Chapter 299 Exchange Kirin 920

Lu Yan saw Xue Lianxing's calculations, Bao Bufan's instigation, and Su Li's little thoughts.

In fact, if you think about it carefully, marrying into a wealthy family is indeed a good choice. In other words, a political family, like Bao Bufan's choice, is more helpful to your career.

It’s just that I met Ruan Xiaoxiao early, and after so many years, I can’t bear to make her sad!

After hesitating for a while, he sent a text message back, "I'm really sorry. The chip company has just opened and there are so many things. China and Meituan can't even take care of it. I will definitely find time to entertain you in the next two days!"

Su Li, who had just sat down at Shenghai Airport, looked a little sad after receiving such a message.

He immediately smiled and replied: "It's okay, you have work to do, don't worry about me!"

Then he sent a message to Bao Bufan: "I will arrive in Jinling at around six o'clock. Pick me up at the airport!" Then he turned off his phone.

He took out an eye mask from his bag, put it on his head and fell asleep.

But Lu Yan smiled when he saw the news of Su Li's return and didn't care about anything else.

Instead, he picked up the design plan from the company's R&D department and looked at it carefully.

Chip design, the first step is to set goals

In IC design, the most important step is specification.

Just like before designing a building, you first decide on the house type. How many rooms, how to arrange the living room and kitchen, and how to route the pipelines. After determining all the functions, start the design, so you don't have to spend extra time on subsequent modifications.

IC design also requires similar steps to ensure that the designed chip will have no errors.

The first step in specification formulation is to determine the purpose of the IC, its performance, and set the general direction.

Then check to see which protocols need to be complied with. For example, the chip of a wireless network card needs to comply with IEEE 802.11 and other specifications. Otherwise, the chip will not be compatible with products on the market and will not be able to connect to other devices.

Finally, the implementation method of this IC is established, different functions are allocated into different units, and the method of connection between different units is established, thus completing the formulation of specifications.

After designing the specifications, the next step is to design the details of the chip.

This step is like writing down the plan of the building and drawing the overall outline to facilitate subsequent drawing.

After having a complete plan, the next step is to draw a flat design blueprint.

Finally, the synthesized program code is put into another set of EDA tools for circuit layout and wiring...layers of photomasks are used to stack up a chip.

To use an analogy that is not particularly appropriate, it is similar to designing a building. It’s just that each floor of a house is similar, but the chips are different.

Furthermore, buildings are generally tens of meters or even hundreds of meters high. A chip may only be 2.5 centimeters square, but it contains tens of millions of transistors, all of which are nanoscale technologies.

The design aspect is easy to say, but the more difficult thing is manufacturing, especially the most important photolithography machine, which is monopolized by the Dutch company ASML, and advanced ones are not sold to China at all.

Lu Yan's Tianyou system also has advanced photolithography machine technology. Unfortunately, the price is too high. With his current points, he cannot afford the kind that the country urgently needs.

However, the complete technical design of HiSilicon’s first hot model, Kirin 920, is affordable.

It is said that HiSilicon was founded in 2004 and took many detours in the early stage.

In 2009, the first smartphone chip - Hi3611 (K3V1) was launched. Because the product was not very mature, it was ultimately not marketed.

By 2012, Huawei released the K3V2 chip, which used a 1.5GHz quad-core Cortex-A9 architecture, integrated GC4000 GPU, and was manufactured using a 40nm process.

This chip is used in Huawei’s own P2, Mate 1 and P6 mobile phones, but due to the backward 40nm process of K3V2 and poor GPU compatibility, the final experience is not bad.

In early 2014, Kirin 910 was released, using the 28nm HPM process, integrating the self-developed Balong710 baseband for the first time, and integrating Huajing Altek's ISP for the first time, which was the beginning of the rise of HiSilicon Kirin chips.

But it was the Kirin 920 that was launched in early 2013 and born in the summer of 2014.

This chip is manufactured using the 28nm HPM process and integrates audio chips, video chips, ISP, and the self-developed Balong720 baseband, the world's first LTE Cat.6, making the Honor 6 equipped with Kirin 920 for the first time the world's first to support LTE Cat.

.6 mobile phone.

As soon as the Honor 6 equipped with Kirin 920 came out, it soared to the first place in various benchmark software, making HiSilicon Kirin chip compete with industry leader Qualcomm for the first time.

Only then came the follow-up 930, 940, 950... and the rise of Huawei mobile phones.

Therefore, after making various considerations, Lu Yan finally redeemed all the design technologies of Kirin 920 in the Tianyou module of his self-improvement life system.

A total of two million points were spent on money, 1.2 million points on knowledge, 500,000 points on sports, 80,000 points on connections, and 30,000 points on fame.

After the exchange, he only had 4.4 million money points left, 900,000 knowledge points, 2.6 million sports points, 120,000 connection points, and 890,000 fame points.

Everything else is easy to say. Connection points and reputation points are assessed by the system and will slowly increase after redemption. It is mainly related to his personal situation and reputation.

Even if he does nothing, these two items will slowly rise until they are redeemed.

But if something bad happens, it is also possible that it will reach a very low value overnight.

Sports points are not very valuable. If you are willing to spend time, just exercise more.

In terms of knowledge points, you need to read more books and study more. Otherwise, if you want to redeem high-tech technology in the future, 1.2 million knowledge points will not be enough to do anything.

The most rare thing is money points. Although 4.4 million seems like a lot, it is not enough when it comes to high-precision technology.

If he accidentally squanders it all, his wealth will not grow quickly and he will not be able to earn a lot of money points.

The "God's help module" is equivalent to being abolished.

Therefore, after exchanging the full set of design technologies of the Kirin 920, Lu Yan never looked at his system again, lest he could not help but redeem some technologies that could not be applied temporarily, could not bring profits, and earn money points.

But the Kirin 920 is different. If you lead the team early and make the "design" more reasonably, and then OEM it for production, the mobile phone company will be able to rise.

Therefore, these days, Lu Yan has almost been spending time at Kunlun Chip Company, working with the team of engineers to design, discuss, and modify, and then inadvertently came up with an amazing "genius idea"!

As a result, in a very short period of time, the reputation of a talented designer spread in the chip design circle.

In the president's office of Bao Group, Su Li sat on the sofa unhappily and stared at Bao Bufan who was working.

She had been in Jinling for three days, but Lu Yan seemed to have forgotten her. Apart from answering text messages before coming, he never made a single phone call.

"Brother!" Su Li cried miserably.

Bao Bufan felt uncomfortable being stared at by her, so he stood up and said, "Okay, I'm afraid of you. I'll go to his company and find him out for you, okay!"
