Chapter 1035 The Birth of the 17th Guerrilla Brigade

In 1942, the German army intensified its sweeps against Ukrainian guerrillas and various types of anti-German organizations. A large number of suspected people were imprisoned and then killed.

This method of the German army suppressed the guerrilla movement in Ukraine in a short period of time. Their expanded cruel actions also injured a large number of innocent people. The people suppressed their anger in their hearts and, forced by the power of the German army, dared to directly resist those seeking revenge.

Not much.

Any form of resistance, even making insulting gestures against German patrols on the street, or even spitting in their faces, is considered "anti-German behavior", and the puppet Ukrainian regime under German control is treated as "Bolsheviks".

The consequences for those who commit such acts are very simple - hanging.

In this way, there are multiple execution grounds on the streets of Kiev, and so-called "guerrillas" are hanged almost every day. In fact, many of them are innocent! They arrest people at will and sentence them to death for the purpose of shock.

Terror and high pressure cannot defeat those underground workers who dare to dance on the tip of a knife. There are underground organizations of the Soviet Communist Party in all medium and large cities in Ukraine. They risked being captured and killed to send telegrams to the guerrilla movement headquarters and execute the orders of their superiors.

destruction order.

The assassinations of pseudo-officials against the German defenders in the city have never stopped. Unfortunately, the results of these sabotage operations have been very weak.

The German army had killed a large number of guerrillas, which made Ponomarenko very angry. The development of the guerrilla movement in many places did not go as expected, and many people in the top management began to doubt his ability. There were even rumors that Ponomarenko was in

Belarus serves as the first secretary not because of his strong work ability, but simply because he unswervingly follows Stalin!

This made him very dissatisfied, and some military actions must be taken to give the guerrilla movement a shot in the arm.

Ponomarenko therefore issued a combat order to the commander of the 17th Guerrilla Brigade, Alexander Petenko Miroshniko, urgently ordering the guerrilla brigade to attack Gorod, a small city north of Chernihiv.

Nia.

This city, named Gorodniya, had a peacetime population of more than 50,000 people. The west side of the city was adjacent to a forest. This forest naturally became an excellent hiding place for anti-German armed forces.

The first thousand or so members of the 17th Partisan Brigade all escaped during the defense of Kiev. Under the leadership of battalion commander Miroshniko, they escaped into the Latiz Forest in the west of Gorodnia.

This is a vast forest, with a length of more than fifty kilometers! There are only six villages in the forest, and the people in these villages are naturally controlled by these defeated soldiers.

These villagers were very afraid of the German army! The German army occupied Loev, a city on the Dnieper River, and a large number of citizens fled into the forest and into the homes of the villagers. The German army was described as a cruel army. They shot at the citizens blatantly, without

Those who had time to escape were all killed!

Similarly, the German army also occupied Gorodnia. They eliminated the Jews as soon as possible. They went from house to house looking for Soviet wounded soldiers who were hidden by the citizens. Many citizens were killed by the German army, and many citizens who were worried about being killed at any time,

He desperately escaped and took refuge in the Latiz Forest.

For a time, the population in the forest exceeded 10,000 people! Miroshniko undoubtedly became the military commander of these ragtag groups!

There are a large number of wounded Soviet soldiers among these people. After they recovered, they quickly became a combat force. There were also a large number of adult men in the crowd, all of whom were over 28 years old and were not included in the Soviet army's 1941 conscription standards. Now,

These men had to be warriors! There was even a bearded old guy over sixty years old!

In a short period of time, Miroshniko's strength reached 5,000, but he only had more than 1,000 usable firearms, and ammunition was even scarcer.

After they settled in the forest, they immediately faced a more serious problem - food shortage. There were six villages in the forest and arable land was very limited.

They sowed some potato tubers before winter to pray that they would not freeze to death in the winter.

After the remaining food was already stretched thin, in order to avoid starvation, Miroshniko decided to attack Gorodnia. He selected a thousand elite soldiers to participate in the operation, and the target was the food warehouse.

This operation was very successful. After all, many of the soldiers in the team were citizens of the city, and they knew how to attack the granary. There were very few German troops left in the city, and Miroshniko once had the upper hand.

They robbed the city's granary, took away a large amount of flour, and finally set fire to the granary. Unfortunately, their weapons, equipment and ammunition were ultimately at a disadvantage. After the raid became a failure, Miroshniko ordered a retreat.

In this battle, the losses of Miroshniko's elite soldiers were not small. More than 200 people died in the battle! Fortunately, after the melee, they obtained a lot of food and some weapons that were crucial for future survival.

!

This victory soon became known to the top brass of the Soviet army. It happened before the winter of 1941. The guerrilla movement headquarters did not exist at that time. Beria was temporarily in charge of the Soviet guerrilla movement. Unfortunately, this Dai

The man with small glasses knew almost nothing about military command.

Beria at least understood that if the guerrillas active in enemy-occupied areas were to continue to "stab knives", a large amount of ammunition would be needed. Therefore, before winter, the Soviet army deployed many old TB3 bombers to target several

Air assistance from stronger guerrilla forces.

Since Kilponos airdropped to the Pripet Swamp once before he died, the airdrop ordered by Beria did not involve the swamp again.

This airdrop was very important to Miroshniko. The plane dropped a thousand rifles and 200,000 rounds of ammunition, which greatly improved the military strength. Moreover, the anti-German armed forces in the Ratiz Forest were organized into the 17th Guerrilla Brigade.

, Miroshniko served as brigade commander.

Airdrops alone are no longer enough. There is not much food dropped by air. In the cold winter of 1941, 6,000 people of the 17th Guerrilla Brigade, whose total population once exceeded 15,000, died! This is a crazy statistic. 1

On the one hand, severe cold and starvation caused a large number of deaths. On the other hand, the subsequent raids on Gorodnia were retaliated by the German army. Hundreds of soldiers were killed during the battle, and hundreds of wounded were not given good medical care.

Treat death.

They lived hard, and after January, they learned that there was a new city called Novgomel on the other side of the Dnieper River, and the garrison there was the 284th Infantry Division with the title of "Guards"

.

Miroshniko really wanted to defect there, but unfortunately his superiors forbade him ruthlessly. For no other reason, the 17th Partisan Brigade was responsible for the position where it currently sits, and when spring arrives, it will launch a spring offensive!

Different guerrilla units were responsible for a guerrilla zone. As the Soviet Union continued to send people into the German war zone, a large number of Komsomol members and CPSU members entered the command system of the 17th Guerrilla Brigade, and Miroshniko's power was restricted to a certain extent.

Even if defection fails, it is possible to try to communicate.

It was still in 1941, when winter had just entered. The continuous snowfall turned into a snow disaster. The Dnieper River was frozen for a time. Some refugees in the Latiz Forest tried to cross the frozen Dnieper River on foot.
