Forty-five, different paths lead to the same destination
Zhu Fata, the elder of Waguan Temple, said: "Please ask the Empress Dowager to move to Xiangjiyuan. The vast hall of Xiangjiyuan is quiet and can be used by the two Tan Yue to argue."
The Empress Dowager Chu ordered the central leader Huan Mi: "If there are officials and ladies who are willing to listen to the argument, please do not stop them."
In this way, the officials who came to offer incense, such as Wang Xuan, Wang Xizhi's wife, Xi Xuan, Lu Na's wife, Zhang Wenwan, Lu Weirui, Zhang Tongyun, Xi Daomao, Zhang Mo, Chen Shang, Gu Kaizhi, Xu Miao, Liu Shangzhi, Wang Xianzhi, Xie
Shao, Yuan Tong, Zhuge Zeng, Wen Lin, and Cai Xin all came to Xiangji Courtyard. Empress Dowager Chu Suanzi sat on the eight-legged bed, with a white gauze curtain separating them from everyone. The rest of the female family members sat on the left side of the Guangtang.
, the man is on the right, Sima Yu, the king of Kuaiji, and Wang Biaozhi, the minister's servant, are also seated.
When entering Xiangjiyuan, Xie Daoyun whispered to Chen Caozhi: "Zizhong, let's have a vigorous debate today. Don't be willing to give in. No matter you win or lose, you will not be shaken."
Chen Cao said: "You should go all out, and I hope Brother Yingtai will do the same."
Wang Xizhi's wife Xi Xuan, who was walking behind, ordered her son Wang Xianzhi to stop Xie Shao and ask who Zhu Yingtai was. Xie Shao naturally said that he was a distant relative of the Xie family. Although Xi Xuan was a little confused, she did not guess that Zhu Yingtai was actually Xie Daoyun.
Ten years ago, when Wang Xizhi was appointed internal historian of Kuaiji, Xi Xuan often interacted with the female family members of the Xie family in Dongshan. She liked the intelligent and eloquent Xie Daoyun very much and wanted Xie Daoyun to marry his son Wang Ningzhi. Later, Wang Xizhi resigned and left Shanyin in Kuaiji. From then on, Xi Xuan returned to the palace.
I have never seen Xie Daoyun before. Now Xie Daoyun has a long and graceful figure and has long lost the appearance of a young girl in her past. She is also wearing a long gown and a crown, so naturally Xi Xuan cannot recognize her.
Xiangjiyuan of Waguan Temple is where the elder Zhu Fatai gathered to preach. Behind the courtyard is a small hill, covered with pines and cypresses, green and quiet, with various wild flowers blooming lonely under the pine trees. Dotted with the green pine forest, there are drums in the evening and bells in the morning, and Sanskrit chants are faint.
Sima Yu, the king of Kuaiji, saw everyone sitting and the hall was silent, so he opened his mouth and said: "Chen Caozhi, Zhu Yingtai, what topic do you two want to debate today?"
Chen Caozhi bowed to Xie Daoyun and signaled that he would do as he pleased.
Xie Daoyun then said: "Please ask the Queen Mother and the King of Kuaiji to come up with the question."
Empress Dowager Chu thought for a while behind the white gauze curtain and said: "Poetry has six meanings, the third is Bi, the fourth is Xing, please two gentlemen try to explain the similarities and differences between Bi Xing."
Xie Daoyun made a gesture of invitation, and Chen Caozhi nodded and said: "I will explain it to the Queen Mother: Zheng Kangcheng said, 'Those who compare, see the current mistakes, dare not criticize, use comparisons and analogies; those who are inspired by it.
, Seeing the beauty of the present, feeling disgusted with flattery, taking good deeds to use metaphors to persuade them.' Zheng Kangcheng's theory is only to encourage and punish, it is too restrictive, and it is not a grand theory. Those who think it is a comparison will compare it with another thing;
, preface other things to arouse the words to be chanted. Comparison and excitement are both proposed and metaphorical. Looking for things to express feelings is called comparison; touching things to arouse feelings is called excitement. Comparison is explicit and implicit.
"
Zheng Xuan and Zheng Kangcheng were great masters of Confucian classics, and their annotations on Mao's poems were regarded as a model by later generations. Children's education must begin with Zheng's annotations on Mao's Poems and Notes. Chen Caozhi now directly pointed out Zheng Xuan's faults, which can be described as bold.
Xie Daoyun looked at Chen Caozhi and continued: "Xing means to rise. The metaphor of Xing is euphemistic. It arouses emotion when touching things. It seems that you have no intention to make do with it. You pick it up and put it down casually. It is not as beautiful as the following text.
They are connected with each other and are not the same as asking for things to be managed deliberately with affection. The logic is smooth and the lyrics are coherent. Mao's poem Wang Feng used "raising the water, not flowing away the salary" to praise Xu Jia's labor, while Zheng Feng used "raising it"
The freshness of "water, not flowing out of firewood" to brothers is nothing more than a source of inspiration, and "drinking horses from the Great Wall Grotto" and "sunrise in the southeast corner" are not really derived from horses and the sun."
Empress Dowager Chu praised: "This is a very good theory. It is not limited to the learning of pre-Confucianism, but has its own original ideas. This can be said to be a person who is eager to learn and think deeply."
Sima Yu, the king of Kuaiji, flicked his tail and said with a smile: "This question cannot determine whether Chen Caozhi or Zhu Yingtai is better. It can only be regarded as the two of them jointly answering the Queen Mother's question. I have a question, please two."
They argued with each other and competed with each other on Chapter 40 of "Laozi", "The Opposition, the Movement of Tao"."
"Rebellion leads to the movement of the Tao" is a famous debate topic. Although this topic has been debated many times in Situ's Mansion Talking Party, Sima Yu always feels that there is something unfinished. Today I want to hear about Chen Caozhi and Zhu Ying
Taiwan’s high opinion——
Chen Caozhi bowed slightly and said: "Brother Yingtai please come first."
Xie Daoyun thought for a while and said in Luoyang Zhengyin with a strong nasal tone: "Wang Fusi said, 'The high and the low are the basis, the noble is the base, the low is the foundation, the useful is the useless, and this is the opposite.'" Chapter 16 says: 'Everything is in the clouds'
, each returns to its root'; Chapter 25 says, 'The word is called Tao, the name of strong is called big, the big is called passing, the passing is called far, and the far is called counter'. Those who have the Tao will do what they want to do, and counter it.
True."
Chen Cao's way: "Reverse has two meanings. One is the opposite of positive and negative, which is violation; the two are reverse (return) and reverse, which is return. "Reverse" in "Laozi" integrates the two meanings, and Guan's passing means
Yuan, Yuan is called "anti". It can be seen that the "anti" of "anti is the movement of the Tao" has both the positive and negative meanings and the reverse meaning of back and forth. "The Doctrine of the Mean" says, "Be born in today's world and oppose the ancient way, so
It is said in "Shang Jun Shu" that "Tang, the king of Wu, thrived without cultivating the ancients; the Yin and Xia Dynasties were destroyed, and they died without changing the etiquette. However, those who oppose the ancients are not necessarily wrong, and follow the etiquette."
There may not be many of them.'"
Xie Daoyun argued: "No, Lao Tzu's rebellion does not mean going back and forth. The Tai hexagram in "Yi" means "there is no return", and "Xunzi" means 'the beginning is the end, and the end is the beginning. If there is no reason for the ring.' "Lu Shi Chun Qiu"
》'The wheel of heaven and earth, ends and begins again, and ends again and again', this is the opposite of Lao Tzu——"
At this point, Xie Daoyun suddenly realized that this was a flaw deliberately exposed by Chen Caozhi. The two meanings of "rebellion" were clearly stated by Chen Caozhi in his "Laozi's New Meaning".
On the contrary, there are subtle differences, and it is not repeated back and forth——
Xie Daoyun was a little annoyed, but also a little grateful. What was annoying was Chen Caozhi's flaw. She didn't want to accept Chen Caozhi's inheritance, so it would be useless to win. What she was grateful for was that Chen Caozhi seemed to want to lose to her.
Help her become famous.
Unexpectedly, Chen Caozhi said: "Is it a repetition to go back and forth? Is the Qinhuai River we crossed yesterday the same as the Qinhuai River we entered today? How can a person step into the same river twice? The name Yi has three meanings, Yi is also,
Change is easy, but it is not easy. All things are endless, and nothing changes in an instant. This is change."
Xie Daoyun was slightly embarrassed, and dared to admit that Chen Cao's flaw was to lure her into a trap. At the same time, he was refreshed. This kind of argument is interesting. He thought to himself: "Zizhong is really my good friend!" He argued: "Going back and forth means going and coming back.
It is different from the cycle that begins again and again. According to "Huainanzi. Original Taoist Teachings", "the cycle is endless and the water flow is endless." This cycle is repeated and the beginning is not a round trip."
Chen Caozhi and Xie Daoyun each held an opinion on the two meanings of "rebellion" in "Laozi". They quoted scriptures and argued repeatedly. Sima Yu, the king of Kuaiji, couldn't help waving the tail in his hand, secretly praising Chen in his heart and wishing them good luck in their analysis.
The essence of Zhu Yingtai has exceeded the principles discussed in the Situ Mansion in the past. He has already seen Chen Caozhi's knowledge and eloquence. He did not expect that this Zhu Yingtai could compete with Chen Caozhi. He is very skilled in reasoning and very sharp in rhetoric. If not
Chen Caozhi, everyone present has been defeated.
Wang Xizhi's wife Xi Xuan asked her son Wang Xianzhi in a low voice: "Jing, how do you compare with the other two?"
Wang Xianzhi shook his head and said: "It's not as good as that."
Xi Xuan was quite frustrated. After Wang Ningzhi and Wang Huizhi failed to argue with Xie Daoyun, the arrogant Xi Xuan once wanted the best seventh son Xianzhi to argue with Xie Daoyun. After defeating Xie Daoyun, he walked away, which was considered as revenge on Xie Daoyun.
, because Xi Tan died of illness, Xi Xuan went to Jingkou to attend the funeral, and then gave up. Now it seems that offering it to him may not be able to argue with Xie Daoyun——
Lu Weirui sat next to her stepmother Zhang Wenwan, staring at Chen Caozhi who was arguing eloquently. She was not interested in arguments. Although she had read "Laozi" and "Zhuangzi", she did not ask for deep explanations. She only loved flower art, calligraphy and painting. Now listen to Chen Caozhi
Cao Zhi was arguing with Zhu Yingtai. For some reason, he felt a little disappointed in his heart——
Chen Caozhi and Xie Daoyun argued repeatedly. Gradually, they each held different opinions and ended up with the same goal. It was unclear who changed their opinions during the debate. This was a gradual change. When Xie Daoyun realized this,
I was really surprised and happy. I looked at Chen Caozhi and thought to myself: "Could it be that Zizhong knew all my responses and then slowly guided me until the two of them agreed? No way, isn't Zizhong a god?
People!"
Xie Daoyun did not believe that Chen Caozhi could control the debate between the two. He believed that it was because the two inspired each other when analyzing the topic of "the movement of opposition to the Tao", and they had a newer and deeper understanding of this topic, so they reached the same goal through different paths.
Sima Yu held his hand and said: "What is so wonderful is that the movement of the anti-Tao in "Laozi" is attributed to the three chapters of "Yi". What is even more wonderful is that the two of them actually abandoned the original theory and analyzed new meanings. This is really rare.
What a wonderful thing -" She bowed to the Empress Dowager Chu in the white gauze curtain and said: "Empress Dowager, it has become a difficult problem to determine who wins and who loses."
Empress Dowager Chu smiled and said: "Both of them are winners, and each will be given three hundred pieces of silk."
Sima Yu, the king of Kuaiji, said happily: "The Queen Mother made a wonderful decision. There are two winners in a debate. How amazing! How wonderful!"
Chen Caozhi and Xie Daoyun both thanked the Queen Mother for her grace, and the wonderful debate in Xiangjiyuan of Waguan Temple came to an end.
Zhu Fatai respectfully sent Empress Dowager Chu back to Taicheng, and the believers in the Buddhist temple dispersed.
In the large crowd, Chen Caozhi and Lu Weirui could not talk much. They only waited to see each other on the 15th of this month when Gu Kaizhi and Zhang Tongyun got married. After this time, Empress Dowager Chu gave both jade and silk at the Buddhist temple, and the Jiankang scholars even believed that Jiangzuo Weijie and Chen Caozhi were married.
The Lu girl's marriage is about to come true, and everyone praises the marriage.
Yuan Tong, Zhuge Zeng, Wen Lin, and Cai Xin walked out of the mountain gate slowly, whispering.
Zhuge Zeng scratched his head and said: "Chen Caozhi won this argument, but Zhu Yingtai also won. How can this be calculated?"
Wen Lin smiled and said: "The Queen Mother has made a wonderful decision, who dares to criticize it! This debate is indeed wonderful, and the result is even more unexpected."
Yuan Tongtong: "One million dollars is nothing, but after losing the money, Zhu Yingtai still stayed in Jiankang. This is really annoying!"
Cai Xin said: "Zhu Yingtai is so good at eloquence. I'm afraid that the Xie family's girl can't argue with him. Then he wants to marry the Xie family's girl. How can this be unreasonable?"
