145 Equivalent Exchange

Idric was filled with annoyance. He looked back at his men whose armor was broken and covered in blood. The neat and strong team when they left had become sparse when they came back. The beautiful, smooth and plump armor was now covered with bruises from blunt force hammers.

Their faces were covered with blood scabs, and their eyes showed exhaustion. Several of them were already lying on the saddle, not knowing whether they were alive or dead, as the horses galloped up and down. Their anger had long been extinguished by the blood of their comrades.

Since they rushed towards Bashkorto, they have encountered various enemies along the way. At the beginning, everything was as expected. The only ones chasing the refugees were bugbears and Nazva's human warriors. The knights were quick and easy.

Cut them off their horses. Pushing forward, they encountered a group of advancing Nazwa warriors beside a hedgerow on a farm.

"Follow me!"

After Idric shouted, he picked up the sword in his hand and led the knights into the team of human warriors.

The battle went as smoothly as expected. These human warriors were quickly turned into corpses on the ground under the raid of the knights. The knights jumped off their horses to clean up the battlefield and let the horses rest. Suddenly, they heard a sound caught in the trees.

Suddenly there was the sound of heavy footsteps on the other side of the hedgerow.

A huge head poked its head out from behind the hedge. His yellow eyes glanced everywhere, and finally locked on a young knight who was looking up at him.

"Hill Giant! Let's go!"

A heavy sound of wind fell from the sky. The poor young knight saw the giant face to face for the first time. Maybe he was frightened. Before he could make any reaction, he turned into a flattened can like the dough under the rolling pin.

Juice spurted out from the crack.

"Quickly retreat! Turn back!" Idrick saw this scene, and he only had time to issue a warning, but the situation suddenly took a turn for the worse. The knights ran towards their horses, but what happened was too sudden.

Several more hill giants, relying on their huge bodies, crashed in from the dense hedges. They swung huge wooden sticks and smashed them down with sticks as thick as a man. Several low-level knights who were too close to them disappeared in an instant.

Under the stick.

More heavy sounds were heard, and some terrifying hands stretched out from the hedge, seeming to be about to crawl onto the road.

"Retreat! Retreat!" the knights shouted, while using their spurs to pierce their horses as hard as they could to speed up.

This terrifying ambush was like a giant stick being swung at the head. It is difficult to explain why these impulsive giants could endure until the end of the battle, but it just happened.

It is difficult for a melee lineup without spellcasters to deal with large monsters that are also melee fighters. Idric rushed left and right and rescued a few low-level knights from certain death, but more knights had already died.

"Get behind me! Charge formation!"

A group of ogres suddenly emerged from behind and blocked the intersection. Idric used all his strength to urge his war horse, mustered up his fighting spirit and waved the long sword in his hand, rushed out of the intersection, and led his men out, but

The ogre waved the big stick in his hand, and still knocked back some knights who could not resist, including their horses and men.

When Idric looked back, he saw that after such a momentary encounter, a full third of the people in the team were missing!

"ah!"

He let out a heartbreaking cry!

And a team of tall monsters chased behind them, taking long strides and chasing them desperately.

What is this! A team of this size!

Ogre! Fire giant! Frost giant!

These tall monsters looked like a herd of elephants moving slowly from a distance, but the team of knights got out of the gaps in their sticks like children in a kindergarten, and could even be described as running away in a panic.

Such an elite force must be a powerful warlord in Nazwa! Why does it appear here!

They spared no effort to break out of the siege, and then the team fell into a deathly silence. They silently returned to Dunihe, only to find in despair that the camp had been completely taken away, and even the villagers were gone. Fortunately, there were still some people left here.

Several cavalrymen were waiting for them to return to the village.

“Everyone is going to Red Mountain!”

So a group of people gritted their teeth and ran towards Hongshan.

"What! More than half of the fifth regiment was lost?"

When Polu, who was rushing to work in the factory, heard the news, his hands shook and he almost broke the workpiece in his hand.

He took a few deep breaths: "Where are they now?"

"Go back to their military camp in the north. Captain Leonardo has already gone over to inquire about the situation."

"I'll go over and take a look later."

Before he reached the military camp, he saw Leonardo walking out of the military camp with a gloomy face.

"Captain, how are you doing?"

"It's terrible. The team is full of large monsters. There are at least a dozen giants, as well as a large number of ogres and bugbears. Human warriors can't be counted at all."

"Everything else is easy to say, but why are there so many human warriors?"

Aren’t all humans in Nazwa slaves?

"That's not true. Once you become a warrior, you are a small slave owner in name only."

"...Isn't that the Naso Alliance Army? No, it is what it is. It should only be considered a second-rate army."

"Have they really suffered more than half of their casualties?"

"Well, we were ambushed, and we lost one-third in an instant. Fortunately, we retreated decisively, otherwise none of the more than a hundred people would be able to come back. The advantage of the giant's size is too great in a melee."

"So I'm under a lot of pressure."

"Don't panic, your defense is so insidious, it should be possible to trap these giants to death."

It gets dark very early in this season, and soon, night falls on this wilderness. A group of bugbears and ogres carrying maces are crouching in the grass like wild beasts, quietly waiting for the opportunity.

The arrival may seem like it can be eliminated. They are just a bunch of beasts, they just know how to use weapons.

They followed the fleeing knights to this place. Although everything here is very strange, there is no city wall, only a shallow earth embankment, and there are only a few earthen platforms like steamed buns outside the military camp, and a few others that are not special.

The tall round tower, is this all their defense?

The ogre leader licked his pigtails. With these few defensive measures, the people here are enough to defeat them! Those round towers should be mage towers. Just touch them first, dig down the mage towers, and the rest

These defensive measures are not worth mentioning at all!

The leader patiently led the remaining boys to lie down in the grass and wait for the moon to pass through the zenith. That would be the time to attack at night. Darkness has never been the enemy of the ogres.

When the time was up, the leader waved his hand, and a group of huge monsters suppressed the urge to shout and rush forward. They crawled on the ground and moved toward the mage towers. They were already very close. They jumped up and charged.

It only takes 20 seconds, no, 15 seconds to rush in!

"It seems that there is no problem, everything is here."

Just as he finished thinking this, he heard the screams coming one after another from the boys around him. He looked up and saw that the boys had many strange metal thorns stuck on their bodies, which were pierced very deeply because of their weight.

The boys who stood up took two steps and then fell down. They held the soles of their feet pierced by the same thorns and let out earth-shattering screams.

"It's broken, the night attack failed."

The leader stood up and shouted: "Abandon the night attack! Move forward! Attack by force!"

Suddenly, a beam of snow-white light shone down from the tall tower in front of him, shaking him so hard that he couldn't open his eyes. A strange, dull, rhythmic drum sound sounded from all directions.

"Hey, there are still ambushes among humans? Do you still beat drums at night? Come and fight melee if you can!"

When he opened his eyes again, he only had time to see a bunch of bright light spots flying down from the earthen platforms and hitting the shields of the boys in front of him. Those who were thicker than his own were able to withstand it.

The shield of the javelin did not play any role and turned into wooden spikes and flew away. The strong muscles of the boy behind the shield exploded like a bubble and sprayed towards the ground.

"What's this!"

Just when he thought of this, his body flew out like a broken sack, dragging blood mist and shattering.
