Chapter 198 The Punishment Results of Fury and Pierce

Washington is a little more than 300 kilometers away from New York. But it only took Leo three minutes this time to fly back to the Irwin Building, and flew directly into the underground floor.

Finding an open space at random, Leo enlarged the Mustard Seed House and opened the door.

Bucky immediately started shouting: "Leo, you just looked at the photo very well. There may be other things about Steve in the house. Why did you suddenly bring us back? You shouldn't call me on the road."

"

While talking, Bucky walked out of the Mustard House.

"Haha...it's nothing, nothing." Leo said casually,

"Before I left, I forgot to turn off the high-frequency sound wave workshop in the laboratory. Stim called me to remind me to come back quickly. I was afraid that the workshop would accidentally explode later, so I was in a hurry."

"Is this really true?" Bucky didn't believe it.

"Why did I lie to you!" Leo put his arm around Bucky's shoulders, "Besides, Peggy's house is right there and you can't run away. I'll just take you there next time."

Bucky curled his lips, believing what Leo said.

He couldn't help it if he didn't believe it. Anyway, he was back in New York now.

But Leo complained in his heart at this time: You still want to go to Peggy's house...go to hell, you big-headed idiot!

Anyway, Leo didn't dare to go there anymore. He couldn't afford to offend the big boss who was hiding in Peggy's house. If he couldn't afford to offend him, just let him stay there.

Steve was so tight-lipped that he kept everyone in the dark.

I hope he never comes out again.

"Leo, is it okay if I come out like this?"

Suddenly, Natasha's voice came from behind Bucky.

Leo took a closer look and saw that Natasha was lying down with her head sticking out of the Mustard Seed House.

Her head was now eight times as big as the others, which looked quite scary.

Leo quickly said: "Natasha, you go back first, I will make you smaller before you come out. You are so big, I won't even be able to feed you in the future..."

After a lot of tossing, Natasha finally became normal size and got out of the mustard house.

Afterwards, Leo sent the two men back to work at their respective posts.

Construction of the second base in the suburbs has started, and now is the time when manpower is needed.

Time flies so fast, another week has passed in the blink of an eye.

The review of Fury and Pierce is finally over.

In an office in the S.H.I.E.L.D. base, Linda was discussing with Peggy and General Foss the results of the handling of Fury and Pierce.

"The president sent me the final handling results of Agents Pierce and Fury this morning. Let's take a look." Linsa handed two copies of the handling report to Peggy and General Foss respectively.

Peggy glanced through the report quickly, then suddenly raised her head in shock, looked at Linsa and said:

"The president wants me to return as director of SHIELD?"

"Yes, Director Carter. SHIELD is now in dire straits and needs a capable and responsible director, and the president only thinks of you."

Linsa's behavior at this time was much more polite than when she first arrived. Peggy's work attitude and sense of responsibility these days have won her basic respect.

Peggy frowned: "Please give me some time to think about this matter before giving a reply to the Security Council."

"Of course. If you have any questions, you can directly communicate with the president." Linsha nodded.

General Foss also finished reading the report at this time and said: "From the beginning to the end, you have not found any evidence that Fury is Hydra, so you decided to directly lower his agent level from level eight to level one.

Is the punishment too severe?"

"This is the president's decision. I have no right to express any opinion on it." Facing General Foss, Linsha's explanation became official.

General Foss felt that this result was completely delaying Fury's future. He thought for a while and asked:

"Then if I want to transfer Fury back to the military, is that possible?"

"As long as you follow the normal process, submit an application, obtain Agent Fury's personal consent, and obtain approval from the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Fury can be transferred back to the military."

"Okay, then I'll go tell Fury." General Foss took the processing report and walked to the guard room where Fury was detained.

Seeing General Foss go out, Peggy also picked up the processing report and stood up:

"Pierce is already quite old, and you actually downgraded his agent level to level one. I don't know if he can climb up again in the future.

Ms. Linsa, it’s better for me to tell Pierce the result in person, lest he can’t accept it.”

Linda couldn't deny Peggy's suggestion, but she didn't stop it.

Peggy smiled lightly and walked out of the office.

In the guard room with pale white walls, Fury heard the movement, raised his head suddenly, and saw General Foss pushing in the door.

"My review results are out?" Fury asked immediately.

"Yes, it's out."

General Foss closed the door behind him,

"The agent level will be reduced to level one, and you will be restricted from leaving the country for ten years. You will have to go to the nearest S.H.I.E.L.D. branch every week to report what you did during the week. This is the result of your punishment."

"Fortunately." Fury smiled lightly and said casually, "There is no restriction on my promotion path."

General Foss glared:

"Are you okay? What level of agent were you when you first transferred from Army Colonel to SHIELD?"

"Level 6."

"It's been four years and you've only been promoted two levels. How long will it take you to get back to where you are now?"

"If there is no special meritorious service, it will probably take about ten years." Fury said.

"In more than ten years, you will be over fifty years old! How can a mere eighth-level agent be as powerful as an army general?" General Foss began to follow the temptation.

"Why don't you go back to the army with me? You will still have the rank of colonel. After more than ten years, although I can't guarantee that you will become a lieutenant general, it is absolutely no problem to get the rank of major general."

"General, thank you for your kindness." Fury refused directly.

"You also know that I don't like competing for fame and fortune, and the whole world has now entered a period of peace, with few wars, so there is nothing in the military to attract me.

I now prefer SHIELD's working methods and work content. Now that I have become a first-level agent, I can also be exposed to more grassroots tasks. I am actually looking forward to it."

General Foss stared at Fury for a long time, but the persistence in Fury's eyes did not change at all.

"Alas!" General Foss sighed, put his hands behind his back, turned around and walked out.

"I'm old and I don't understand what you young people are thinking. If you are free in the future, remember to chat with me, an old man."

Fury looked at General Foss's back and said sincerely: "Thank you."

General Foss, who had already walked outside the door, smiled without looking back and closed the door behind his back.

Fury simply packed up his things and walked out of the guard room with his head held high.

Although he was wrongly accused and punished, he finally eliminated almost all the Hydra agents within S.H.I.E.L.D., and the honor and pride in his heart allowed him to change his hair with glory, without feeling at all the haggardness of being imprisoned for a long time.

At the same time, the door to the guard room next door also opened, and a haggard-looking Pierce stepped out.

As if there was some kind of destiny pulling them, the two people turned their heads at the same time and looked at each other deeply.

Fury's eyes were bright and his lips were smiling. But Pierce's eyes were crazy, his pupils suddenly stood up, and he didn't look like a human being.

Peggy followed Pierce and walked out, interrupting the two of them looking at each other:

"Agent Pierce, Agent Fury, I personally believe that you two are innocent. I, Carter, will always remember the great contributions you have made to S.H.I.E.L.D.

I also hope that you will not resent the Security Council because of this. After all, their attitude towards Hydra will only be worse than ours. I hope that you will work hard in the future and strive to regain yesterday's glory as soon as possible."

The two of them thanked Peggy one after another, and Peggy took the lead and walked away, farther and farther away.

After Fury and Pierce looked at each other inexplicably again, they walked towards the corridor in opposite directions.
