Chapter 72 Peter and Matt's grievance

In the lobby on the first floor of the El Building, Leo and three people walked out of the elevator.

Heather and Matt may have accepted each other. The two were talking and laughing. If they weren't in the company, Leo would have thought they were holding hands!

Leo felt the familiar smell of dog food behind the two of them, just like he spread it to everyone in his previous life.

After getting out of the elevator, Matt and Heather said goodbye to Leo and prepared to go back to the law firm next door.

Suddenly, Matt's body paused for a moment, his ears moved, and then returned to his nonchalant appearance.

Heather didn't notice anything unusual about Matt, but Leo did.

But Leo didn't know what Matt had discovered.

Although Heather didn't know what happened just now, she saw that Matt hadn't returned to the office yet and thought that Matt was reluctant to leave her.

So, Heather smiled sweetly and said:

"Matt, please go back quickly. The chairman and I will take others to visit the company later, and they have been waiting for a long time.

When I get off work, I will go to the office to find you and we will have dinner together."

Matt didn't know what he was thinking, and suddenly said:

"I just thought about it and realized that it's not important for me to go back to the law firm. Why don't I go with you to meet the two reporters from the "Daily Bugle".

Mr. Erwin, is that okay?"

Leo was a little confused. What Matt said didn't match what he said upstairs just now.

Why does Matt suddenly want to stay? Could it be related to the unknown anomaly that Matt just discovered?

Leo suddenly remembered that when Matt paused just now, he was facing the reception room of El Technology Company.

In the living room, there are only Mary Jane and Peter Parker.

Could it be that Matt actually knows Peter and seems to know Peter’s identity as Spider-Man?!

But he just called Leo at the front desk, why didn't there be any reaction when he heard Peter's name?!

Leo couldn't guess the specific reason.

But this is the most reasonable hypothesis that Leo can think of. Otherwise, why would Matt suddenly find a reason to go with Leo and Heather to meet Jane and Parker?

Moreover, judging from the stiff expression on Matt's face, it seems that he does not have a good relationship with Peter.

Of course, these are just Leo's guesses, and further verification is needed to see if they are true.

"Of course, it won't be too much trouble if there is one more person. Let's go to the living room right now."

To verify, Leo only needed to quietly watch the show.

So, the three of them walked to the living room on the first floor in front.

The closer he got to the living room, the clearer the heartbeat he heard in Matt's ears, and the more certain he was that the person sitting in the living room was the Spider-Man he met three years ago.

Matt is blind, so he doesn't distinguish a person by his appearance, but by his sound and smell.

Odor is easy to understand. Everyone has a unique body odor that may be strong or light. With his excellent sense of smell, Matt can distinguish the subtle differences between smells.

But voice doesn't just refer to the sound of other people speaking. Matt uses voice to identify a person, and it also includes the sound of that person's heartbeat.

People's physical fitness is different, the strength of their heartbeats is different, and the sounds they produce are naturally different.

More than four years ago, when Matt was still in high school.

There was a man whose heartbeat was much louder than that of ordinary people, and who likes to walk on rooftops like Matt suddenly broke into Hell's Kitchen and made a big fuss here.

When the gangsters in Hell's Kitchen saw that man, they shouted that Spider-Man is coming!

Matt also knew that person's name.

From then on, Spider-Man would go to Hell's Kitchen almost every day for half a month, even driving the gang members to shoot wildly in broad daylight.

But Spider-Man usually just subdues gangsters, instead of killing them directly, but waits for the police to come and arrest them.

But the gang members in Hell's Kitchen themselves were related to some local police who did nothing, so after a while, the group was released again.

Many gang members who had just come out of the police were in very violent moods and began to exploit the ordinary people of Hell's Kitchen even more.

He even shoots ordinary people if they disagree with him.

The appearance of Spider-Man has turned the originally peaceful Hell's Kitchen into a mess.

In order to maintain the stability of Hell's Kitchen, Matt came forward to fight with Spider-Man.

As a result, Matt discovered that his dexterity, which he was quite proud of, was no match for Spider-Man, let alone speed and strength.

Fortunately, Spider-Man was targeting criminals and did not embarrass Matt too much, nor did he hand Matt over to the police.

However, Spider-Man is still active in Hell's Kitchen, causing Hell's Kitchen to become more and more chaotic.

As a last resort, Matt can only chase after Spider-Man every night, using his own set of theories to "understand emotions and reason" with Spider-Man.

Maybe Spider-Man was fed up with Matt's comments, or maybe Spider-Man realized that he really couldn't solve the chaos in Hell's Kitchen.

After he cursed Matt a few times as "stubborn ass", he angrily left Hell's Kitchen.

Before leaving, Matt shouted to Spider-Man: "You are not welcome in Hell's Kitchen, please never come again."

Spider-Man turned around and said okay, then disappeared into the night.

Later, the Spider-Man became active in Queens and never came to Hell's Kitchen again.

The relationship between Matt and Peter was forged four years ago.

Moreover, Peter easily defeated Matt and even took off Matt's hood.

So, all along, Peter has known who Night Stalker is. But Matt has no idea who Spider-Man is.

Today, Matt finally heard the familiar heartbeat from four years ago, and also learned Spider-Man's name, Peter Parker.

In the short time that Matt was thinking about it, Leo and the others had almost reached the living room.

Peter felt someone approaching, so he pulled Mary Jane and waited at the door early.

From a distance, Mary Jane saw the leader Leo, and felt that Leo's handsome face looked familiar, as if she had really seen it somewhere.

Mary Jane indeed remembered faces better than names. After a while, she recalled the evening she met Leo in Hell's Kitchen.

"Peter, among the three people in front, the one walking in the middle is Leo Erwin. I have already remembered him. He didn't lie. I did see him in Hell's Kitchen half a year ago.

However, according to my impression, it was his first time in Hell's Kitchen at that time. Unexpectedly, in just six months, he was already the sole director of a company."
