Chapter 66: It's Me

The little grandson squatted under the jujube tree and dug an ant nest.

He hiccupped. The tofu made by grandma was so delicious that he couldn't help but eat too much.

Now grandma has gone to take a nap, leaving him alone to play in the yard.

He followed the ants carrying rice grains around the jujube tree. When he got bored, he picked up two ants and rubbed them together. When he put them together, they started fighting.

He looked up and suddenly saw a man lying on the wall, standing outside looking at him.

The man was wearing a worn-out bamboo hat, the brim of which hid his face in the shadow. He was wrapped in a tattered robe, carrying a bamboo basket for picking tea on his back, and holding in his hand a sickle used when climbing mountains and cutting grass.

"Daddy." The little grandson's eyes widened and he shouted happily. In his vague memory, his father went into the mountains wearing exactly this outfit.

Hearing the little grandson's cry of joy, the man lying on the wall muttered incoherently: "Tie me."

The little grandson ran under the wall with his little feet, looked up at the person coming, and saw hair on his hands but didn't think anything strange, "You're back."

"Yeah." The man lying on the wall said inarticulately.

The little grandson said happily: "Dad, come down, come down."

"Okay." The person jumped off the wall, exposed a tail, and quickly put it back into his shabby robe.

He took a piece of fruit from the bamboo basket at the back. It was a big peach, already ripe, and the red color was very attractive.

When the grandson reached out to pick it up, the person who came took it back. He wiped the peach on his clothes and removed the lint before passing it to the grandson.

The little grandson took it and took a big bite, and the sweet juice immediately flowed into his mouth.

"It's so sweet." The little grandson said with a smile. He had eaten peaches that were equally sweet before.

"Let's go out and play." The visitor took out another peach from the basket and bit into it.

The little grandson gnawed on the peach and nodded in agreement. They held hands and quietly went out and walked towards the woods behind the house.

After finishing their meal and stopping briefly at the inn, the Daqin people's food team headed for Yangzhou City, leaving the male and female storytellers to stop at Uncle Shi's house.

They spent the rest of their lives cleaning up the leftovers and serving Maomao, the picky old man, before taking a break.

Cao'er got a lot of herbal seeds this time.

When the heat subsided, she was just about to take the three men from the inn to cultivate the medicinal garden, but she immediately changed her mind when she heard that Zhou Jiuzhang was going to Ximulin.

It just so happened that I wanted to collect another cart of cassia fruits for the rest of my life, so I hitched the cart to the ox cart, and the seven of us piled in and went out.

The little white fox was swimming in the river. When he saw Yu Sheng and the others going out, he quickly pulled them to the shore with his little hooves, shook off the water and quickly caught up.

Bu Ju glanced at the inn behind him, "Aren't you afraid of losing something?"

"It's okay." Yu Sheng didn't care, "The people who stole things are all in the car."

"Who?" Zhou Jiuzhang was confused.

"Go." Bai Gaoxing and Cao'er pushed Yu Sheng together.

When the grass is free, she will take a jar of ash wood wine to water her medicinal herbs. If Yu Sheng hadn't been careful, there would have been no jar of ash wood wine left in the inn.

As for Bai Gaoxing, he is the only one among the three who has enjoyed it while lying on the mattress for the rest of his life.

He insisted that Yu Sheng's mattress was better than theirs, but Yu Sheng refused to admit it, so Bai Gaoxing always wanted to change it.

"It's hard to guard against domestic thieves." Ye Zigao looked at the two of them and taught Yu Sheng earnestly, "Shopkeeper, you have to be more careful. I suggest deducting one month's wages to serve as a warning to others."

"You're not much better either." Yu Sheng said, "You've been teasing Xiaoli all day long."

"Shopkeeper, you have wronged me." Ye Zi said affectionately, "I originally wanted to steal Little Li's heart, but I didn't know that my heart was stolen by her first."

"Get out." Yu Sheng and the three of them in the car said in unison, "It's disgusting."

The little white fox also trembled, jumped off the bullock cart, and got into the rice field.

"Don't use your shallowness to insult my sincerity." Ye Zi said righteously.

Everyone ignored him and after a while of silence, Bai Gaoxing suddenly pointed to the road and said, "Hey, look, a beautiful girl is coming."

"Where is it?" Ye Zigao, who was sitting in front with his sight blocked, stood up and looked toward the avenue.

The avenue was deserted.

"Hey~" Everyone made contemptuous gestures to Ye Zigao.

Ye Zigao sat down awkwardly, "This is boring. Haven't you heard that feelings cannot withstand the test?"

"By the way, where is Liuliu, is there still trouble in wealth?" After teasing Ye Zigao a few more times, Yu Sheng suddenly remembered that he had not seen these two people today.

Cao'er worriedly said: "Liu Liu said there is always a person wandering around her house, and she won't come over for the time being because she's afraid it's an uninvited guest."

Yu Sheng looked back, "Uninvited guest? Will she be okay?"

Cao'er shook her head, "I don't know. If anything happens, she will send a message to me."

"Where is the rich man?" Yu Sheng asked again.

In the past, when the man in rich clothes was not in front of him, he was worried that the boy would go attack Maomao, but after the oil-paper umbrella was taken away by the city lord, he felt much more relieved.

"Back to the city to report on my work." Bai Gaoxing said.

"It's not easy to get rich. I haven't made any progress in the town these days. I probably won't have much to say when I return to the city to report on my work." Yu Sheng said with fake compassion.

"That's not necessarily the case." Bai Gaoxing said, "If you stay in the hut more than once a day, or look at the green flowers next door for a few seconds more, he will be able to lean on the case."

Yu Sheng was stunned, "It's true or false."

"Really, he has figured out your rules." Bai Gaoxing said, "I have seen those books, and they are clearly recorded in them."

"Who is Cuihua?" Zhou Jiuzhang gossiped, "Okay, shopkeeper Yu got the idea early enough."

Bai Gaoxing and Cao'er couldn't help laughing when they looked at Zhou Jiuzhang.

Yu Sheng said angrily: "It's just a shame, Cuihua is a pig."

Zhou Jiuzhang was stunned, "Then your taste is strong enough."

"Go, go, I'm just craving for a bite of pork head meat." Yu Sheng said.

Ye Zi said: "No wonder Cuihua didn't dare to come and drink the swill when you were here."

The group of people were talking, and when they turned a corner, a little white fox emerged from the rice field with a rabbit in its mouth that was no longer struggling.

It jumped onto the bullock cart and placed the rabbit next to Yu Sheng.

Yu Sheng patted its head and said, "Not bad. Let's go back and make braised rabbit meat tonight."

The little white fox became happy upon hearing this and was about to jump down to catch him again, but was stopped by Yu Sheng, "That's enough, that's enough. If you catch too many, Ye Zigao will eat too much."

When the little white fox heard this, he decisively lay down on the bullock cart and stopped moving.

"I……"

Yu Sheng and his party soon arrived at the foot of the tree. After getting off the car, they saw three or four bamboo rats wandering between the tree and the bamboo forest.

The lush bamboo forest at the outermost edge of the bamboo forest has also disappeared, and all those bamboos have been gnawed away by these bamboo rats.

Chu Ci frowned and said, "There must be more powerful monsters in the bamboo forest that drove them out. Let the folks in the town be more careful."

Yu Sheng agreed, looked up and saw that there was no longer a monkey on the tree, but a group of monkeys.

"Your uncle." Yu Sheng pointed at a monkey and cursed, "You even formed a group, you are getting more and more aggressive."

The monkey casually threw the pomegranate fruit in his hand towards Yu Sheng and bared his teeth at him proudly.

Ye Zigao curiously asked Bai Gaoxing, "How did he recognize the monkey?"

"Look at the butt." Bai Gaoxing said lightly, "The monkey's butt is very red after being trained by him."
