Chapter 59 No trace

79 Tulip Street.

When Colin arrived, the door was already guarded by guards wearing plate armor.

The passing crowds distanced themselves one after another, forming a vacuum in front of the mahogany gate.

Colin walked through the crowd and strode into the door. The guard at the door bowed and greeted him respectfully.

The layout of this house is similar to his own home on Palm Street, but it is not a building but a single-story bungalow. It also has one more side house than his, and the whole is in an inverted U shape. There are two sections between the side house and the main house.

European-style white column corridors with rose patterns are connected.

Step into the main house.

In the center of the living room on the first floor, several guards were standing in front of Regina and talking about something.

"Colin..." Seeing Colin enter the room, Regina was a little confused, "Why are you here?"

She looked at Colin with a somewhat complicated expression.

The final result of the duel yesterday morning was quickly spread by the three apprentices who left the last record.

Regina naturally knew it too...she was inevitably a little surprised.

"Regana, Captain Flower sent me to assist you in investigating this murder." Colin explained.

He approached slowly and handed Regina the paper warrant Flower gave him.

He clearly felt that Regina's attitude towards him was different from before.

'Sure enough, a low profile... cannot bring true peace.

Appropriate displays of strength are also important.’

He knew it in his heart.

"...I understand." Regina nodded after reading the warrant, her expression returning to calm.

"I'll take you to see the scene first. The murder happened on Saturday night last week. The specific time was about three to four o'clock in the morning."

She took Colin and walked towards the side house on the right first.

"There are 13 people living in the entire house at No. 79 Tulip Street, including a hostess and twelve maids.

Ten of the maids live in the side houses on the left and right sides, with a total of six rooms. The main house is only occupied by the mistress and two other personal knight maids."

After passing through the European-style corridor covered with beige floor tiles, the two came to the servant's room on the far right.

The brown wooden door of the servant's room was open, and the strong smell of blood escaped from it.

"There were two maids living in this room. According to traces, the murderer started killing from here."

Colin walked slightly closer and took a look inside.

The two maid corpses inside were twisted and stacked on top of each other, lying on the wooden floor. Their faces were distorted and their eyes were protruding. There was a huge hole in the left chest that penetrated the front and back.

The solidified dark brown blood could be seen everywhere, on the walls, bedding, and even the ceiling.

It looked like a powerful monster suddenly entered the room. With its unrivaled power, it violently penetrated the left chest of the maids, took out their hearts, and then threw them to the ground like straw.

"Pay attention to the floor of the room." At this time, Regina reminded.

Colin cast a glance.

On the brown wood grain floor, apart from the bodies of the two maids, there was a huge pool of blood, as well as some radioactive blood stains.

It doesn't look weird... but it's not right!

Colin frowned slightly.

These blood stains splattered in all directions, front and back. But...if the murderer penetrated the maid's chest from the front, then obviously there would not be much blood splattered in the front because there was an arm or something blocking it.

But now, the splatter traces of blood on the front don't seem to be blocked by anything.

Observing the ground carefully, except for the maid's dark red blood, some brown dust, and a few strands of hair that the maid had fallen off, there was no trace of other people in this room.

No footprints, no smell... nothing.

Even the door was intact.

It's as if the ghost did everything...

"It seems that our murderer is invisible." Colin rubbed the surface of the smooth brown wooden door, paused and said.

"Yes." Regina nodded and led Colin towards the next room.

"At first I thought it was a ghost, but the evil detection showed that there was no ghost aura...or, in other words, no evil aura.

There are no monsters, no ghosts, no evil things, no pollution, no traces of witchcraft, nothing, just as if an ordinary person did all this."

She took Colin on a quick tour of the miserable state of the maid's room.

Most of them are not much different from the first one. They all have wounds on their chests and their hearts are missing.

"But judging from the traces at the scene, it looks more like it was done by cultists." Regina stopped in the living room and said.

Colin nodded in agreement.

There is probably another purpose for digging out one's heart regularly like this.

The two of them walked to the master bedroom.

As soon as he entered the master bedroom, Colin frowned.

On the big bed with pink curtains, a naked female corpse had her legs spread open, showing signs of being violated. A leather chain with moon patterns was fastened around her ankles, connected to her wrists from the side.

The chains were so short that her limbs were twisted.

On the left side of the chest, just like other maid corpses, there was a big hole and the heart was missing.

The blood dyed the bedclothes beneath him a dazzling dark red.

"There are traces of being violated, but nothing was left behind." Regina said with a slight frown.

I don’t know if the murderer was motivated by sex or some kind of ritual requirement.

"Good morning, Your Excellencies of the Rapp School." At this moment, a hoarse voice suddenly came from the door.

A wizard with a goatee followed the guard and walked in. He had dark skin and not many wrinkles, but some gray hair still showed that he was not young.

"Good morning," Regina replied calmly, turning to explain to Colin in a low voice, "Pigou is the owner of this house, an intermediate wizard apprentice, and the woman who died on the bed, Lisa, was his mistress."

Colin nodded imperceptibly.

"Your Excellencies, what do you need me to do?" Pigou asked.

He frowned slightly, glanced at the dead Lisa on the bed, and sighed.

He had already learned about this from the guards on the way here. He was angry at first, but after seeing the strange situation at the scene, his anger gradually subsided.

He is already old and just wants to enjoy his last days in peace and does not want to get involved in this kind of incident...even if Lisa is his favorite mistress.

"I need to know something about her." Regina said, pointing to Lisa on the bed.

Pigou nodded and spoke slowly.

According to him, he met Lisa two years ago and has been raised by him here since then. He usually lives in the residential area outside the Lapp School on the mountain, and only occasionally comes down the mountain to find her.

The last time he came to see Lisa was half a month ago.

After listening to the story, Regina pondered for a moment and asked:

"Do you have anything to suspect?"

"No, Lisa has been living here since I met her. She is also followed by a maid on weekdays. If she has any enmity with anyone, the maid will tell me... At least until half a month ago, Lisa never I haven’t made any enmity with anyone…”

Pigou simply shook his head. Although Lisa was his favorite mistress, in the final analysis she was just a plaything in captivity. He knew her daily whereabouts very well.

...In his opinion, it was obviously not a vendetta.

Lisa is probably just an unlucky person.
