Chapter 48 The Intuition of Men

On a baby-faced June day, a gust of wind blew through rolling thunder, and the team walking on the road immediately became a little hectic.

"Hurry up, hurry up." Someone in the team shouted loudly.

"Should we hurry forward and find a place to take shelter from the rain, or should we set up a tent on the spot to take shelter?" someone asked loudly.

"You are stupid. There are no villages or shops for ten miles. It is a wilderness. Where is there any place to take shelter from the rain?" said the person from before.

"Then set up a tent." Someone replied.

"You are stupid, why are you setting up a tent? It's raining and it will be gone soon." The man shouted again.

The senior management couldn't listen any longer and looked at the team twitching in place as they tried to move forward and backward.

"Master Ling, what should we do quickly?" he asked.

Zhu Zan in front turned around and picked up a baggage from the horse's back.

"Hurry up and put on the raincoat." He raised his eyebrows and said, "Don't you have everything? Why do you ask?"

Then just tell me to put on the raincoat quickly, and just yell like that, causing everyone to panic.

The senior management looked at him and smashed his mouth.

"Does this need to be said? Isn't it already known to everyone?"

Zhu Zan said, putting on the raincloth in three times.

"Have you ever been on the road? Are you a guard? You are not just invited, are you?"

"How much did it cost you to hire these people?"

"Are you being taken advantage of again?"

"If you have money, you can't abuse it like this."

The senior manager couldn't listen any more, so he turned around and called people to find his raincoat, and finally managed to escape.

Although heavy rain was coming and the mountain breeze was cool, the senior executive still reached out to touch his forehead and face and wiped the sweat from his hands.

"Where did he invite you from?" A follower stepped forward and asked in a low voice, "Is it okay? Just listen to him all the way?"

The senior executive hissed twice.

"Listen." He said, and after speaking, he glanced at the man who was wearing a raincloth that could not cover his tall figure.

"It cost ten thousand taels of silver. No need. It's a waste."

The last sentence was spoken to himself, and Sui never heard it.

"However, this person is not bad, and the arrangements are good. We can travel quickly and easily." The attendant said, "The only problem is that he talks too much."

As soon as he finished speaking, he heard Zhu Zan shouting again.

"High executive."

The attendant shrank his head and showed sympathy to the senior management.

The senior executive put the raincloth over his body, turned around and responded with a smile, urging his horse over.

"Your Majesty..." he said.

Zhu Zan raised his hand.

"I just asked you to talk about this." He said, "Stop calling me Mr. Ling. It sounds like you are calling me my son."

The senior executives looked strangely depressed.

But your surname is Ling. Is it possible that you don’t want people to call you Mr. Ling now, and you won’t want people to call you Lord Ling or Master Ling in the future?

"Then what do you call Young Master?" he asked.

Zhu Zan thought for a while.

"Call me Mr. Jiu," he said.

The senior executive nodded.

"Yes, yes, good." He said, "Ninth Young Master."

As he said this, there was thunder and heavy raindrops fell.

"Hurry up and hurry up." Zhu Zan said, putting on the bamboo hat and urging the horse forward. "Be energetic, narrow your eyes, and urge the horse to take small steps."

Executives exhaled.

"Ten thousand taels is a lot, but the more valuable thing is life-saving grace." He said to himself, "Just make a little noise. He doesn't feel noisy, so what should I be afraid of?"

As he spoke, he also pulled up his bamboo hat and joined the team in the face of the pattering raindrops.

Just as Zhu Zan said, the clouds and rain stopped soon after.

Lei Zhonglian shook the reins with one hand, took off his bamboo hat with the other, and shook off the rainwater on it. A horse approached, and before Lei Zhonglian could look over, Zhu Zan jumped on the carriage.

His horse followed closely beside the car.

"The journey is not going fast."

Miss Jun's voice came from inside the car, and she opened the car curtain at the same time.

Compared with the light and shabby appearance of the carriage, the carriage at this time was spacious and luxurious, with several tea tables, an incense burner, and even a small bookshelf.

Fang Chengyu leaned on the brocade mat, waving a fan in his hand and looking out of the car through the rolled-up bamboo curtain, with a happy and relaxed expression.

Miss Jun also held a fan in her hand, shaking it gently while watching Zhu Zan speak.

The journey is not going fast. Is this a complaint?

"Is it my fault?" Zhu Zan said angrily, holding out his hand, "Tea, tea."

Miss Jun reached back, and Fang Chengyu, who was sitting next to her, had already stood up to pour tea at the same time as Zhu Zan spoke, holding the teacup and handing it over.

Miss Jun took the teacup and handed it to Zhu Zan, who raised his head and poured it in in one gulp.

"It's not because of you." He continued, throwing away the teacup.

Miss Jun reached out to catch it.

"We have to wait until now to set off. This is the right time to walk this difficult road." Zhu Zan said, "If we had followed my instructions on May 23, we would have reached Huaiqing Mansion by now."

"We agreed to consult for a month, but how can we not keep our words?" Miss Jun said, "It's not good to be regarded as a big talker."

"Yes, we are rich and can afford it." Fang Chengyu also said, "We promise a thousand pieces of gold."

Zhu Zan turned around and sighed outside the car.

"Isn't it the same thing if you just throw the money directly to them, or throw it to other doctors and pharmacies and let them go and get it?" he said.

"How can it be the same?" Miss Jun said, "How can other doctors compare with me?"

Zhu Zan laughed.

"I didn't see it," he said, "She's quite narcissistic."

Who is narcissistic? Lei Zhonglian looked at him.

Zhu Zan also looked at him.

"Uncle," he said, "you really owe me a lot of money."

Miss Jun waved her fan and smiled, looking at Zhu Zan and sighing.

"Have you been in the Northland all these years?" she asked.

"Where would I go if not in the North?" Zhu Zan said, leaning on the carriage and dangling his long legs that were almost touching the ground.

Probably after the fight with the emperor's twelfth uncle, he stopped going to Beijing. After all, he was a very trouble-making person.

I don’t know if Cheng Guogong is doing well these years.

"How is your father?" she asked.

"Very good." Zhu Zan said, looking at the washed sky.

"Have you recovered from your winter cough?" Miss Jun couldn't help but ask again.

Zhu Zan turned his head and looked at her with bright eyes.

"It seems that you are really concerned about my father." He said.

Miss Jun smiled.

"Those of us who live near the Northland and are protected by him are very concerned about him," she said.

Zhu Zan drank and laughed, then glanced at her again.

What are you looking at? No matter how much you look at me, you won't be able to guess who I am. Miss Jun couldn't help but think with a bit of narrow-mindedness. She met Zhu Zan's gaze and smiled.

"Don't look at me with such admiration, look at your little husband." Zhu Zan said, turning away and looking forward.

The wilderness ahead gradually emerges, and mountains and forests appear.

Miss Jun smiled and was about to speak. Zhu Zan suddenly jumped out of the carriage.

"Stop," he said.

As soon as Lei Zhonglian's reins were pulled back, the horse raised its hooves and fell still.

The teams in front and behind him were a little confused by his shouting, some stopped and some took a few steps forward before stopping.

What happened to this grandpa?

The senior executive urged the horse to come over.

"Ninth Young Master, what are your orders?" he asked.

Zhu Zan looked ahead.

"It's not very peaceful up front," he said.

The front is not flat?

Everyone looked over.

Because it had just rained heavily and it was a deserted mountain wilderness, there were no pedestrians in sight. Only the lush greenery washed away by the rain was quiet and refreshing, which made people feel relaxed and happy.

Occasionally, birds chirped and flew by in the sky.

"What's going on ahead?" the senior executive asked loudly.

There were sentries in front of them. Following the shouts, several fast horses moved forward, and soon a bunch of fireworks lit up in the forest ahead.

This is a sign that everything is safe and sound as promised.

Everyone present breathed a sigh of relief.

"Ninth Young Master, look, it's okay after you go and see it." The senior manager said with a kind expression.

Zhu Zan kept crossing his arms and looking ahead. Although his expression was still relaxed, his eyes were hardened.

"I think something's wrong," he said.

"How can you tell?" the senior executive asked.

"Intuition." Zhu Zan said.

These words caused a slight commotion in the surrounding area.

This person has gone through a lot of troubles along the way. Forget about the previous ones. It is indeed a good way to travel, but what does intuition mean now?

"Don't look down on the intuition of a woodcutter." Zhu Zan said with a curved corner of his mouth.
