Post-production of a movie is definitely a boring and tedious process.
Rough cut, formal editing, then watch it several times, and then perform the final fine cut to ensure that the connection between each scene is not abrupt, control the time of each plot, and connect perfectly before the transition.
Another thing, the length of the movie!
Sometimes in order to control the duration within a suitable range, you have to make choices. This is undoubtedly very tangled in the last round of fine editing.
The original version of "Terror Cruise" is 99 minutes long, which is undoubtedly too long.
Even if some sensitive scenes such as religion are deleted, there are still 93 minutes.
After repeated deliberation, the film was finalized at 87 minutes!
Horror movies need to be fast-paced, and the more tense the better!
Then comes the soundtrack. Tang An doesn’t understand this aspect either. He explains his requirements to the post-production base, and the other party’s professionals will naturally handle it. Then the sound effects editor and the editor, Tang An, will exchange opinions and reach an agreement.
That’s it.
There is also the recording of special effects. "Terror Cruise" only requires special effects for a few shots, which is quite simple.
Then came the dubbing and narration synthesis, which took three or four days.
On May 21st, all post-production was completed, and the finished film was magnetically transferred again and burned to film. Several more backups were made.
I came to China Film again with the film. Today, Han Sanping made an appointment with the heads of the operation departments of major theater chains to make a preliminary evaluation of "Terror Cruise" as a basis for future film arrangements.
Last year's "Shark Tank" actually skipped this step. China Film made tens of millions, so it wasn't too difficult for major theaters to arrange a certain schedule for a movie.
This is the strength of large companies!
But that means during the National Day period, even if 28% of the films scheduled on the first day are not given to China Film Group, they will not get much box office, so they will just treat them as good sales.
When we came out of the base, there were no groups of reporters guarding us, so there was less trouble.
Some time ago, Tang An couldn't bear to be disturbed. In the first two days, he thought about speculating for a while, but later he became tired.
The reporters' questions became more and more tricky, and not only Xu Ke, but also Jay Chou, Liu Weiyi, and Mai Chaohui were also pulled out.
Nowadays, the debate on the Internet is getting more and more intense, and everyone has supporters.
However, it was just a debate between movie fans and fans. The person involved did not make any radical remarks, but only added fuel to the flames behind the scenes.
Everyone has a tacit understanding and has a common goal, which is exposure and attracting more audience attention. There is no benefit in doing it in person.
Now there is no need for reporters to block Tang An. They don't need Tang An to say anything, they just have a keyboard.
All depends on one hand!
When I arrived at China Film and Television, I informed the front desk, and the girl at the front desk took Tang An to a large conference room.
"Director Han!"
"Mr. Wang! Brother Lin, hello everyone!"
China Film Star Cinema, Magic Film United Cinema, New Film Alliance, China Film Southern Shinkansen, Jiangsu and Zhejiang Times Cinema, Liaoshen Northern Cinema, Guangdong Dadi Cinema, and Western Sichuan Pacific Cinema.
The eight major theater chains cover most provinces and cities across the country, and are basically all present.
"Director Tang is here!" Han Sanping nodded, looked at the theater representatives, and took them directly to the screening room without talking nonsense.
He handed the film to the projectionist and took advantage of this moment to chat briefly.
"This is Mr. Zhao from Xingmei, Mr. Qian from Lianhe, Mr. Sun from New Film Alliance, Mr. Li from Shinkansen, Mr. Zhou from Times, Mr. Wu from North, Mr. Zheng from Dadi, and Mr. Wang from Pacific!"
Han Sanping introduced Tang An one by one.
“I won’t introduce Director Tang too much, everyone knows him!”
"When we first met Director Tang, he was as young as expected!"
"Director Tang is young and promising. He made two feature films at the age of 25, which is amazing!"
"My kid is about to graduate from college. He's only two or three years younger than Tang An. Now he plays games all day long. It's really annoying!"
...
Even though they are well-informed and have met many geniuses and elites in the film and television industry, Tang An's age and experience also amazed them.
"I'm just braver and luckier. I still need to rely more on your help!"
After chatting for a while, the movie started showing immediately.
Whether it was Tang An, Han Sanping, or the theater representatives who came with a purpose, they were all sitting quietly on their seats, waiting for the movie to start.
"I don't know if it will be scary, but I have prepared quick-acting heart-saving pills!" Mr. Qian of United Cinema Line made a joke.
"Ha ha!"
"Mr. Qian will wait and see. All I can say is that there are no very bloody scenes!" Tang An said with a smile.
Remembering that "Shark Beach" also relied on thrilling plots to win, everyone felt relaxed now.
When the movie opens, the theme song comes to mind, Xu Jinglei hugs a little boy and comforts him while crying.
Something seemed to have happened, and the little boy looked very scared.
The camera flashed by, and Xu Jinglei changed her clothes. While urging her son, she went to the yard to collect clothes, and also picked up her son's toys and an overturned sailboat in the pool.
The camera turned again, and through the gap in the curtain, the little boy was painting.
Xu Jinglei was squatting on the ground wiping the paint that the little boy had spilled on the ground, when there was a knock on the door.
I went out but found no one!
The camera turned again, and Xu Jinglei was packing her clothes, but no one noticed that the clothes she was wearing were back to the time when she first appeared on the scene, a white suspender T-shirt.
The camera turned again, and Xu Jinglei in a white suspender T-shirt was still cleaning the floor, while the little boy was crying.
Just like at the beginning, Xu Jinglei was holding the little boy and comforting him.
Sensitive people have noticed something is wrong.
However, everyone suppressed their doubts and continued watching the movie.
After that, Xu Jinglei went to the beach and went to sea with a few friends. They encountered a storm and boarded an unmanned cruise ship.
A masked man suddenly appeared on the cruise ship and attacked them. In the final fight, Xu Jinglei knocked the masked man into the sea.
Is it over?
Their doubts did not last long, but the next scene made everyone straighten their bodies.
Another boatload of people boarded the cruise ship, and the scene was exactly the same as before!
Only then did everyone realize the real excitement of the movie, and everyone was staring at the big screen.
In the end, Xu Jinglei turned into a masked man. Just like in the opening 36 minutes, he was knocked into the sea by "himself".
When he saw Xu Jinglei returning home, killing himself at home, and driving to the beach, he was hit by a large truck, killing both mother and son. Xu Jinglei suddenly appeared not far from the accident, as if no one could see it.
she!
Seeing this, everyone couldn't help but break out in cold sweat and had goosebumps all over their bodies.
Finally, Xu Jinglei got into a taxi on the roadside and rushed to the beach again!
