Twenty-two, the night call

Twenty-two, summoned at night

Chen Caozhi celebrated the occasion at Dong'an Temple. He took a bath that night and after a fast meal, he went into the main hall and had a night talk with Zhidao Lin. Chen Caozhi was proficient in all Confucian and metaphysical classics, and was familiar with the popular Prajna, Hui Xing, and Tao.

I have also read through all the Buddhist scriptures of Seal, as well as the Tan Sutra and Diamond Sutra that I have recited in my previous life. It is not an exaggeration to say that I have learned through Confucianism, Mysticism and Buddhism. After Zhi Daolin talked about it,

I was greatly amazed by Chen Caozhi's talent and enlightenment, and believed that it was Su Hui who did not know it completely through learning. I respectfully asked Chen Caozhi to write down the questions and answers he had dreamed of from the eminent monk, so that he could spread the Dharma and pass it on to the world, so as to achieve great merit.

Chen Caozhi thought for a while and said: "Master Zhi, the two monks that I dreamed of were teaching a Buddhist scripture called "Vajra Prajnaparamita Sutra", which is about five thousand words. If I can still remember it, I will just read it.

How about recording it?"

Zhidao Lin said happily: "It's very good." He personally polished the ink for Chen Caozhi to show his piety in seeking scriptures.

At the end of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Kumarajiva, an eminent monk from the Kingdom of Kucha in the Western Regions, came to Chang'an to translate Buddhist scriptures at the invitation of Yao Xing, the leader of the Later Qin Dynasty. The "Vajra Prajnaparamita Sutra" was translated during this period. Chen Caozhi now made this Mahayana Buddhist classic several years ahead of schedule.

It has been circulating in China for ten years. As for the "Tan Sutra", which is a record of the teachings and practices of the Sixth Patriarch Hui Neng, it is not planned to be recorded. After all, the "Tan Sutra" involves the "Great Prajna", "Vimalakirti Sutra", and "The Theory of Great Wisdom".

”, “Twelve Doors Treatise” and other Buddhist scriptures, but now the Buddhist scriptures such as “Dapin Prajna” and “Vimalakirti Sutra” have not been translated. It is inappropriate for Buddhist theories to be too advanced and will be regarded as heresy by the monks.

Therefore, Chen Caozhi only recorded the "Diamond Sutra", and left the "Tan Sutra" as his occasional wit when defending difficult situations——

The ancient Buddha with green lanterns, the mountain temple is deserted, Chen Cao's left hand is writing the "Diamond Sutra" in Wang Xizhi's clear regular script, Zhi Daolin Yu Zhi Fahan, the master and his disciples are sitting on both sides of Chen Cao, looking at the strings of sutras flowing from the end of his pen

——The Buddha told Subhuti: "All appearances are false. If you see all appearances as non-appearances, then you will see the Tathagata."

Subhuti said to the Buddha: "World Honored One, there are many sentient beings who, after hearing such words and sentences, will truly believe them?"

The Buddha told Subhuti: "Don't say this! After the death of the Tathagata, five hundred years later, there are people who keep the precepts and practice good fortune. This chapter and verse can give rise to faith and take it as a reality. You should know that this person is not like one Buddha or two Buddhas.

, three, four, and five Buddhas have planted good roots in countless thousands of Buddhas. Those who hear this chapter and have pure faith even in one thought, Subhuti, the Tathagata fully understands and sees that all living beings will obtain such immeasurable merit.

Why? These living beings do not have the appearance of me, the appearance of human beings, the appearance of living beings, or the appearance of living beings. They cannot have the appearance, and they have no illegal appearance. Why? If these living beings take the appearance in their hearts, they will be for me, people, and all living beings.

Longevity. If you take the appearance of Dharma, it will be attached to me, people, living beings, and longevity. Why? If you take the appearance of Dharma, it will be attached to me, people, sentient beings, and longevity. Therefore, you should not take Dharma, and you should not take Dharma. That’s why.

For this reason, the Tathagata often says: 'You monks, you know that my Dharma is like a raft, the Dharma should be given up, not to mention the illegal one!'"——

When Zhi Daolin saw that "everything is false," he couldn't help but nod his head, understanding it in his heart. Then he saw the sentence "The law should be given up, let alone illegal", and he reflected on himself——

Chen Caozhi was going to transcribe the more than 5,000 words of the "Diamond Sutra" tonight. When he had finished writing more than 3,000 words, he felt some pain in his shoulders, back and wrists, so he got up and walked in the courtyard, practicing the Five Animals Opera under the half-moonlight.

, Zhi Daolin, Master Zhi Fahan and his disciples stayed with each other silently without saying a word.

After practicing Wuqinxi, Chen Caozhi returned to Yiboliao and continued to write down the Diamond Sutra. He started writing the Diamond Sutra at the beginning of Xu Shi and had already written for more than two hours. When he heard the temple servants using the sounding wooden "Duo Duo" to tell the time, he had already

It's the third watch, and there are about 800 words of scripture left. It will take half an hour to finish.

At this time, the sound of horse hoofbeats was heard at the foot of the mountain, and someone came to Dong'an Temple at night.

Zhi Daolin ordered Zhi Fahan to go and see what was going on. Zhi Fahan went out for a while and led someone outside the main hall and said, "Master, the emperor has summoned Chen Tanyue."

Outside the monastery, a man bowed and said: "Suwei Zhonglang General Mao Anzhi paid homage to Master Lin. Following the emperor's oral instructions, he summoned Qian Tang and Chen Cao to see him."

Zhi Daolin raised his eyebrows and looked at Chen Caozhi. Chen Caozhi paused while writing, frowning slightly, obviously surprised. Zhi Daolin said: "Chen Tanyue, please continue to write the scriptures. Pindao will ask first."

Know exactly what happened."

Zhi Daolin got up and came to the outside of Yiboliao. He asked Mao Anzhi to sit down in the main hall and asked him calmly.

Mao An was about thirty years old. He had a short beard and ringed eyes, and was powerful and strong. His father was the famous general Mao Bao of Zhoulinghou in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, a leader of the refugees. He was defeated and died for his country during the Northern Expedition. Mao An was resolute and fatherly, brave and heroic.

, deeply relied on by King Sima Yu of Kuaiji, he first joined the Fu army and moved to be the prefect of Wei County. His brother Mao Muzhi, the Marquis of Jian'an and the champion general, had a close relationship with Huan Wen. Therefore, Mao Anzhi had a good relationship between the imperial court and the Xifu.

Sima Yu assisted the government and summoned Mao Anzhi to join Jiankang as the general of the Zhonglang of Suwei. He was the third most powerful figure in Jiankang's military power after Huan Mi, the central leader, and Lu Shi, the minister of the fifth army.

Mao Anzhi did not like metaphysics, but his brother, the champion general Mao Muzhi, had an old relationship with Zhi Daolin, and no one in Jiankang City from King Kuaiji on down disrespected Zhi Daolin, so Mao Anzhi also respected Zhi Daolin very much and treated Zhi Daolin respectfully.

: "An Zhi also doesn't know why the emperor summoned Mr. Chen, so he doesn't dare to make wild guesses."

Zhi Daolin knew that even if Mao Anzhi knew it, he would not tell it, so he asked: "Does the emperor want Chen Tanyue to enter the palace overnight?"

Mao Anzhi said: "That's not necessary, but after tomorrow's Taiji Palace dismisses the court, Chen Caozhi must wait in the palace to see you."

Zhi Daolin smiled and said: "Then it's too late to set off early tomorrow morning, so why does Mao Tanyue have to rush around late at night?"

Mao Anzhi smiled bitterly and said: "Anzhi is afraid that if Mr. Chen is not at Dong'an Temple, he will have to look elsewhere. The emperor is suffering from dryness after taking medicine. If he does not see Mr. Chen by then, he may incur the emperor's wrath."

Zhi Dao Lin said: "Chen Tanyue is copying scriptures for Pindao. It will take about two quarters to finish. How about asking Mao Tanyue and his entourage to take a break at Xiangke Residence?"

Mao An said: "I'll have a rest after meeting Mr. Chen. I'll return to the city with Mr. Chen tomorrow morning."

Zhi Daolin ordered the waiter to prepare tea and serve the guests. Mao Anzhi saw a person standing on the corridor of the Buddhist hall. He was very majestic and asked: "Master Lin, is this person a monk of your temple?"

Zhi Daolin said: "No, this is Chen Tan Yue's servant, a man named Ran Sheng."

Mao Anzhi sighed: "This son is majestic and rare. If he were to serve as a guard in the palace, wouldn't he be mighty?"

After sitting around for a while, I saw Zhi Fahan coming with Chen Caozhi. On that day, the king of Kuaiji married his daughter. Mao Anzhi and Chen Caozhi met once. They exchanged a few words and agreed to set off tomorrow at the end of the year and the beginning of the month.

Each went to the temple to rest with his clients.

The next day, when the sky was dimming, Chen Cao's master and servant ate their fast meal, and together with Su Wei Zhonglang, Mao Anzhi and the two guards, left Dong'an Temple and returned to Jiankang. Zhi Daolin personally sent them out of the mountain gate and said together: "

The "Vajra Prajnaparamita Sutra" passed down by Chen Tanyue really made the poor monks feel like they were enlightened, and their knowledge was greatly broadened. Chen Tanyue's merits are immeasurable."

Chen Caozhi was extremely talented and outstanding in the Situ Mansion's Dazhongzheng examination, and was impressed by four people. Sima Yu, the King of Kuaiji, admired Chen Caozhi very much and wanted to promote Chen Caozhi to the top class. This matter had already spread, and Mao Anzhi naturally knew about it, but

Unexpectedly, even an outsider like Master Lin had such high regard for Chen Caozhi, and he couldn't help but be a little curious, thinking: "This Chen Caozhi is very handsome, but at such a young age, he really has such amazing talent? But this guy is calm.

, and didn’t ask why the emperor summoned him? Of course, even if he asked me, he couldn’t tell me, this is the rule in the palace.”

Mao Anzhi and two guards rode on horseback, Ran Sheng also rode on horseback, and Chen Caozhi sat on the bullock cart with his eyes closed and meditative. Yesterday he and Lu Weirui visited Huashan Mountain and wrote the Diamond Sutra in the middle of the night. They got up early in the morning and were on the road again. They were really a little sleepy.

.

Mao Anzhi saw that Ran Sheng's riding skills were very poor, and he relied on his two strong legs to hold the big white horse docilely, so he smiled and gave some tips on riding horses. Ran Sheng was not very good at reading and practicing calligraphy, but he was really good at riding and shooting.

It's easy to understand with just one point, and you can draw inferences from one instance. Riding a big white horse makes you feel much more brisk.

Mao Anzhi was also very happy, so he talked to Ran Sheng all the way, and was surprised to learn that Ran Sheng could recite "Sunzi" and "Wei Liaozi". He tried to ask Ran Sheng to recite a few paragraphs, and sure enough, he was accurate word for word. He also knew that Ran Sheng could shoot birds from his head.

, who was outstanding in archery, said: "Ran Sheng, how about being my guard? I will ensure that you have a good future." Without waiting for Ran Sheng's reply, he shouted to the advancing ox cart: "Master Chen, are you willing to let Ran Sheng become a monk?

"

Chen Caozhi said from the car window: "Mao Zhonglang, Xiao Sheng is not my Chen family's servant, he is free."

Ran Sheng flatly refused: "No, I want to follow my young husband."

Although Mao Anzhi loved Ran Sheng's talent as a fierce general, he couldn't force it. He laughed and gave up, saying: "It would be good for Ran Sheng to follow Mr. Chen to Xifu. You should practice hard and don't waste it."

Ran Sheng was also very grateful to Mao Anzhi for teaching him riding skills, and said loudly: "Thank you Mao Zhonglang for your appreciation. Ran Sheng will work hard."

A group of people entered Jiankang from the east gate and headed straight to Taicheng in the north of the city. Taicheng was the forbidden city and was separated by an inner city wall. They could not enter even if they were in a state of rapid expansion. Only Chen Caozhi followed Mao Anzhi into Taicheng, and they were everywhere along the way.

We walked half a mile to the north bank of the dry river where the willows were planted, and arrived at the gate of the Western Province. The Western Province is the Zhongshu Province, which was established by Wei Cao Pi. It is an agency that upholds the monarch's will, manages secrets, and issues government orders.

At this time, it was almost time and the court meeting had dispersed. Mao Anzhi led Chen Caozhi to see Wang Biaozhi, the minister's servant. When Wang Biaozhi saw Chen Caozhi, he smiled and said: "Chen Caozhi is here, follow me to see the emperor."

."

Chen Caozhi followed Wang Biaozhi to the palace again. Wang Biaozhi asked: "Do you know why the emperor summoned you?"

Chen Cao said: "I don't know, I just wanted to ask Wang Shangshu for advice."

Wang Biao said: "I don't know either. It seems that your reputation has spread to Ye Ting, so the emperor wants to summon you. You don't have to be anxious. Just deal with it carefully. By the way, King Kuaiji is also in the palace."
