Chapter 14 Hole Cards

There is a saying among the people of the Gloria Empire.

'A starved horned rhinoceros is bigger than the strongest wild horse——'

Although the Olivendi family was almost destroyed, the final legacy left behind was still enough to support little Avis to do many things.

It was an overall spherical crystal, about the size of an apple, with the two ends slightly flattened.

It is similar to the shape of the earth model that Avis has seen before.

It has very strange properties. Its appearance is translucent, its color is always changing, and its core is still glowing alternately.

Magic spectrum testing shows that it does not belong to any known substance.

Its name is a single Gumani syllable: [yīn]

Every one thousand years, the brilliance in the crystal ball will reach its peak. At this time, it will become an unparalleled wish-making medium.

There is no need for any rituals to use it, and there are no restrictions on its use. Even if an ordinary person directly holds it and says his wish, it can be realized directly.

The most important thing is that through the wishing technique activated by [yīn], the degree of wish distortion is almost negligible!

For example, suppose a spellcaster makes a wish: to increase his level.

Ordinary wish-making spells have an 80% chance of failure, and the other 20% chance of realizing a misinterpreted wish.

The results are often catastrophic, and the wish spell may connect him to some giant energy source, such as the magic pool of a wizard's tower.

At this point, the fate of the caster is obvious.

But if this wishing spell is activated through [yīn], then the energy in the crystal ball will prompt his transformation in an instant and provide all the power consumed in the process.

Of course, if the wish-maker is too greedy and raises several great realms at once by making a wish, only to be annihilated by the huge magic power that he cannot control, then [yīn] has nothing to do with it.

In the hands of the family, it was used twice, each time leaving detailed records.

Its first owner was Aldrich, who was a ninth-level peak warlock at the time. After he obtained [yīn], he spent a year studying it and roughly determined the properties of this crystal ball.

It was an aggregation of desire power that he had never seen before!

Although you can make a wish directly, the method of using the power of the crystal ball to the maximum extent is still guided by the formal wish-making ceremony.

Therefore, Aldrich arranged a wish-making ceremony of the highest standard with [yīn] as the core.

His wish is simple:

Promoted to Legend——

After the wish was completed, the entire ritual circle emitted a dazzling light, and an extremely huge mysterious power wrapped around him.

Onlookers could clearly feel that the coercion emanating from him, who had been stuck at the ninth level limit for many years, began to increase again, becoming extremely deep and terrifying.

When this power reached its peak, Aldrich suddenly burst out with endless light, and his whole body instantly turned into a sun!

The next moment, the light disappeared. The bystanders, the magic circle and [yīn] itself were intact, but Aldrich himself disappeared out of thin air.

No one could sense where he went. There was no spatial fluctuation in his place, and the bloodline crystal ball left in the family also turned into a strange gray color.

People in the family can only vaguely realize that he is still alive through the deepest bloodline induction.

A thousand years after Aldrich disappeared, the brilliance of the crystal overflowed again.

This time, the person who used it was Lois, the then-reigning head of the Olivendi family. In terms of seniority, he was the grandson of Aldrich.

Considering what happened to Aldrich, he did not directly make a wish to improve himself or others, but tried to make a wish to bring Aldrich back.

However, this wish failed to take effect, and neither the ritual circle nor the crystal ball responded.

From the above results, Lois drew two conclusions:

First: [yīn] is a rare item that can satisfy the wishes of a legendary rank.

Second: [yīn] is not truly omnipotent. At least, bringing Aldrich back is beyond its capabilities.

Combining some secret information obtained by the family in the past thousand years, Lois made a vague guess.

He started to make a wish again. This time, the wish he made was:

Let yourself become the ninth level ultimate!

The crystal emits the same light that Aldrich made when he made a wish, and the light wraps around Lois like a ribbon.

When his strength reached the ninth level, the light dissipated again.

Lois struggled to control his sudden increase in power - his wish came true, and he did not disappear.

Half a month later, Lois, who had completely controlled his own power, left behind the rules for using [yīn]:

1. Do not make a wish that exceeds your level of strength.

2. Do not make wishes that exceed the legendary level.

3. Refer to Boltzmann’s “The Wishing Code”

………

In fact, the reason why the family left [yīn] to little Anvis was because they hoped that when he reaches the ninth level, he can use the wishing technique to increase his strength to the ninth level limit, thereby leading the family to make a comeback.

During his time in anonymity, [yīn]’s brilliance was finally recharged.

He originally planned to improve his strength as planned, but the news of Fiona's reappearance made him change his original decision.

Not to mention that it is impossible to reach the ninth level in a short period of time. Even if he reaches the ninth level limit, it will not help the current situation.

The enemy has proven with facts that they are not something that one or two ninth level extremes can't compete with.

Rather than using it yourself, it is better to use [yīn] in more critical places.

After careful consideration, he made a crazy decision: using vague wishing

In the book "The Wishing Code" written by the ninth-level mysterious mage [Star Wishes] Boltzmann Fenierz, vague wishing is the number one wrong way to wish.

More than ninety percent of wish-making accidents are caused by the operator's unclear description of the wish.

But Boltzmann also admitted that the more precise the wish, the greater the effort required and the higher the probability of failure.

Accurate wishing requires more energy to maintain this accuracy.

Each time a specific limit is added, the cost of making a wish will be doubled.

Little Anwes had studied this book carefully and knew the disadvantages of making vague wishes.

But unable to change any of the status quo, in despair, he placed his hope entirely on the wish-making technique and on that slim destiny.

His last wish was simple: to restore the glory of the Olivendi family.

It's a textbook wrong way to make a wish, but it's also the way to maximize the power of the wishing spell.

He succeeded, but the price was everything including his soul...

The wishing spell produced a truly miraculous effect. A soul from a distant world came across time and space, arrived at a critical time before the fall of the Olivendi family, and inherited all the memories of little Avis from his previous life.

As an important part of this miracle, Anvis, who was pulled in for no apparent reason, now had to gather his energy and think carefully about how to break the situation.

Otherwise, the fate of little Anwes in his previous life was the ending he was destined to face.
