Chapter 18

"I heard that several of Roosevelt's previous messages were sent from Asia." Swallow whispered softly as he rubbed his temples together.

"Maybe he is Asian." Geng Chaozhong smiled.

"Maybe he is dancing with me." The swallow spun around lightly.

"Maybe it's just a joke." Geng Chaozhong caught Yanzi's spinning body.

"Maybe......."

Just as Geng Chaozhong was about to speak, he saw a waiter walking in front of his seat, probably waiting for him to come back.

"Someone is interested. It seems that the message you just sent is very important." Yanzi also saw the waiter.

Geng Chaozhong nodded.

After dancing to the song, Geng Chaozhong and Yanzi sat back in their seats.

"Sir, that gentleman is interested in the information you provided." The waiter pointed to the billiard room next to him.

"I'll go for a while." Geng Chaozhong nodded towards Yanzi.

The waiter took Geng Chaozhong into the box and walked out.

In the box, a blond man wearing a mask was swinging against the colorful billiard balls on the green table. Even when Geng Chaozhong came in, he still did not raise his head and just asked casually:

"Roosevelt?"

"Yes, what about you?" Geng Chaozhong picked up a striking rod and stood aside to watch.

"You blackmail me, the first to clean up is the winner." The blond man did not answer, but pointed at the table.

Boom!

Geng Chaozhong hit the ball hard, and the black ball was pocketed at the same time, leaving only one flower ball on the table.

"Strength works wonders, I won." Geng Chaozhong shrugged.

"You committed a foul." The blond man raised his head, but it was unclear whether he was happy or angry.

"It doesn't matter, regardless of the black ball, if you hit it, it's a good ball." Geng Chaozhong shook his head indifferently.

"Okay, you win," the blond man stood up and sat on the chair next to the ball table, "you can call me Bonaparte."

"Ha," Geng Chaozhong laughed and sat next to the man, "What do you want to ask?"

"You said you knew that there was going to be a secret agreement between Germany and Britain. What kind of secret agreement was it about?" the blond man asked.

"It's about military affairs." Geng Chaozhong whispered.

"Navy or Army?" the blond man asked again.

"Navy." Geng Chaozhong replied.

The blond man sat up straight and looked directly at Geng Chaozhong, his eyes so sharp that they seemed to penetrate Geng Chaozhong's mask.

"Where did you get the news?" After a moment of silence, the man finally spoke in a hesitant voice.

"This is against the rules." Geng Chaozhong said flatly.

"I bought it," the blond man waved his hand violently, "but there is one condition. This news cannot be leaked to anyone."

"Then the price will be higher." Geng Chaozhong showed a smile of success.

"Make an offer!" The blond man seemed to have made up his mind.

"10,000 francs." Geng Chaozhong said without hesitation.

"Outrageous!" the man was angry.

"I can sell it ten times for one thousand francs. It's not expensive, and it's even cheaper than some socialites in Paris." Geng Chaozhong shrugged.

"8000." The man took a deep breath.

"9000, no less." Geng Chaozhong counter-offered.

"8500." The man leaned back dejectedly.

"Thank you for your patronage." Geng Chaozhong bowed slightly.

The blond man reluctantly took out a check from his pocket, signed it casually, and handed it to Geng Chaozhong.

"Do you still need me to tell you the news?" Geng Chaozhong said with a smile.

"No, you can leave," the blond man leaned back in his chair and looked directly at Geng Chaozhong, "but if I know that this news has been leaked, you will be responsible for it."

"I am Roosevelt, and I am responsible for my own credibility," Geng Chaozhong replied with a smile, "but if there is a problem elsewhere, please forgive me for my helplessness."

"Are you really that Roosevelt? The Apocalypse?" The blond man stared into Geng Chaozhong's eyes.

"It may be, it may not be." Geng Chaozhong stood up and walked out of the billiard room.

"Let's go!" Geng Chaozhong walked quickly to Yanzi's side as soon as he left the billiard room.

"Oh." Yanzi stood up quickly.

The two of them walked out of the Saint-Caroline Salon quickly, one behind the other. Geng Chaozhong stopped a taxi and disappeared around the corner in an instant.

........

Half an hour, a secluded tree-lined alley in Paris.

"Is the news sold?" Yanzi asked in a low voice.

"This is a check for 8,500 francs. Please try to exchange it." Geng Chaozhong handed the check in hand to Yanzi.

"So many!" Yanzi's mouth almost opened into an O shape, "Someone wants to assassinate Adolf?"

"Ah?" This time it was Geng Chaozhong's turn to open his mouth, "How did you know?"

"I'm joking, I don't believe that any information can be sold at such a price." Yanzi said angrily, and then she immediately woke up and said in surprise: "Really?"

"It's true, but not now," Geng Chaozhong shrugged, "I mean, sooner or later, someone will assassinate him."

"What information is that?" Yanzi was very curious.

"Nothing. To be precise, the other party paid me to keep the secret." Geng Chaozhong replied.

"You are a genius," Yanzi looked at Geng Chaozhong with an indescribable look, "the organization needs intelligence geniuses like you, which will make our funds more abundant."

"Wait a minute," Geng Chaozhong interrupted Yanzi, "I earned this money myself and has nothing to do with the organization."

"You..." Yanzi's expression was a little angry, "How could you say such a thing."

"Yanzi," Geng Chaozhong said earnestly, looking into Yanzi's eyes, "I am hired by you, but I do not belong to you. I need to tell you this."

"No one has ever told me this," Yan Zi shook his head in surprise, "You said you are not from our organization?"

"Yes, I am an employee. You can ask the superiors for verification." Geng Chaozhong emphasized again.

"But I brought you here," Yanzi flattened his mouth, "You must pay a certain fee for it, and in addition, you must tell me what information you betrayed."

"I can pay you 1,000 francs, but I can't tell you the news. It's related to my life." Geng Chaozhong shook his head.

"Then I will leak the news that you are Roosevelt." Yanzi threatened in a low voice.

Geng Chaozhong looked around, and Yan Zi took two steps back warily.

"Okay Yanzi, it's about the secret naval treaty signed between the Germans and the British. The British will allow the Germans to expand the number of the navy, especially the number of submarines, and will also provide certain help." Geng Chaozhong said helplessly.

The swallow's eyes lit up.

This is very important news. It means that the British have completely loosened the ropes tied to the Germans. The rearmament of the Third Reich has become a reality, and this is directly aimed at the French!

This also means that the situation on the entire European continent has moved towards an even more uncontrollable tomorrow!

"How did you know?" Yanzi took a step back even more vigilantly. With such important news, she had no doubt that Geng Chaozhong had the motive to kill and silence him.

"Swallow..." Geng Chaozhong shook his head helplessly, turned around and walked away.

"Remember to return the money to me tomorrow..."
