Chapter forty-two

When dusk fell, Lei Zhonglian finished sweeping and wiping the hall, then closed the door of Jiuling Hall, and the fragrance filled the backyard.

"It's time to eat." Miss Jun said, personally bringing out two dishes from the kitchen.

The rain has stopped, the air is moist, and the early summer evening is peaceful and pleasant.

Fang Chengyu had already sat down at the table in the corridor.

"I'm so hungry." He looked at Miss Jun putting the food on the table with a smile on his face, "We haven't even eaten lunch yet."

"How can you be so hungry if you don't eat one meal?"

Zhu Zan's voice came.

The man also stepped out of the room, sat down cross-legged, and grabbed the bowls and chopsticks on the table.

Miss Jun ignored him and went straight to the kitchen to serve food.

"I'm still young, and I'm growing taller." Fang Chengyu looked at him and said seriously, "I get hungry very easily, so naturally I can't compare with you, brother."

Zhu Zan said oh.

"That's right." He said, reaching out and pinching Fang Chengyu's arm, "It's too thin."

He said and placed a plate of sauced meat in front of Fang Chengyu.

"Come on, eat more meat and grow strong."

Fang Chengyu looked at the meat in front of him and hesitated.

"I really want to eat it too," he said, and sighed and pushed the meat back, "But I'm still taking medicine, so I can't eat it."

Zhu Zan smiled and looked at Miss Jun who came out with a basket of rations.

"Are you running a medical clinic?" he asked.

"Yes." Miss Jun said, "Didn't I tell you that I am a herbal collector? I am not lying."

Zhu Zan reached out and grabbed a piece of cake, tore up the meat and rolled it up.

"It sounds like everyone is lying," he said. "I'm not lying either. I'm also a woodcutter."

After saying that, he took a big bite of the burrito and chewed it fully while looking at Miss Jun and raising her eyebrows.

With his mouth full of cakes and meat, he said something else.

Miss Jun said nothing and greeted Lei Zhonglian who came in from the front to eat.

Lei Zhonglian picked up the pancakes and meat dishes on a plate and went to sit down to eat. Because of the addition of Zhu Zan, the dining table originally occupied by Miss Jun and Fang Chengyu seemed very crowded.

It looked crowded and sounded crowded, and Zhu Zan's voice seemed to not stop for a moment.

"You just eat this? What are these, vegetable leaves?"

"I'll treat you like a rabbit."

"I'm talking about real rabbits, nothing else. Don't get me wrong."

"Hahahaha, you didn't misunderstand. It would be better if you didn't misunderstand."

"Hey? Children, do you know that rabbit has other meanings? It's shameful that you don't learn well at a young age."

Lei Zhonglian couldn't sit still anymore, took a few mouthfuls of rice and got up to go to the kitchen.

Miss Jun and Fang Chengyu followed the usual rhythm and finished their meal accompanied by Zhu Zan's joking.

Fang Chengyu also ate one more bowl.

Maybe it's because I'm happy to be able to walk, or maybe it's because Zhu Zan told me to eat more to grow stronger quickly.

All in all, it looked like the guests and hosts were enjoying themselves.

However, does this count as the guest and host?

"Do you want to prepare his room?" Lei Zhonglian looked at Miss Jun who walked into the kitchen and asked in a low voice.

The twilight fades, the darkness of night spreads, and the lights inside and outside are about to be lit.

Is Mr. Zhu going to meet him by chance and say goodbye, or is he going to have a friend come from afar and stay for a few days?

Miss Jun looked back at Zhu Zan who was standing on the porch curiously pulling at the herbs she was drying.

"He doesn't trust us yet," she said. "When he is convinced that we are harmless, he will leave naturally."

"Is he in trouble?" Lei Zhonglian asked.

Lei Zhonglian didn't know who he was. When Miss Jun said Zhu Zan's name, only Zhu Zan heard it, and she didn't mention it again. The life-and-death confrontation between the two was also an instant.

So Lei Zhonglian knew that this person was in trouble, but he didn't know what kind of trouble it was.

His worries were that, first, this person was extremely dangerous and unpredictable, and second, that he would cause trouble and threaten them.

Miss Jun smiled.

"Don't worry, we have troubles too," she said. "If there are too many lice, it won't itch. If there are too many troubles, everyone will be in trouble. It just so happens that no one can feel comfortable."

Are we in trouble too?

Lei Zhonglian thought that they were indeed in trouble, but the Fang family had already sent word that everything at home had been resolved.

Unexpectedly, the man behind the scenes turned out to be Shopkeeper Song.

Although no one else is very concerned about the business of Fang's bank account, they have been in the Fang family for so many years, and they know that Shopkeeper Song is an excellent person.

It’s true that you know people, their faces, but not their hearts.

And he is so patient that he can continue to hide and harm the whole family for a lifetime.

But now is not the time to talk about this.

Lei Zhonglian thought of the letter he just received.

"The old lady asked us to go back. The people at the Caizhou Mansion Ticket Office are also ready. When will we set off, young lady?" he asked.

"There are still people coming from home. Let's wait until they arrive before leaving." Miss Jun said.

The letter was delivered quickly, but the pace of the people and horses was slow. When the letter was sent, the carefully selected guards of the Fang family were also arriving.

Lei Zhonglian didn't find it surprising that old lady Fang was doing this.

After all, this is the only continuation of the Fang family's bloodline, and there have been cases where men of the Fang family died on the road.

Although it was already known that this was done by shopkeeper Song and that he had been caught, there was nothing wrong with being careful.

"I wonder if the interrogation has revealed the origins of those who were not bandits?" He couldn't help but ask.

This is Lei Zhonglian’s obsession.

"We'll find out when we get back." Miss Jun smiled and said, "They said we would interrogate him when we got back, and the crime would be announced in public. All the things in the past must have been revealed."

Lei Zhonglian responded yes.

"Nine years old!"

Fang Chengyu's voice came from over there.

Miss Jun quickly looked over and saw Fang Chengyu being held back by Zhu Zan. Fang Chengyu looked aggrieved.

Lei Zhonglian immediately tensed up.

Although I don’t know why Miss Jun seems to be so relieved about this man, after all, Master Fang’s situation is special.

"What are you doing?"

Miss Jun walked over quickly and said displeasedly.

Zhu Zan let go of his hand and looked unhappy.

"What a child. He always calls others names." He said, "I'm not ashamed."

Miss Jun took Fang Chengyu's hand and hid him behind her back.

"I'm just a child." Fang Chengyu said to Zhu Zan with a serious face, "I can't take care of myself, so of course I have to call others. Otherwise, if I try to cause trouble, I will still trouble others."

Zhu Zan looked like he had seen a ghost.

"This is the first time I've seen someone act so confidently as a child," he said with a glare.
