Chapter 2 Reasons for Trust

As night fell, three lamps were lit, and the light instantly filled the stone-covered room.

This is a glazed lamp, which is bright and won’t dazzle your eyes.

The heated kang is full of warmth, and the bedding is soft and warm when pressed with your hands. It is made of silk, satin and silk.

There are two beauty vases on the stone platform beside the kang, with a handful of orchids in each.

This dark room, which was originally small and cramped, became bright and warm under the light.

Brightness and warmth sometimes come from piles of money. The woman pressed her hand on the quilt and saw that even a vase was not an ordinary decoration.

Suddenly she smelled a strong aroma of medicine. The woman sat on the kang and looked over, and saw that the little girl named Liu'er was throwing something into the incense burner on the window sill.

"The heated kang is prone to dryness and heat. This is a medicine to dispel dryness. If you use it at night, you won't have a dry mouth and nosebleeds in the morning." Miss Jun's voice sounded.

As soon as she walked in, she saw the woman looking at Liu'er and explained.

"Miss, you know a lot about medicine," the woman said with a smile.

"Actually, I am more than knowledgeable." Miss Jun smiled, opened the cabinet on the side and took out the medicine box, "Actually, I am a doctor."

doctor?

"It is true that a person cannot be judged by his appearance, and the sea cannot be measured by comparison." The woman nodded and said, watching Miss Jun open the medicine box and take out a porcelain bottle.

"The woman injured her ankle." Miss Jun said, squatting down beside the bed.

The woman was not uneasy because of her action, and stretched out her hand to pull up her dress for easier inspection.

"Yes, I fell off the carriage a few days ago and was trampled by a horse's hoof." She said, "I used to let it go if it hurt, but I didn't take it seriously, but in the past few days it has become serious."

I don't have time to take it seriously. The pain in my legs and feet is nothing compared to my life.

Miss Jun poured medicinal wine from a porcelain bottle, rubbed it on her hands, and pressed it on the woman's ankle.

"It hurts a little," she said.

The woman smiled.

"It hurts, but it would be terrible if it didn't hurt." She said, "My foot will be useless."

"It's okay if it's scrapped." Liu'er said, "My lady can make a new one for you."

This sounds really incredible, but the woman did not show mocking surprise.

"It turns out that Miss's medical skills are so good." She nodded and said.

When she's not smiling, she looks very serious, just like Mrs. Fang, but not like her.

Old Mrs. Fang meant that someone owed her money for eight lifetimes.

But this woman's seriousness is not annoying, but rather, she respects her unconsciously.

Liu'er pinched her fingers, but even so, she would not serve her. No matter who is nicer, it would be better than the young lady.

Miss Jun kneaded a cup of tea before she stood up and asked Liu'er to bring water to the woman to take the medicine.

"Madam's ankle is seriously injured. Of course I can cure it." She said, "But it needs to rest for a few days. Of course, you can also travel if you are in a hurry."

She said and laughed again.

"My foot is broken, I can indeed make a new one for you, so I decide whether to leave tomorrow or rest for a while, after all, I am paid to do what you want."

Qian Liuer's eyes lit up, but he remembered not to interrupt when the lady was talking, so he refrained from asking.

The woman also laughed.

"I paid for you. All I need to pay is to get to where I want to go. As for how to get there and other things, I don't worry about it." She said, "Miss, you have to worry about everything."

She liked talking to such cheerful people, Miss Jun smiled and nodded.

"Okay." She said, "Madam, please rest."

The woman nodded and said nothing.

"Also, Madam, maybe she can take care of herself?" Miss Jun asked again, "This girl has never served anyone at night. I also have a cook who is very good at cooking, but no one has taught me how to serve others."

This sounds really insincere, but Miss Jun said it calmly, and the woman's expression was not disturbed.

"It's okay, I can take care of myself." She said, pointing to the head of the bed, looking at Liu'er and nodding, "What's more, this little girl has been well prepared."

There is a stove, teapot and snack box placed beside the bed, within easy reach.

Although she knew she was very capable, Liu Er still smiled happily when she heard the compliment.

"That is, you can rest assured when I do things." She said.

Just as he was talking, Lei Zhonglian's voice came from outside the door, and he brought Liang Chengdong over.

When the master and servant encountered such a thing, they naturally had something to say. Miss Jun invited him in and took Liu Er to leave.

Liang Chengdong walked into the room and was amazed again when he saw the luxury in the simplicity. When he was thinking about what to say, voices came from the yard.

"...She should be allowed to get it by herself. Why should we give it to her? She is the eldest lady."

"You can't let your aunt be alone at home. Let's go. I'll bring back a piece of cloth for my aunt."

"Sister-in-law Huang, come and get the cloth."

"Uncle Lei, please carry two lanterns and call a few more people. I'm still afraid of encountering a wolf."

The courtyard was bustling with chatter and then became quiet as the footsteps faded away.

Liang Chengdong stood by the door and looked out. The lights in the neighboring rooms in the yard were still on, but there was no one there. Even the cook had gone out.

Are you deliberately avoiding letting them talk?

Liang Chengdong thought that when he first entered the village, the young lady told the masked girl that she wanted to give her some croquettes.

Maybe it's a coincidence.

"Chengdong, how are your injuries?" the woman asked.

Liang Chengdong put away his troubled thoughts and closed the door.

"Madam, I'm fine, how about you?" he asked hurriedly.

"It's okay for me. This young lady is a doctor and has superb medical skills." The woman said, "She showed it to me."

doctor….

Liang Chengdong's eyebrows twitched again.

"Madam, I feel like this is a bandit's den." He whispered, "The feeling here..."

He glanced around the room.

"We once suppressed a bandit like this. He lived in a cave. It looked inconspicuous, but inside he had gold and silver as a seat, and there were all kinds of treasures piled inside the cave."

The woman laughed and looked around.

"It's quite rich." She nodded and smiled, "And the style is indeed quite gangster."

Right! Liang Chengdong frowned.

"Madam, do you still believe her?" he said, actually asking them to escort her.

"I'm sure she is." the woman said, smiling, "Maybe it's because you said, a powerful bandit. This gangster's spirit is still arrogant, so it's always better."

He is magnanimous, he is nimble, he looks down upon the world, this kind of generosity is hard to catch up with once he says it.

At the same time, Lei Zhonglian was asking similar questions on the mountain road.

"Miss, their origins are unknown and their identities are weird. Why do you still want to help them?" he said.

The woman said that they no longer had any silver on them, but the bandits were still chasing after them, and when Miss Jun took action, the people over there still blurted out words to keep them alive.

The robbers are not looking for money, and those who are robbed must be kept alive for questioning. This is definitely not an ordinary robbery.

Of course Miss Jun knew that, otherwise she wouldn't have reminded the man that there was no need to keep them alive or not. It was enough to already know that someone wanted them dead.

This woman's behavior is extraordinary, her guards are very skilled, and her origins must be extraordinary. But for such a person to be hunted down, it shows that she must be in big trouble.

And now they know nothing about this trouble and what will happen, so how should they deal with it?

"Of course the soldiers came to cover up the water and the soil." Miss Jun said, "As for why you helped them..."

She paused for a moment as if thinking.

"Of course she gave me the money." Liu'er, who was walking in front, turned back and replied, "It's such a simple thing, why don't you want it if you have money?"

What do you know! Lei Zhonglian glared at her, some money is not so easy to earn.

"But it's easy for Miss to earn money from this job." Liu'er curled her lips and glared at him with disdain.

That's true... Miss Jun really didn't do anything she couldn't do. Lei Zhonglian was choked.

Miss Jun smiled.

Of course it wasn't about money for her. The reason why she agreed at that time was probably because when they were killing the bandits, they clearly could have continued and had a chance to escape, but they resolutely turned around and came back to help.

Or maybe it was because of the inexplicable familiarity towards the woman.

This reason is a bit willful, but she is a woman, and women are inevitably more willful. (To be continued)
