ears twice, and his eyes seemed to have passed through the dark night and saw the unknown depths.

Dana and Hodder in the room gathered around nervously and asked, "Is it Kurt?"

"It's kind of like, let's go out and take a look."

Wang Xu locked Buckner to the pillar, led Dana and the others out of the door, and went straight to the source of the sound.

After walking out for more than a mile, Wang Xu smelled the smell of blood before he could find anyone.

Taking Huo De's flashlight and shining it on the ground, Wang Xu frowned, while Dana and others took a breath.

When he saw it, Julie's head was lying on the ground, next to her headless body, and the blood had dyed the grass red.

"Julie!" Dana covered her mouth, her face extremely pale with fear.

Wang Xu shook his head and continued to move forward. After walking for more than a mile, he found Kurt who was sawed into pieces under a big tree.

"It's because we came late. If we could have come earlier, maybe Kurt wouldn't have done it." Dana's voice choked up and she couldn't continue.

Hodder stepped forward to hug her and comforted her: "It's not our fault. We have tried our best. No one knew that this would happen."

"Yeah, there aren't that many things in the world. If we had known this would happen, we wouldn't have gone on vacation. It's too late to say anything now." Martin also spoke, indicating that Dana shouldn't blame herself too much.

Dana also knew this. When things got to this point, it was useless to blame this or that.

But thoughts are thoughts and facts are facts. Julie and Kurt died so tragically, which still left her a little at a loss.

"You three stay here and don't go anywhere. I'll go find Vivian and Anna and come back." Wang Xu glanced around and added before leaving: "If you encounter danger, remember to fight bravely. I

Will be back soon."

"I, let's go with you." Huo De's face was a little stiff, obviously unwilling to leave Wang Xu too far.

Wang Xu shook his head and said in denial: "No need, I am very fast and you can't keep up with me. If you are really scared, just climb up a tree. It is safer up there."

The Berkner family are all living dead, because they are already dead and their body coordination is not good.

The living dead cannot perform technical tasks such as climbing trees. Trees are a good safe zone.

After a few words of warning, Wang Xu disappeared into the night before anyone could say anything.

The fourth wave of attacks will come in more than seven hours, and Wang Xu will not be able to take care of Dana and the others.

If the Berkner family is not cleared out, when the fourth wave of attacks comes, without his protection, these ordinary people will still be unable to escape death.

For the sake of Dana and the others, who went to the forest to look for him with flashlights, Wang Xu decided to help them.

As for how much help can be given, it all depends on the situation. After all, it's up to people to make things happen, and Wang Xu just wants to have a clear conscience.

"Vivian, Anna, where are you?"

Walking through the forest, Wang Xu called softly, looking for the Buckner family.

A few minutes later, Wang Xu saw Anna squatting by the river.

Hearing footsteps behind her, Anna turned her head slightly, revealing half of her rotten face in the moonlight.

Wang Xu clapped his hands and said: "Anna, come here quickly, I will take you to find your father."

Anna held a short knife in her hand, tilted her head and looked at Wang Xu, limping towards her at a speed close to that of an ordinary person.

When she was five meters away, Anna started to speed up and raised the short knife in her hand.

Looking at the bloody dagger, Wang Xu shook his head slightly and said, "Anna, you bad boy!"

Wang Xu took action instantly, grabbed Anna's hands, and folded them down hard.

Click!!!

There was a crisp sound, and the little girl's hands were immediately broken, and the dagger fell to the ground feebly.

Without the weapon, Anna looked very impatient and opened her mouth to bite Wang Xu.

Before she could succeed, Wang Xu put his hand on the top of her head, like he was controlling a ball with one hand, and carried her deep into the forest.
