Chapter 33 Mystery

This spell has many auras: the initial spell of the mystery system, the first and final mystery spells, the Theberos Peak in front of the mysticism, etc... ①

Many occult scholars have different opinions on whether there is a magic model for this spell, and they even divided into two factions for this reason.

Among them, the Secrecy sect headed by [Secret Keeper] Okar Kungus maintains that not all mystical spells have models, such as occult magic, which is only the external manifestation of certain mysterious rules.

Unless you can construct the complete rules themselves, there is no occult model!

The Truth Sect, headed by [Arcane Control] Anderson Manderson, firmly believes that all mystical spells have their own standard models, and mystical spells are no exception!

As long as you continue your research, one day all the mysteries will be solved!

The two factions have been arguing with each other for hundreds of years. Since neither faction can provide conclusive proof, and the strongest members of both factions are at the ninth level, no one can 'convince' the other.

To this day, whether there is a model for the occult is still a controversial topic.

However, although the background is legendary, it cannot hide the fact that its effects are very tasteless.

As a mystery spell, Mysticism has an obvious advantage: it consumes very little, so low that it can be cast at will even at the first level.

Its effect is also very simple - it randomly gives a certain 'mysterious characteristic' to a dead object that is not a magic item. Depending on the level of the caster, the effect lasts from a quarter of a magic hour to a day.

The larger the object subject to the spell, the greater the consumption. If the object is severely damaged, the effect of the mysterious spell will disappear.

The so-called mysterious properties are actually effects that are so weird that we don’t even know what they are called.

For example, the stone in Anvis's hand, through the next few minutes of research, he thoroughly confirmed the mysterious effect attached to the stone:

Every half minute, the stone will make a frog sound.

In other words, now it has changed from a [stone] to a [mysterious stone], right?

Anvis thought a little strangely.

Then, he squeezed the time, and when the next cry came from the stone, he tried to release a crack on the stone.

Crack is a first-level earth spell with the same effect as the spell name: creating a crack in the soil or rock.

The stone immediately split in half from the center, but there was nothing inside, and the mysterious properties of the stone disappeared.

At this point, he was also sure that this was an ordinary mysterious technique.

"It's this stupid spell that takes up one of my initial spell slots??"

This disappointed Anvis, who was originally full of expectations, but he slowly came back to his senses and began to think about the problems in this matter.

As a spell whose consumption can be borne by even the first level, why is its model so complicated?

Unless... that's not a spell model at all, but the rules themselves!

In other words, is the fog just a terminal-like thing? The relationship between the fog itself and the endless starry sky deep in the fog is equivalent to that between computers and the Internet?

Unexpectedly, those secret-keeping sects who only pretend to be gods and ghosts actually deceived the truth!

Muttering in his mind, Anvis shook his head.

By the way, the former little Anvis was a truth sect.

Very good, from now on, I am also one of the few wise men who know the truth!

Now that it has become my initial spell, what is the difference between it and ordinary occult spells?

Thinking about this problem, Anvis found two ordinary pieces of black iron, two high-quality magic crystals, two low-level inscribed swords, two dry tree trunks, and two growing ones from various targets.

bluebells, and two adult kangaroos.

One of them had a white mark on his left back and looked a little depressed.

Avis' experimental plan is to use a group of targets as a control group and cast ordinary mysterious spells on them.

The other group of targets cast the initial magic spell, so that by comparing the two groups, the difference in spell effects can be seen intuitively.

Anvis cast two mysterious spells on these six objects in turn. Black iron and tree trunks acquired mysterious properties without any surprise.

One of the two pieces of black iron changes color back and forth between black and green, while the other piece begins to seep water droplets continuously.

The tree trunk stood straight up, even if it was pushed down, it would stand up again. The other tree trunk began to twist itself into a twist, and then twisted back again.

When tested on bluebells and kangaroo beasts, the spells also failed normally.

However, when it comes to the magic crystal and the inscribed sword, the casting results of the initial magic spell are different from ordinary mystery spells.

Success!

That high-quality magic crystal was an earth-based magic crystal. The light yellow light that was continuously emitting from its surface had now turned on and off at a uniform and regular speed like a breathing lamp.

The density, weight and other properties of the inscribed sword did not change at all, but the originally hard blade became soft. When Anvis picked it up, its blade hung down like a dead snake.

Anvis tried swinging it twice, and the sword blade rotated flexibly in the air as he swung it, giving off a breath of freedom.

Anvis tried to 'pump' it towards the piece of black iron again. There was a sound, and under the influence of the mysterious magic, the black iron that was leaking water instantly split into two halves.

"The sharpness is the same as before, and the mysterious properties are really mysterious."

After briefly testing the attributes, Anvis put the sword and the magic crystal together, then put the other targets back to their original places, and the two lucky kangaroo beasts were also thrown back into their original cages.

…………Half a magic hour passed…………

After one-third of the magic hour has elapsed, the mysterious properties of items that have been cast with ordinary mystical spells have disappeared and they have returned to their original form.

But the mysterious properties of the other group of objects still exist, the magic crystal is still flickering on and off slowly, and the inscribed sword is still soft.

…………A magic hour has passed…………

Both objects are exactly the same as they were before the spell was cast.

…………

It was not until two magic hours later that the magic crystal finally stopped flickering, and the inscribed sword became hard and straight again.

"So, there are two obvious changes. One is the extension of the spell's duration, and the other is the expansion of the spell's effective range."

"But due to the mysterious nature of the occult itself, it is impossible to know whether its effect has also changed."

Anvis recorded these two points in his mind and manipulated the hand of the mage to return the restored object to its original place.
