Chapter 628 Rat

Thales stood in the middle of the study, pointing to the invitation on the ground with a look of despair: "Are you ready?"

"etc."

 Asheida stopped him.

The magician looked at him faintly and slowly raised a finger:

 “This time, try this.”

Thales was stunned:

 “Which one to try?”

Before the words fell, the wind started to rise.

I saw the broken chair with a corner missing rising from behind the desk and flying towards Thales!

Tiel was immediately shocked and he subconsciously raised his hands.

“What the hell are you doing?”

  咚!

The chair fell to the ground and made a loud noise.

The next second, an urgent knock on the door sounded:

“Your Highness, Your Majesty the Duke! What happened? Please answer me!”

“We have to go in, please get out of the way.”

"No, let's count to three, one, two, three."

boom!

There was another loud noise, and the two men on duty, Second Class Pioneer Officer Leo Morgan and Second Class Guard Officer Jose Cuesta, worked together to open the door and rushed into the room. They all stopped again, eyes wide open.

.

 “Your Highness?”

I saw Thales with his back to the two guards, lying on the chair in a strange posture.

“Leo, Jose, wow, it’s you tonight.”

Thales turned around with difficulty and forced a smile:

“It’s okay, it’s just that when I was exercising, hey, there was a smelly mouse causing trouble..."

Morgan and Custa turned around to check: the entire study was empty, and except for the two candlesticks that were out, everything was normal.

“But, Your Highness, your nose...” Guards Custa spoke with a strong thorny accent. He looked at Thales, who was lying on the chair with his butt raised, and hesitated to speak.

Thales calmly took out his handkerchief and wiped the blood under his nose.

“It’s okay, it’s okay, you know, puberty.”

 He waved his hand:

 “Get out.”

Morgan nodded, walked to the candlestick and lit the candle again.

“But” Cuesta wanted to say something else.

“Go out, go out.” Duke Xinghu gritted his teeth.

Morgan grabbed Cuesta and bowed to Thales:

“If you need help, Your Highness, we are at the door.”

So Thales watched them leave and closed the door.

The young man breathed a sigh of relief and looked at Asheida who had reappeared at some point. He was furious and said, "I thought you blocked the sound!"

“I did block it.” The magician thought thoughtfully.

“However, the interference and mutual repulsion between the magic powers of different thresholds and different magic masters cannot be ignored, second only to the impact of the legendary anti-magic weapons on the magic power.”

Thales was a little confused by this string of nouns, and coupled with the embarrassment in front of him, he patted the chair under him and said unhappily:

“Well, please, next time you want to do this again, can you...send an invitation in advance?”

Asheida stared at the chair and said nothing.

“This chair was supposed to last another week, but now...”

Thales let go of his hand angrily:

The poor chair immediately split into two neat halves and fell to both sides.

 “Thank you so much!”

Okay, how should I tell everyone this?

His Majesty the Duke fell off a broken chair with a corner missing, and got a nosebleed. In a fit of anger, he mercilessly struck out with his sword, leaving the poor chair dead without any body parts?

But the Qi Magician just walked slowly to Thales' side and motioned for him to be silent.

"Starting now, I want to ask you some questions. You must pay full attention and speak carefully." Aixida spoke softly, but extremely seriously. "Slow down and speak word by word. If I ask you to stop, you will

Shut up immediately and don't say a word."

But Taylor’s anger is not gone yet:

“What if I ‘talk too much’? So what?”

Asida glanced at him, her eyes cold and full of murderous intent.

 Taylors choked.

He sniffed, feeling the full smell of blood, feeling unhappy:

"All right."

Aishida observed the symmetrically separated chair:

 “What is this ability?”

“I don’t know what this is, nor how I learned it. It looks like Rolf’s superpower, or some street magician’s trick.” Thales said angrily.

But my powers and tricks won’t make me scream for help and run for my life every day.

"No."

Asheida stared at the chair obsessively, but shook her head in denial.

"Superpowers are the natural evolution of life, and magic is deception in disguise. But this," the chair floated in front of the magician's eyes, accompanied by his ethereal and melodious voice, "this is beyond the scope of our understanding and is completely unreasonable.

Same."

Thales wiped away the nosebleed without any interest:

"whatever."

 “It…what can you influence?”

“Small objects,” Thales said listlessly, “the smaller the target, the better, the lighter the better, the closer the better, the simpler the better, for example, paper, leaves, hair?”

“And if the target is too big, heavy, far away, or even too complex in structure, I will have nosebleeds and dizziness. If I use it frequently..."

Aishida narrowed her eyes: "Will it hurt?"

Tales recalled the thrilling escape from the Prison of Bones.

 “No, it’s better than that...”

Thales twitched the corners of his lips, expressionless:

"will die."

Aishida thought for a while and nodded leisurely:

"interesting."

"Most of the time, it's like reaching out to reach something far away," Thales helplessly picked up half of the chair on the ground, then walked up to the magician with no dignity, and grabbed the half floating in the air.

Come down and push them to the corner, "But occasionally, a few times, when I reach out, I feel, I feel more than just reaching out, but more like..."

Having said this, Aixida suddenly turned around:

 “Stop!”

Thales was startled by the sudden interruption.

Aixida closed her eyes and spoke after a few seconds:

"How long?"

 “This thing?”

Thales cursed Xiao Cunbeng in his heart while adjusting himself: "I have been practicing for half a year. Every time I am tortured, my back hurts and I can't get out of bed. Now I have figured out something."

 Aishida suddenly opened her eyes:

"stop!"

Thales choked again, like a lump in his throat, and felt extremely uncomfortable.

Day, come again?

"Remember my words, be careful with your words," the magician said carefully, "You said you found a way, what way?"

 Tales swallowed his throat.

“Let’s put it this way, one time I got tired of practicing with paper and wanted to try a different bridle. As a result, the rope was so thick and hard that it turned into a rope in my hands.”

“Stop!” the magician’s warning sounded at the right time.

Hold.

Thales flattened his mouth and changed the subject:

“Anyway, I had to throw it into the sewer. Of course, under normal circumstances, just locking the target is not easy.”

Aishida grasped the key points keenly:

"Usually?"

Tales shrugged:

“Yes, everything is easy when you knock on the door. It is as natural as breathing and drinking water.”

 Asheida raised her hand again:

"stop!"

  Thales sighed helplessly.

Can you still speak properly?

Asheida fell silent and thought to herself.

“I know, this feels weird, right?”

The prince, who looked unhappy because of being interrupted many times, sneered:

"You are very curious and want to know more about exploration, but because of the first appointment with magic power, you have to desperately restrain your impulses, resist temptation, and keep telling yourself that you can't go deeper, you can't continue, you must stop..."

He looked at Asheida, whose eyes were shining with blue light, and showed a sinister and cunning smile:

“Then you want to know more, do you want more? Hey, I can give it all to you...”

Asheida's eyes flashed with blue light.

“Ahhhhh, air, air...I was wrong teacher!”

The blue light flashed again. The Duke of Xinghu, who was inferior to one person but superior to ten thousand people, regained the right to breathe freely. He lay on the desk and gasped pitifully.

“So, the first covenant of magic energy,” Thales turned around as he was dying, “What is the original purpose of its existence?”

Aishida didn’t speak. He stared at the chair in the corner and said quietly:

 “For ourselves.”

 That’s nonsense again.

Thales sighed. Without his chair, he could only turn over and sit on the desk.

“Okay, I’ve given you what you asked for and answered your questions. Can we get back to the topic? Before I die from excessive blood loss?”

The young man knocked on the table and said impatiently:

“Now, among the three magicians, what do you want?”

The blue light in the magician's eyes gradually extinguished, and he turned around with his hands behind his back. His silhouette in the study looked cold and ethereal.

 “You really want to know?”

"I said, the more you hide from me," Thales shook the handkerchief stained with nosebleeds in boredom, "the more likely I will stumble on something I don't know about."

"What's more, aren't we students and guides? We are so close and trust each other, we can be called model teachers and students..."

Aishida suddenly spoke:

“Answer me: Who won the Endgame?”

The boring classroom atmosphere suddenly turned serious and formal. Thales was caught off guard and hurriedly put away his handkerchief.

Who's winning……

“Um, the world, mortals, all intelligent races?”

But Aishida didn't speak, and the magician still looked at him coldly.

"All right."

Thales crossed his arms and thought for a while:

 “Queen of Magic.”

“The legendary anti-magic weapons they created can seal magicians,” he thought of what he had seen at the bottom of the Bone Cage, and couldn’t help but frown, “but it can’t be effective on themselves.”

As long as the Queen sets the fire, no disaster is allowed to light the lamp.

 Asheida’s eyes flashed.

“It seems that you have learned a lot on your own since the last time we saw each other.”

Taylors snorted softly.

“Don’t forget, I have the crown in my left hand and the magic power in my right hand.”

Thales opened his hands boldly, and then awkwardly hid his left hand, which was covered with blood marks, behind his back.

The young man continued: "In this way, the two emperors drove other magic masters into rats on the street, and monopolized the right to use magic energy. According to you, they also deepened their understanding of magic energy. They are the biggest winners."

 Asheida nodded.

But the next second, his tone became mysterious:

“So, as the biggest winner, why did the two magic emperors disappear for seven hundred years, hidden behind the scenes, only spread in the awe of a few people, and no one even knows where they are?”

Tiel was stunned for a moment.

Why did the two magic emperors disappear?

This question...

The magician walked slowly over, the questions progressed layer by layer, and his momentum became more and more pressing:

“Why do they distribute the legendary anti-magic weapons to mortals and rely on the kings, lords, governors and bishops of this world to perform their duties of monitoring the world on their behalf?”

“Why not just reveal your identity, rule hundreds of millions of creatures, and order everything in the world, and those who follow it will prosper and those who go against it will perish?”

 “Like radicals do?”

Asheida stared at him closely, waiting for the student's response.

Um, what the old crow said, the limits of domination? No, that's just for mortals.

Thales suppressed the first answer and found that it was indeed a good question.

He began to think about the logic.

“Because the warrior defeated the dragon, not to become a dragon? Well, it’s a joke.”

“Because, because it’s convenient? Because it’s lazy? Because it’s efficient? Because they, um, don’t have time? You know, not every magician has the leisure to help the underworld fight for territory.”

The qi mana master still stared at him quietly, silently, and did not make any reaction to Thales' sarcasm.

Thales had to restrain his teasing and said seriously:

"Well, to be honest, all I can think of is that since they have used the Purification Plan to obliterate the existence of magic masters, it is inconvenient for the Shuanghuangs themselves to appear in front of the world, in order to prevent the effect of blocking information and covering up history.

?”

Asheida stared at him for a long, long time.

As if to connect to his heart with his eyes.

This made Thales a little uneasy.

Wait a minute, did he go off topic? What did I just ask?

Finally, the qi magician smiled coldly.

“I have also been curious about this problem for a long time, and in order to solve it,” Aixida’s eyes burned, “I need more information.”

“And Friland was right about one thing.”

The guide slowly said:

“Since the end of the war, the royal family of Bright Star has been inherited for a long time and has participated in many people. It must have hidden many secrets that magicians cannot know.”

 Tales slapped his forehead.

Oh, yes, this is the purpose of Asheida joining the Three Disaster Alliance.

“So, you took the risk of having your address leaked by someone, and registered as a member of the ‘Freland Mutual Aid Group’ with your real name, in order to see reference materials that are not available elsewhere, and to study ‘Why are the two emperors so homely’?”

Thales asked tentatively.

Ashida looked at him silently, motionless.

Well, it seems he didn't get the joke.

Thales could only sigh:

“Then what is the conclusion of your research?”

Asheida looked away and turned to look out the window.

 “They hide.”

The magician's eyes glowed with azure light again, and his tone was hollow, but it made people feel inexplicably:

“It’s because they are afraid, jealous, and vigilant.”

The two emperors are afraid, jealous, and vigilant?

Thales was startled and puzzled:

"What are you afraid of? They are already the most powerful magicians, no one can control them..."

 No one can control it.

Thales paused for a moment, then woke up and said:

“Oh, you mean, Toros? He has the power to overwhelm the two emperors?”

 Toros.

Aishida turned back abruptly, with a sharp blue light in her eyes!

Tiles was so startled that he staggered.

The magician spoke slowly, extremely gently: "I have noticed from just now that even though I rarely mention it, you seem to already know something about this senior."

 He looked sharply:

“The question is, where did you find out?”

 Thales swallowed subconsciously.

Withstanding Aishida's aggressive gaze, he remembered the words of the senior in the critical room before knocking on the door:

【It is Aishida's responsibility to guide you, I cannot interfere.】

[In the group of magicians, there is a sacrosanct relationship between the guide and the guided. For example, you and Asheida have a special and close connection, and are special and important existences to each other.

.]

Thinking of this, Thales subconsciously said:

 “Book. Read from a book.”

 But Aishida then asked:

"what book?"

Thales blurted out:

“Forbidden books, in the collection of Sunset Temple...”

The magician is in hot pursuit:

 “Which one?”

 Taylors choked.

He had to show an apologetic smile:

“Okay, let me be honest, it is actually the guard who records the flag-bearing wing of the royal guard. They will record the words and deeds of people throughout the ages.”

 Aishida narrowed her eyes:

 “Whose record?”

“The King of Revival.” Thales said without blinking:

"Tormund I, he mentioned, um, what he saw in the End War, including Thoros."

“Oh, the records are stored in Fuxing Palace. Do you want to take a look?”

Asheida was silent for a few seconds.

"No," the magician looked at him faintly, "there are legendary anti-magic forces inside, so it's not safe."

Thales looked like he had woken up:

 “Oh, what a pity.”

“Do you want me to steal it for you?”

"No need." Aixida said softly and turned around.

“But no,” the magician continued, “it’s not Thoros they fear.”

His words were filled with deep fear:

“You can’t imagine what level and height the Queen of Magic has reached since she created the legendary anti-magic weapon.”

“I think that even if you are as experienced as Toros, you can’t compete with the two emperors who are unstoppable.”

Toros, can’t compete with the two emperors?

Thales was slightly shocked at first, and then said doubtfully:

“Then what else are they afraid of?”

 Asheida did not answer directly.

"Think, Thales, think," the magician looked at the star lake reflecting the stars in the sky, "Don't develop the bad habit of waiting for answers."

  Thales frowned.

The twin emperors that no one can control.

 No one...

No.

  Thales’ eyes moved.

It does not mean ‘no one’.

Not at all.

 “each other.”

Thales stared at the chair that was split in half in the corner and said seriously.

“Blood Thorn and Black Orchid, as the victors of the final battle, as magic masters who surpass most of their peers,” he looked up at the magic masters, “the only ones who can truly compete with the two emperors are each other.”

The young man said solemnly:

“It is the other party that they are wary of.”

Aishida snorted softly:

“Looks like you’re not too dull.”

Getting recognition, Thales’s eyes lit up:

“So, without a common enemy, the two queens became each other’s biggest threat. They broke up after the war and turned against each other.”

“And they hid behind the scenes to guard against the other party’s sneak attacks. This is a game of chicken where ‘whoever finds them first’ wins?”

Facing the student’s hopeful questioning, the magician did not comment and simply said:

“As I said before, you are getting closer to the truth of the world.”

This is probably Acida's version of "What you said is great," Thales muttered.

“Okay, I know this, so what?”

Thales returned to the topic and was careful not to let Esida change the topic:

“Is your purpose in joining the Three-Disaster Alliance to win over one of the two emperors and attack the other?”

Asheida was silent for a long time.

But when he spoke again, his tone was different.

“Tales, are you sure you want to continue listening?” the magician said quietly.

Thales was stunned:

"What?"

I saw the magician turn around, his figure blocking the moonlight, giving Thales a sense of oppression for the first time.

“Be aware that truth and secrets often carry heavy burdens.”

Asheida spoke softly and meaningfully: "Are you really, ready?"

Looking at the other party's appearance, Thales frowned and wondered: "Why do you suddenly act like you're telling ghost stories?"

His teacher smiled coldly:

“Because once you know it, you can’t go back.”

 Can’t look back?

 Thales curled his lips indifferently:

“Even if I don’t know, there’s no way I can turn back, right?”

 What a joke.

Do you really think that I, Thales Shining Star, the first person in the world of Errol who can turn disaster into good fortune, have been scared since childhood?

At this point, Thales suddenly became aware of something. He raised his finger and said fiercely:

“And you can’t even think about ‘getting out of class’ now!”

Asheida snorted lukewarmly, not knowing her emotions.

But he went out of his way and spoke cheerfully:

“During the time when I was cooperating with Fryland, I obtained some precious historical records through the Royal Family of the Bright Star, the Secret Department of the Kingdom, and even the Blood Bottle Gang.”

Thales narrowed his eyes:

"about?"

Asheida broke out into a rare smile.

means strange and difficult to understand.

“You already know that all legendary anti-magic weapons are created by the twin emperors, and they cannot be effective against the twin emperors, right?”

Thales couldn’t help but look at him uneasily, with suspicion in his heart:

"so?"

 The magician lowered his voice:

 “What if, there are exceptions?”

“What if there are weapons in this world that were not created by the two emperors?”

Thales was startled for a moment, then realized it.

 Damn.

【Eighteen years ago, the first and only legendary anti-magic weapon in history that was not made by the Queen of Magic...】

In the Prison of Bones, the mysterious voice of the leader of the Sword of Disaster seemed to ring in his ears:

【In the Kingdom of Stars, on the foundation of this Dragon-Severing One, it is worthy of being cast.】

So, this is what he said...and it's correct.

 Thales took a deep breath:

“So, you want to tell me that you have discovered an unregistered legendary anti-magic weapon that can be effective against the Queen of Magic?”

This time, Aixida stared at him for a long time before speaking seriously:

“In case you regret it after listening, I’ll ask again, are you really sure you want to listen…”

Tales rolled his eyes inwardly.

 “Cut the nonsense!”

The Duke was categorical and unquestionable:

"explain!"

   Making some kind of mystery.

You really think I don’t know?

The achievement of Dragon Breaker, the greatest king of the Pure World, is also possible. The only weapon that can seal the two emperors has long been in his hands, and he has actually used it.

Do you really think that by putting on such an appearance and creating an atmosphere, you can scare him?

 Asheida showed a mysterious smile.

etc.

Thinking of this, Thales had a headache:

How can we get the right amount of shock in addition to the indifference of having experienced many battles, so as to show that we have seen the world without arousing his suspicion...

“In the final battle, every legendary anti-demon weapon was created by the two emperors and then distributed to the selected disaster hunters to use the power of everyone to hunt down the magic masters.”

While Thales was thinking, the air magician had already spoken.

But what Asheida said was not what Thales thought:

“But after comprehensively comparing all relevant records in Star Kingdom, I determined something interesting: the time when some weapons were issued must have been after the Ending War.”

Thales, who was looking forward to hearing the "Purifying Edge of the World", didn't react for a moment and paused.

 “So, this is normal.”

The young man picked his ears and followed his thoughts:

"Although the war is over, the hunt for disasters continues. The targets of the twin emperors are not just radicals, but also other magicians, such as you, not to mention that troublemakers like Giza are still alive...

"

Speaking of this, Thales shuddered violently!

etc.

There was something wrong with what Asheida said just now.

Outside the door of the study, Vanguard Officer Morgan and Guard Officer Custa stood face to face, one with a stern expression, the other with concentration.

“Our Highness,” Cuesta stared at the door seriously, but no longer heard any sound from inside, “He sometimes does something unexpected, right?”

 Morgan did not respond.

Custa hummed softly:

“Have you heard what Commuto said, they are in the Red Square...”

“Don’t bother trying to get close, Thorn Barbarian,” Officer Morgan interrupted him rudely, without even looking at the other person: “I’m not interested.”

 Custa’s expression froze.

  thorn barbarian.

Custa, who has bronze skin and an exotic face, took a deep breath:

“Yes, my father did come from the Land of Thorns, but he was also a noble from the Kingdom of Ellenbia, and my grandmother was a most orthodox star person…”

“Who cares who fucked you out of a bastard?”

Morgan, the guard who kept away from strangers, raised his voice and snorted disdainfully:

“Just guard your door, thorny barbarian.”

Custa the Thorn Man’s breathing quickened and he clenched his fists.

"They said you were a veteran," Custa's tone became colder, "but you were kicked out by the army because you were afraid of fighting and fled?"

This sentence took effect, and Morgan moved his eyes for the first time, staring at Cuesta.

But Custa’s tone became more and more sarcastic:

 “That must be fun, right?”

 The Thorn Man sneered:

“Your commander, didn’t he beat the shit out of you?”

After the words fell, Morgan's eyes changed.

It's freezing cold to the bone.

The veteran's hand moves to the weapon.

"Remember, we are on duty," Cuesta said coldly, pressing his hand on the handle of the knife at his waist, "so don't make any stupid ideas."

“Unless...outside the army, do you want to be expelled by the Guard again?”

 Morgan's hand stopped.

His eyes were cold:

“Do you know why they expelled me?”

Custa sneered disdainfully:

"who cares"

"What are you doing?"

At that moment, Custa and Morgan were both shocked by the sudden appearance of a strange figure.

 Custa instinctively drew his sword!

Dang!

With a sharp sound, Cuesta's blade retracted in time and struck the wall hard, only a foot away from the strange figure's neck.

 “Fuck! Fuck, fuck, fuck!”

Custa cursed fiercely, and withdrew the blade in shock:

“Did I fucking almost kill you, Master Vitano?”

Custa and Morgan stared closely at the rickety figure of the caretaker of Star Lake Castle who appeared beside them. The old man Vitano was standing tremblingly in front of the door holding a lamp.

Remembering Chief Marius’s courtesy to the person in front of him, Cuesta quickly put away the blade and changed his tone:

 “You, you scared me.”

"Hey, old man," Morgan on the other side was not so good-tempered. He stared at Vitano and also put away the two daggers at his waist, "What are you doing here?"

The shadow of the lamp shook and the figure trembled. Vitano slowly turned around and glanced at the two of them with his cloudy eyes:

 “Don’t you feel it?”

 “Wow, you, you can talk?”

Cuesta was stunned for a moment, then reacted and cleared his throat: "I'm sorry, what do you feel?"

"mouse."

Vitano stared at the study door.

“In the castle,” the old man said with certainty as he raised the lamp:

 “There are mice.”

Even if they didn't deal with it, Cuesta and Morgan still exchanged glances at this moment.

Although communication is not very efficient.

 “Yes, we know.”

Morgan looked at the old man and said coldly:

 “An ‘old’ rat.”

Custa smiled:

“Of course, the only place in this ghost castle that is free of mice is the Xunying Tower, which is the wild cat nest.”

But Vitano shook his head, his eyes never leaving the door.

"No."

 “It’s an alien rat.”

Vitano looked at the door and said slowly but firmly:

 “A very, very big one.”

 “Very big.”

Cuesta and Morgan exchanged glances again.

The Thorn Man narrowed his eyes, pointed at his brain, and lowered his voice: "Hey, is he? There's something here..."

Morgan curled his lips and did not reply.

But the next second, Vitano's figure trembled and he moved forward.

"Hey!"

Two arms, one on the left and one on the right, stood firmly in front of him.

also stand in front of the door.

“Please stop, Master Vitano,” Cuesta said resolutely and seriously when he saw the direction the old man was going. “If you really want to see the Duke, I can pass the message first.”

“This is a dead end.” Morgan was more succinct.

Vitano came back to his senses tremblingly and began to look at the two of them again.

 “Are you the royal guard?”

 The old man asked softly.

Custa put down his arms and smiled:

“Yes, we are the royal family in Xinghu Castle...”

“You should jump.” The old man said coldly, with no beginning or end to his words.

Custa frowned: "What?"

“You,” Vitano said in a long voice, breathing and panting like a dying man, “you should all jump from the castle.”

 Jump down?

Morgan's eyes sharpened, and he put his hand on the hilt of the sword.

“Jump down? Why, why?” Cuesta asked doubtfully.

Vitano turned his head, glanced at Cuesta first, then glared at Morgan, and finally fixed his gaze on the door of the Duke's room.

 “Because you are useless.”

 “Can’t even catch a mouse.”

After the words fell, the old man ignored the two confused people and turned around.

In the swaying shadow of the lamp, he walked away step by step with difficulty and disappeared deep into the corridor.

Cuesta and Morgan stared at his back, confused.

"D.D is right," Custa shook his head after seeing him walking away, "That old guy, even if he is not a zombie, there is definitely something wrong with his brain."

 “Kill him.” Morgan said coldly.

 “Yeah what?” Cuesta was stunned.

Morgan looked at the cold corridor, grinding his teeth, and his tone was chilling:

“Next time, if he shows up like this again, we will kill him together.”

 Cuesta blinked:

"Are you crazy?"

Morgan bared his teeth and said with murderous intent: "No, I'm serious."

Custa took a deep breath and looked around: "It's not the Harvest Lady and the Sunset Goddess above, why?"

Morgan snorted coldly.

"Because, the distance when we found him," the veteran's eyes were sharp, "is enough for him to kill us."

 Kill us?

"Ha, ha, ha, for Thornland's sake, I really can't fucking believe it," Cuesta said, scratching his head and laughing, "Okay, let's kill the old man, and then how do we explain it? Because he

That we, um, can't catch mice?"

Morgan nodded, still staring at the corridor, as if there was some threat there:

"right."

“And he’s the rat damn rat.”

Custa looked confused.

"Crazy, crazy," Thorny Man tried again and again, and finally gave up thinking and sighed, "You and him, you are both crazy."

Ms. Harvest is here. Next time, he would rather partner with the disabled mute on duty.

 Damn mice.
