The meaning of this passage is that not wanting what you want, suppressing the desires in your heart, and not being influenced by desires, is something that only a saint can do.
Throughout the ages, there have been very few such people, or people with such character.
In this way, the new learning meets the needs of all parties, how can it not be successful?
