Sixty-three, six hundred miles to hear the flute

On the second day of the twelfth lunar month, it was freezing when I got up early. The wetland on the bank of Taolin Creek was so frozen that people breathed white air. The sound of water in the creek gave people a particularly cold feeling. I like the weather to be fine.

The morning sun is shining warmly.

At the end of the Mao period, Chen Caozhi, Liu Shangzhi, and Ding Chunqiu went to the Xu Cottage to say goodbye to Dr. Xu, and immediately returned home. Thinking that they had been away from home for several months, they felt like they were about to return home.

Wei Xie, Gu Kaizhi, and Xu Miao were sent outside the west gate. When passing by Zhenqing Taoist Temple, Chen Caozhi went to say goodbye to Taoist Li.

By the pavilion outside the west gate, Gu Kaizhi said: "Zizhong, next year when you come, you will live in Taolin Xiaozhu. I have already told Lao Mangtou and his son not to charge a penny. You are worth living there in the spring and autumn. Don't come too much."

It’s late, otherwise it would be boring to just see red fall all over the ground if the peach blossoms fade. The peach blossoms here bloom very early, starting in early February - Zi Zhong, remember to draw peach blossoms and show them to me later.”

Wei Xie said with a smile: "Fuck it, those dried lacquer pills are really effective after taking them for a long time. My heartache has been greatly relieved this month, so I have the energy to go back to Shouyang."

Chen Cao said: "If Master Wei takes it consistently, his heartache will definitely be cured. But today I have to say goodbye to Master Wei. I wonder when we can see each other again?"

Wei Xie said: "The world is difficult and it is not easy to meet each other. You have to do your best."

When the Wei Association said this, both Chen Caozhi and Gu Kaizhi almost shed tears.

Wei Xie said with a smile: "Cao Zhi, Kaizhi, don't be sad. As a teacher, I hope you two will become famous all over the world soon. Don't lose to Zhang Andao's disciples. In this way, you will have no regrets as a teacher."

Gu Kaizhi said: "I won't lose. It's hard to say that Zi Zhong is not as good as Lu Weirui now."

Chen Caozhi bowed and said: "Master Wei, I will work hard."

Gu Kaizhi asked again: "Why didn't Lu Weirui come to see Zizhong off?"

Gu Kaizhi's question was not quite right. Everyone had strange expressions on their faces after hearing this.

Chen Caozhi said calmly: "I went to the Lu Mansion yesterday to say goodbye. Madam Wei Rui wishes Dr. Xu and I a safe journey."

The journey is long, it is important to hurry up, cherish each other, and say goodbye with tears.

Chen Cao and his entourage passed through the city and headed towards the east road. Looking back, the prosperous city of Wujun gradually became far away.

He didn't sleep last night and was really a little out of energy. Liu Shangzhui and Ding Chunqiu sat on the bullock cart to catch up on some sleep. Chen Caozhi also crossed his legs on the bullock cart and closed his eyes to relax. He felt his thoughts racing around and there seemed to be flowers in his eyes.

As the brocade spreads out, the figure of the innocent girl with her hair in a ponytail is looming among the flowers and trees——

"Xiao Langjun, Xiao Langjun, someone is calling us." Ran Sheng shouted from the side of the car.

When the ox cart stopped, Chen Caozhi jumped out and looked towards the road. He saw three people walking quickly. One of them was a servant of Xu Academy, and the other two were strangers. They had never seen him before. Judging from their clothes, one looked like

The steward of a wealthy family, and the other an errand boy.

The three of them caught up, and the servant of Xu Academy gasped: "Chen Langjun, I finally caught up with you——"

Chen Caozhi asked: "What happened? Did Dr. Xu come to call me?"

The Xu Academy servant shook his head and said, "No, no, these two are looking for Chen Langjun." He turned to the man who looked like a steward and said, "This is Chen Langjun."

The middle-aged man who looked like a manager wiped the sweat from his forehead and saluted respectfully: "My young master is a good friend of Huan Yihuan who joined the army. Hearing that Chen Langjun had a wonderful understanding of music and was good at playing the recorder, he specially studied in Jianhuan.

Kang took a boat for three days and three nights to come to Wujun just because he wanted to hear Chen Langjun's wonderful voice."

Chen Caozhi asked: "Where is your young master now?"

The steward said: "At Qili Bridge on the Jinghe River."

The Qili Bridge on the Jinghe River is in the northwest of the county. It is not far from the Xu Academy, but it is at least seven or eight miles away from here.

Ding Chunqiu poked his head out of the car cover and said impatiently: "Who are you? If you don't come early, you won't come later. We are in a hurry to go home!"

Chen Caozhi showed no signs of embarrassment and said to the steward: "Please lead the way, I will go with you." He asked Ran Sheng to follow him holding the Keting flute, and then ordered Lai De to drive and continue east with Liu Shangzhi and Ding Chunqiu.

Okay, he and Ran Sheng met in the small town of Qingpu.

Laide said: "I'm waiting for you here."

Chen Cao said: "Ran Sheng and I can walk faster than the oxcart. We are coming to De. No delay." He turned around and made a gesture to the steward to please go ahead.

The steward was very happy and gave fifty coins to the servant of Xu's School and led the way. The servant of Xu's School bowed to Chen Caozhi and went back to the school.

The steward said as he walked: "I rushed to Wu County early this morning and found out that Chen Langjun was studying at Xu's School. When I arrived at Xu's School, I found out that Chen Langjun had already left for his hometown. Really?

I was so anxious that I broke out in a sweat, and I was delighted to hear that the servant said that Chen Langjun was not far away, so I came here——"

Ran Sheng said: "Then I hope my husband is willing to go with you."

The steward quickly smiled and said: "Yes, yes, thank you Chen Langjun, thank you Chen Langjun."

Chen Caozhi said calmly: "For Huan's friends who join the army, I will go wherever they go."

The four people walked around half of Wujun City and came to the Jinghe River. After walking upstream for another three or four miles, they saw a pontoon spanning both sides of the Jinghe River, and a three-foot-long awning boat moored at the southern end of the pontoon.

The steward pointed to the awning boat and said, "Mr. Chen, that's the boat. I'll go and report it first."

Chen Cao said: "No need, I'll play a piece of music and leave."

The steward took a few steps forward and shouted towards the awning boat a few feet away: "Master, Master, Mr. Chen Cao and Mr. Chen of Tang Dynasty are here."

The bow of the ship rippled slightly, and a tall and tall young man walked out of the cabin. He was about the same age as Chen Caozhi. He had slanted eyebrows and eyes as bright as stars. He was quite heroic, but he also had a very thick rosy air.

The powder on his face is really thick, and the whiteness is as white as snow. It is really strange that these two completely different temperaments, heroic and powdery, appear on this young man's face at the same time.

The young master looked at Chen Caozhi twice, cupped his hands and said, "I would like to hear the elegant performance."

Chen Caozhi stood under a Gongsun tree on the bank, smiled and greeted the young master, took the wooden box from Ran Sheng's hand, and took out the Keting flute——

Ran Sheng was also carrying a simple stool in his hand, which Chen Caozhi drew and asked Laide to make. It was foldable and very convenient. Ran Sheng loved it like a treasure and admired Cao Zhi so much that he carried it wherever he went.

I like to pull this bar stool apart in front of many people, fold the two sides together to form a small bar stool, sit on the ground, and feel very proud.

Chen Cao spread his robes and sat on a bench. He held the flute in both hands and evened out his breath. The mouth of the hole flute touched his lips, feeling slightly cold. He looked at the water of the Jing River and a wisp of flute sound came out.

Chen Caozhi played Ji Kang's qin music "Changqing" and "Duanqing" which he edited. The music not only has the high-pitched music of the qin music, which is different from the popular customs, but also has the subtle and affectionate chants of the Xiao music.

, under the warm sunshine of winter, on the shore of the pontoon where we meet strangers, the wonderful sound of the flute is sometimes like willow branches catching the wind and spring light, sometimes like summer flowers with their fragrance coming, and like the bright autumn moon and warm winter sun...

…The beautiful scenery of the four seasons is fleeting, just like the water of the Jing River in front of you, rushing forward and unable to be saved.

A leaf of the Gongsun tree, still green after winter, fell silently. The small fan-like leaves fell on the flute tube, and then slid down the green and clear flute tube——

Chen Cao reached out and grabbed the leaf, and the flute sound stopped.

Chen Caozhi stood up, inserted the "Xiao Gu" into the flute tube, put it back into the wooden box, cupped his hands towards the young man who had been standing at the bow of the boat, turned around and drifted away.

Ran Sheng quickly put away the stool and followed in stride.

The young master on the bow of the boat said to the cabin: "Sister, Chen Caozhi is gone."

A tall girl walked out of the cabin, stepped onto the bow of the boat, stood side by side with the young master, looked at Chen Caozhi's back, and said softly: "No wonder Huan Yi praised him so much and didn't hesitate to give him a Keting flute. Listening to this

The song is unforgettable."

The young master didn't take it seriously and asked, "Is it worth it for my sister to travel six hundred miles for three days and three nights just to hear this song?"

The girl said: "It's worth it."
