Chapter 1424: Fierce Battle at Twilight (Part 1)

Morikhov, deputy commander of the 634th Division, only led 2,100 men to retreat eastward.

These two thousand one hundred men actually comprised two regiments. Today, the fierce warriors surpassed those in the past, and the two regiments lost more than half of their strength. Many German soldiers felt that the enemy was like a lingering wasp, always pursuing them.

Leave it alone until it is stung to death.

Their eastward retreat therefore seemed very embarrassing. Originally, the army arrived at this battlefield arrogantly and with a large amount of heavy equipment, intending to wipe out all the Soviet troops in the Pripet Swamp.

Who would have thought that a whole week has passed and the dignified 634th Division has ended up running away in all directions. Every soldier is in a miserable state, and they simply carry relatively sufficient ammunition and food, so they can still cope with a hard battle. They have been fighting all day, and their bodies are exhausted.

Exhaustion cannot be made up for with bread. Everyone also knows that if they stop and let the Soviet army catch up, they will definitely die.

The perspective shifts to the Soviet Army.

Both Tepunov and Miroshniko realized that the German army had actually turned east.

"Oops! If they run out of the forest, only female soldiers can intercept them!" Realizing that the Germans might have the possibility of escaping, the anxious Miroshniko immediately communicated in plain language with Joshua himself.

He shouted into the walkie-talkie: "Qiusha! Please pay attention, there is a German army with more than 2,000 troops, breaking out to the east."

"What? Is this true?" Joshua was shocked.

"Yes! I order your troops to attack north immediately. Once you find someone coming out of the forest, don't hesitate. They are German troops! You must fight even if the light gets darker and darker."

"I understand. I will immediately organize the troops to go north to intercept. Our two female corps will definitely complete the mission."

Miroshniko conveyed this order to Sashanova again. The two female corps were cleaning the battlefield and rescuing the wounded. The girls all felt that the rest of the battle should be fought by friendly forces, and their own tasks had been completed.

of completion.

I never thought that in this small battlefield, there would be so many variables in one day.

"Girls! Don't wait, stand up and run eastward immediately, we must prevent the enemy from breaking through!" The ordering soldiers shouted similar words in the camp, and thousands of female soldiers were not allowed to stop resting and engaging in new battles.

Of the two female regiments, Joshua suffered the most serious losses. All four of her battalions suffered heavy losses. Even if only half of them were able to fight, she led her troops to attack north without hesitation.

Only one company of people stayed to take care of the wounded soldiers and had already taken care of the captured supplies. The other nearly 3,000 people went out en masse. They shouted "Ula" and started running wildly.

If they knew how to operate artillery, they could use the captured German howitzers to deal a key blow to the German troops who broke through. Unfortunately, they didn't understand it at all.

On the German side, they ran wildly and turned around to shoot, and the Soviet pursuit did not slow down.

In this situation, the only thing the German deputy division commander could do was to keep running. Soon, the troops running at the forefront finally passed through the forest. Looking eastward, they saw an open land with very little vegetation - continued

Go east and you will reach Chernihiv.

Suddenly there were no big trees around, and the deputy division commander felt much better.

"Gentlemen, we cannot stop, continue eastward, we will be safe soon."

So, is it really safe to continue heading east quickly? Many soldiers heard the deputy division commander's shouting, and no one doubted it because they refused to doubt it. More and more people came out of the forest and retreated eastward in skirmish lines.

Under the dim afterglow of sunset, I saw that the sun had almost completely sunk into the horizon, and a crescent moon in the sky was appearing and disappearing among the gauzy clouds. The North Star in the sky was still shining with white light. Looking at him, no one was worried about what would happen at night.

The march will lose its direction.

"Perhaps at night, the Russians will stop chasing." Molihov thought so. His current situation is very bad. The communication soldier is dead, the radio is damaged, and he cannot communicate with the outside world. He is now beaten by the enemy.

I'm afraid the superiors don't even know about the sudden collapse of the 634th Division!

When he thought of this, a sense of shame surged into his heart, but the fear of death still drove him to move on.

The German army just focused on running eastward. They did not notice at all the dark shadow coming from the south, which was their own artillery position a few hours ago.

Sashanova's eyesight was not bad. She saw the figure emerging from the forest and immediately ordered the recoilless gun team in the team to open fire immediately.

The sudden artillery shells disrupted the retreat rhythm of the German army. The shells only killed a few people, but caused everyone to panic.

The war situation deteriorated suddenly, and Molihov was shocked: "My God, why is there a large group of Russians in the south? Oh, what the hell! Those female soldiers."

He shouted loudly: "Gentlemen, pay attention to the right wing and prevent the Russian women from attacking."

As a result, five German machine gunners lay on the ground, and a large number of green "lasers" suddenly emerged from the grass. The casualties of the two charging female regiments appeared again.

What should we do at this time? Joshua yelled at Ula loudly. She kept her feet on the ground and led her men to continue the charge.

The worst case scenario is another hand-to-hand combat, as long as these invaders are eliminated, even if they die on the battlefield.

Due to the poor light, it was difficult for the Germans to aim. It was also due to the hesitation that the Soviet troops had a clear advantage and their firepower was not inferior to the Germans. Joshua charged frontally, while Sashanova led some troops to take a detour eastward.

.

Even in the dim light, Molihov knew that the Soviet army was outflanking them and an encirclement net was being established.

What to do? What to do?

Mollikhov himself was out of breath, his lungs were about to explode from exhaustion, he was too anxious, and veins were popping out of his head.

He looked left and right, only to find that there was still a possibility of breaking out in the northeast.

"Gentlemen, don't be wary. Let's go northeast! We must run faster than the Russians, otherwise it will be all over!"

Indeed, if there is no clean withdrawal, the troops will almost certainly be wiped out. Unfortunately, some people have already died first. Due to excessive fatigue, some German soldiers suddenly fainted and collapsed. Others could not protect themselves, and of course they could not take care of their comrades.

The German army suddenly turned again. Sakhanova saw their intentions clearly and couldn't help but worry.

"Girls, run quickly! Shoot while running to prevent the enemy from breaking out!"

The physical strength of these female soldiers was worse than that of the male soldiers, and there were too few real elites in the two female soldiers. Gradually, the pursuit of the female soldiers became weak, and they saw that the German army was about to escape from under their noses.

Just when Sashanova was crying because she was unwilling to give in, a strange roar was heard not far away - the Soviet army fired a rocket launcher.

Tepunov's paratrooper brigade was equipped with twenty Catfish rocket launchers. They only consumed two of them in this battle, and they still had eighteen more, which could not be used due to the cramped nature of the forest environment.

Now that the German army has escaped into the open area, there is nothing more to say. Tepunov ordered the rocket launcher team that emerged from the forest to immediately establish a firing position.

At this moment, Tepunov's eyes were also red. He ordered: "You don't have to worry about bombing the female soldiers. Just aim at the enemy and hit them hard, and shoot all eighteen rounds."
