Chapter two hundred and twenty-first complacent camp

At the foot of the bare Yelang Mountain, the Yelang Village with black tiles and low walls looks quite inconspicuous.

The little bandit leader knelt in front of Suluma, wiped his tears and prayed.

"Sir, we really don't want to be bandits. We really have no choice."

"As long as you spare us our lives, our village is willing to work as cattle and horses."

Su Lu waved his hand: "Chen Si, lead the troops in and take a look. If it is really a bandit camp, I will allow you to kill people. If not, we will camp here tonight."

Chen Si whistled, and a group of guards rushed into the stockade like a north wind sweeping the earth. After a great deal of excitement, the men, women, and children in the stockade all came out with swords, guns, swords and halberds.

Chen Si led his troops back and reported to Su Lu: "Master Hou, this is not a serious bandit camp. It should be a camp formed by poor people who have the ability to protect themselves."

Su Lu nodded and gave instructions: "Han Daniu, lead the troops back and get Lieutenant Su and the grain team to come over. Chen Si, go into the stronghold and clean out the house. We will set up camp here tonight."

The guards entered the village in groups and soon drove the village into chaos. After a lot of noise, Chen Si occupied many unowned houses.

The grain team arrived quickly. The peasants unloaded the grain from the pack horses, untied the pack horses pulling the carts, and began to drink and feed the horses. After finishing their work on the animals, they only took care of themselves.

Lao Wang squatted next to the pack horse, watching his pack horse snorting and eating grass, feeling very happy in his heart.

This village should be a bandit village. On the last trip, the general surnamed Li led the team, and he and many of his fellows were arrested. The little leader named Gao Gao even gave him a piece of dry biscuit to eat.

Things are changing, and this year when I came to our house, I finally sat down to eat properly, leaving you all greedy.

Lao Wang chewed the dry pancakes loudly and drank the gruel loudly, which made the bandits holding their heads greedy.

"Lao Wang, Brother Lao Wang, go and ask if we can leave?"

The little boss took a good look at Lao Wang who was drinking porridge, and felt hungry, so he couldn't help but ask Lao Wang for help.

Lao Wang raised his chin, and the groove-like wrinkles on his face seemed to bloom, "That's not what you said last time when you starved me for a long time."

Gao Gao's dark face turned red, and he squatted and walked a few steps:

"Brother Wang, can't I apologize to you? You know, our boss ran away with the old brothers. We are not made to be bandits at all, and we are not considered bandits at all."

"Brother Wang, you are kind-hearted. You will definitely not let us starve and freeze. For the sake of that dry pancake, you can't just die without saving us, right?"

Lao Wang was deceived by the height, and his pride in his chest was aroused. He came to Su Lu with a black bowl.

When he came to the Su Lu Gate, Lao Wang suddenly realized that if the master is unhappy, thinks that I have too many things to do, and does not allow me to serve as a guard, it will be a huge loss.

Lao Wang became anxious and stood at the door without daring to move forward. But with dozens of pairs of eyes on his back, Lao Wang had no shame to go back.

Niba came out of the yard carrying a bowl. He had eaten and was about to take the bowl back to the kitchen. When he saw Lao Wang wandering around in front of the door, he couldn't help asking strangely.

"Old Wang, if you don't eat well, why are you wandering around here? You're too tired. Don't you want to do it anymore?"

Lao Wang was startled, but he gritted his teeth and said with a smile: "Master Niba, look, those people are quite pitiful."

Niba looked at the height and suddenly laughed: "Why are they still kneeling? They just went home. They are not bandits. The Marquis didn't even think about doing anything to them."

When Lao Wang heard this, he smiled happily, came back with a bowl in hand, and looked down at the gang of bandits.

"Okay, Lord Marquis is generous. I begged him for mercy, and he agreed to let you guys go. You must be a good man when you go back and stop being bandits."

A group of bandits didn't know what was going on, and they all said nice things and complimented Lao Wang. Gao Gao even invited Lao Wang to his house for dinner.

Lao Wang followed happily. He could have a full meal today, but it was a pity that he ate early and wasted a lot of money.

The next day, before the team set off, Su Lu called Gao Gao over and gave instructions:

"From now on, your village will serve as a temporary transfer station for the Guards. As a reward, this cart of food will be left to you, and you will distribute it to each household."

Gao Gao looked at the cart of grain and his breathing suddenly became heavy. Buying these grains costs a lot of money. This gentleman is so generous.

Su Lu continued to give instructions: "If your boss comes back in the future, don't make trouble. Just send someone over to inform the guards. You will be rewarded heavily."

Gao Gao's black face turned into a smile, and he said with loyalty: "Don't worry, sir, I promise to handle everything for you properly."

The team set out. The march was much faster this time. Su Lu directly raised his own banner. The bandits in the small group saw Su Lu's name and did not dare to provoke him.

Several large bandit villages also had Su Lu's defeated generals as leaders. When they saw Su Lu's banner, they immediately dispersed, let alone robberies.

Ten days later, the grain team finally arrived at Lintao Tunbao and delivered the grain to the Guards camp.

Lao Fan was so happy that his nose and eyes were almost in line with laughter. If he could deliver the food this time, he had successfully completed the task assigned by the camp. Old Xiao had no reason to cause trouble for him.

The grain depot in the camp was basically empty, and the front army and the right army were about to go to war. It was a time when they were in urgent need of food and grass. The road along Su Road was like a life-saving plaster.

He Geng came to the rear camp in person, saluted Su Lu and said:

"Master Su is worthy of being our number one general in the north. You can do things that others can't do easily, Master Su. I admire you."

Su Lu's face looked a little ugly. Old He Geng wanted to see the Han army approaching the Han River. The advice he sent to the camp was like a mud cow drowning in the sea, with no trace of its hair. Now he is pretending to be a wolf with a big tail.

"I don't dare to praise you like a boss, I just gave you some food, and now I've got the job done."

He Geng put his arm around Su Lu's shoulders and said, "There is a military discussion ahead. Let's go and listen together. You are a hotly-recruited general in our camp. If you have any opinions, feel free to raise them."

Su Lu was dragged to the Central Military tent. The Colonel of the Central Military checked Su Lu's official credentials and let them in.

The tent was filled with people in crimson, lake and green robes of various colors, all listening carefully to Xiao Cong's lectures behind the curtain.

"At noon tomorrow, Zhang Gu will supervise all the armies to attack Yumen Pass and march out of Diaoyin County."

Xiao Cong said excitedly, as if the Yumen Pass was broken right before his eyes, and victory was right in front of him.

Su Lu spoke: "I disagree. I think it is not the right time to attack Yumen Pass and send troops out of Diaoyin County."

"Wow"

All eyes were focused on Su Lu who was speaking.

Su Lu continued: "This counterattack, the left army and the right army went too smoothly. I suspect that Tule is brewing a conspiracy against our camp in Beiyang."

He Geng suddenly asked: "General Su Du, do you have any conclusive information?"

Su Lu was stunned for a moment, "Intelligence, I'm not a Dingxiang Guard. I've been fighting all the time. Where can I get intelligence? Do you believe my intuition?"

Xiao Cong in front also spoke: "Master Hou, you are a good hand at transporting food. No bandit dares to block the way, but this big battle is different.

Mr. Hou, you have no experience in this area, so it’s better not to give advice."
