Chapter 36 Classics and Learning

The "Tao Te Ching" is divided into the first part "Tao Jing" and the second part "De Jing". The full text is more than 5,000 words, with a total of 81 chapters, which is the number of ninety-nine. This sutra can be explained by applying one of the sentences

Zhao Ran's impression of reading the book - it's as mysterious as it is mysterious! The so-called subtle words and great meanings are by no means empty words.

Each sentence can express many levels of meaning, and it can express many meanings when connected with the previous one. When combined with the context, it can lead to different understandings. What Zhao Ran saw before traveling through time was the excitement. After traveling through time, he came to this world and wanted to

Take a look at the doorway, but it's not that simple.

To give the simplest example, Zhao Ran looked at a familiar sentence - the heaven and the earth are not benevolent and regard all things as stupid dogs; the saints are unkind and regard the common people as stupid dogs. According to the literal understanding, it means that the heaven and earth have no benevolent heart and regard all things as stupid dogs.

Treat people like ruts; saints should not have benevolent hearts and treat people like tweeds.

Linked to the following - between heaven and earth, it is like a mess! It is empty and unyielding, and it becomes more and more active. It is better to keep the center if you talk too much. The meaning it wants to express seems to be that the rules of Taoism are cold and indifferent.

, is empty, without any emotions or bonds. If you want to touch its law, you must also uphold the heart of nothingness - the sky and the earth are like a big bag, empty but will not collapse, but it will continue to grow while running. The more you talk about it,

, the less you can express, the less you can express it. Therefore, "it is better to stay in the middle" - it is better to hold on to emptiness to cope with all changes.

Just a few short sentences. The more I thought about it, the more I felt that there was an aftertaste behind it. The more I thought about it, the more profound it seemed to be. Zhao Ran had read many novels about monasticism before traveling through time. He often quoted this sentence and then angrily asked the protagonist to use it.

It is a tricky thing, or it is a declaration that the protagonist is fighting against the sky. In fact, it is ridiculous. Whether he takes revenge angrily or chooses to fight against the sky, it goes against the original meaning of this sentence-the best way to seek the truth is to persist in the emptiness of reality.

Among them, don't care about it, which is the so-called "don't be happy with things, don't be sad with yourself".

Should this sentence be the annotation of "The Supreme Being Forgets Love"? Zhao Ran was not sure. He suddenly thought of Buddhist thought again. Isn't this the source of "emptiness"? No wonder the Taoists have always criticized Buddhism as Taoism.

Rebellion...

Zhao Ran was thinking so hard that he felt dizzy and his eyesight went dark. He didn't dare to think about it any more, so he took a long breath and forced himself to look at the "Tao De Jing" with a simple mind - okay,

Just think of it as reciting famous sentences, or the exam syllabus for future generations, which will make it easier.

After reciting the previous ten chapters, Zhao Ran encountered difficulties. Each chapter contained only a few sentences, so it was not a problem to memorize it. However, it was very difficult to follow the entire chapter fluently, because these verses were difficult to read.

There are more aphorisms thrown out by the old man casually. They seem to say whatever comes to mind and say whatever comes to mind. Each chapter is separated and there is no clue in the chaos.

But if you really want to think so, it is not the case, because every subsequent sentence will be more and more difficult to understand if there is no previous sentence as a foreshadowing.

Well, Zhao Ran admitted that the first time he seriously studied the Tao Te Ching, he suffered setbacks and was completely defeated. There was nothing left in his mind except a pile of mush.

In the next few days, Zhao Ran went to the library to read every night, and the result was desolate. He thought he understood a lot of the content and memorized it, but he just didn't dare to ponder the deeper meaning. After thinking about it clearly,

, the next step will definitely lead to a deeper level, and then I will continue to think about it, which makes me almost vomit blood every time I think about it.

After many days, Zhao Ran couldn't stand it anymore and went to Yu Zhiyuan for advice. When he confided his experience in great distress and cited several problems he had encountered, Yu Zhiyuan looked at him with a strange expression.

After a long time, he asked: "Did you figure this out yourself?"

Zhao Ran smiled bitterly: "What if I didn't figure it out myself? No one pointed me out..."

Yu Zhiyuan was silent for a long time, then he cupped his hands and said: "My brother is a great talent, I am not as good as him!"

Zhao Ran didn't know that because of his vision from another world, his understanding of scriptures was already very profound and broad in this world. The issues he considered were difficult even for a talented Taoist priest like Yu Zhiyuan.

I have never thought about it. For example, where does the origin of the universe come from? What is the relationship between time and space? How many people in this world have read similar popular science articles?

But Yu Zhiyuan also has his own strengths. Compared with Zhao Ran, his advantage lies in his single-minded belief. He quickly put aside the "messy" ideas that Zhao Ran poured into his ears, and gave Zhao Ran guidance: "Observe

"The Tao Te Ching" without reading the "Xiang'er Commentary" is not the right way." - You kid, reading the Sutra without reading the commentaries, what kind of truth is this?

Well, Zhao Ran patted his forehead. This was really an oversight. The simplest common sense of people in this world is not so natural to Zhao Ran. It is not surprising that he was negligent.

"Laozi Xiang'er Commentary" was written by Zhang Tianshi, the founder of the Taoist sect. It would be unbelievable to enter the Taoist sect without reading "Xiang'er Commentary". But Zhao Ran is a time traveler. To put it bluntly, he lacks awe for Zhang Tianshi in his heart.

I can't blame him if I can't remember it.

So, Zhao Ran began to read "Laozi Xiang'er Notes" again.

"Lao Zi Xiang Er Zhu" is Zhang Tianshi's explanation of the old man's "Quotations". Each sentence is annotated to let people understand what the old man wants to say. Zhao Ran read it roughly and soon got the idea.

Ten thousand people have ten thousand interpretations of the Tao Te Ching, so which one is the correct one? Obviously, Zhang Tianshi believed that his understanding was the closest to the old man's original intention.

To put it simply, Zhang Tianshi proposed that to abide by the Tao, one must not only abide by the Tao mind, but also abide by the Tao precepts, which means conforming to the way of heaven in terms of behavioral norms. Zhao Ran believes that this is the basis for Zhang Tianshi to create the Tao sect. Without the Tao precepts to maintain the upper and lower levels, there would be no Tao sect.

——Taoism is an organization, and cultivating the Tao is just a means. Cultivating the Tao may go back infinitely, but the birth of the Taoism began with Master Zhang Tianshi.

With the Taoist sect, if people join this organization, then they have to come up with some sweeteners, right? Zhang Tianshi borrowed the words of an old man in "Xiang'er Zhu" to explain the method of immortality, that is, the method of cultivating the Tao. This is the inheritance of the Taoist sect.

The most important method of mantle. But Zhao Ran felt that the "Tao De Zhen" was about tracing the origin of Tao, and it would be very awkward to forcibly link it to the method of immortality.

For example, the old man has already said that Tao is nothingness, there is no distinction between good and bad, and no thoughts of good and evil. But Zhang Tianshi commented that "Tao establishes life to reward good, and establishes death to threaten evil." He also said, "Immortals

A scholar is afraid of death and believes in the Tao and is sincere, so he is in harmony with life." Then Zhao Ran couldn't help but ask, since there are rewards and punishments, there must be likes and dislikes. Doesn't this mean that the way of heaven is thoughtful? As the old man said, isn't it?

Is there a contradiction? Therefore, Zhao Ran’s understanding is that the Tao Te Ching is a work to understand the way of heaven. Perhaps one can practice to the deepest level and understand the method of ascension from it, but that belongs to the highest level category and is by no means an ordinary way of cultivation.

People can participate in the research.

In addition to the method of immortality, Zhang Tianshi also talked about what ordinary people should do. After all, those who have the qualifications and talents to participate in Taoism are a minority, so what should the rest of the majority do? Zhang Tianshi continued to explain the old man's words,

It expounds the rules of secular governance, what the king should do, what the ministers should do, and what the people should do. That is, "the king who governs the country should cultivate virtue, and the loyal ministers should assist him in practicing the Tao. The Tao will be virtuous, peace will prevail, and the officials and the people will cherish

If you admire it, it will be easy to cure!"

From this, the Taoist sect established the operating rules of the secular royal court, and supervised it with the jungles in the ten directions, and used the heaven and earth in the four directions as tribute to help those with Taoism ascend.

Zhao Ran did not hesitate to speculate with the greatest malice that perhaps in terms of Taoism in this world, the "Tao De Zhen" is not the most important classic. The real core classic should be "Xiang Er Zhu". From his point of view, Zhang Tianshi

The explanation given to the old man is purely religious. It is precisely because it unifies all the understandings of the world from a religious perspective that Taoism exists.

Well, random thoughts are just random thoughts. Zhao Ran has penetrated deeply into the Taoist sect, so he must integrate into this ideological system. Even if he disagrees deep down, he must continue to write superficial articles well, just as if he is reading the test questions and standard answers of this life.

.

Starting from reading "Xiang'er Notes", Zhao Ran finally started to get started.
