I finally finished writing another book, and I am just taking my time, chatting!
Thank you to all readers and brothers, thank you for accompanying me on this journey.
Thanks to the editor-in-chief, Beihe Boss, for his guidance and arrangement recommendations all the way.
"Mountain and Wilderness" lasted nearly eleven months and had 2.1 million words. It is not long, but it cannot be said to be short. Among all the novels I have written, it is considered an above-average novel.
score……
emm…
When it was put on the shelves, the first order was NT$2,500, and now the initial order is NT$9,000 plus.
But Jiunding, when it was put on the shelves, it was 1,800 yuan, but now it is only 2,500 yuan.
From this we can see what the results will be in the middle and later stages of this book.
So, when I wrote the three words "The book is finished" yesterday, I actually breathed a sigh of relief inside, feeling like I was finally relieved.
In fact, I feel more regretful that what was originally a good book was ruined by me.
Those who have read it from beginning to end should be able to tell that there is a big change in style between the early and middle stages. In fact, this is because the original artistic conception was ruined by me.
I didn't realize it at first, but when I realized it, I couldn't change it anymore. It's like a beautiful vase, if it's broken and then repaired, it's useless.
This is also what I feel is very regretful. Originally, the performance of "Shan Ye" was very promising to surpass that of "Er Qing". Its first order was much higher than that of "Er Qing" from the beginning.
But after writing more than two hundred chapters, my performance took a turn for the worse. This is also a problem I often encounter in my writing career, and it was the same when I was writing "Pest".
Although there is an outline, what about an outline? Sometimes it is no match for sudden inspiration! Just like childhood sweethearts are often no match for a love rival sent from heaven.
Of course, this kind of sudden inspiration can sometimes be poisonous. Just like a love rival from the sky, sometimes it's obviously hormones that are causing trouble, and he is greedy for her (his) body, bah!
In fact, I am a very stubborn person. When my writing was crooked, someone advised me to just cut it off and start a new book. If I continued writing like this, my grades would definitely not be good.
After all, the change in style has been huge, from writing about life to writing about battles and mountains, to writing about spiritual practice, from one person's exploration to writing about protecting the planet.
Indeed, as they predicted, the number of 24-hour subscriptions became less and less, and it slowly dropped from more than a thousand. In the end, I didn’t dare to read the subscription anymore.
Some people even say, aren't you just wasting money and deceiving readers?
But think about it on the other hand, if it were cut off so casually, wouldn't it be a harm to the readers who have been following this book?
Especially the big guys who have invested in this book.
Therefore, I will generally be responsible for the books that are put on the shelves. At most, I will cut off some plots and shorten the length, so as not to be said that I am too bad and too cruel.
But in fact, if you reopen the book and rewrite it, the money you can make will definitely be more than continuing to write this incomplete book. This is called stopping the loss in time.
Many authors actually do this, including some first-rate authors.
As for a third-rate author like me, I can only say that it’s just a job to make a living!
However, it is inevitable to shorten the length. This is how I cut the two books "Demon Spirits" and "Pests" from the expected long novels into medium novels.
Although the book "Mountain and Wilderness" is much longer than the previous three books, including Erqing's book, I actually cut out a lot of plots, and I didn't write out many things.
For example, when I first wrote "Hundred Ghosts at Night", I originally wanted to write a plot like "the land is empty and the devil is in the world" to fill in this hole.
At the same time, the two forces of hell and temple in ancient times are also written.
Originally, there were more than just these five ancient evil gods. After all, they involved the ancient temple. There were more than seven seals left by the ancients. In addition to the ancient temple, there was also the ancient underworld.
In addition, there will also be a plot in the lair of the giant millipede by the Juhe Lake, and there is an ancient fossil in it. I actually wanted to write about an ancient era that was older than the ancient times.
This pit also involves some ancient grievances between Xiaobai and Lao Gu. But that pit involved a larger chapter, so it was simply aborted.
Speaking of which, it is also a matter of my own ability. Even though I am an old author, I still cannot control my impulse and am always easily affected by sudden inspiration.
Of course, this was partly because I was writing in a hurry and did not carefully consider whether this unexpected inspiration would damage the artistic conception and overall layout of the entire book.
Later, because I returned to my hometown during the Chinese New Year and had various activities such as blind dates, the time for writing the book became shorter, so I updated it once a day.
However, although it is only the first update, the number of words is actually not too small. There are often large chapters of seven or eight thousand words, and the least are medium and large chapters of four to five thousand words.
In fact, writing a chapter a day has many benefits. It allows me not to rush for updates, some inspiration suddenly appears, and it also allows me more time to think and adjust.
When you really have no inspiration, you can write less. When inspiration comes, write more.
Therefore, I plan to stick to my original intention and insist on writing the new book according to the outline. At the same time, I also plan to carry forward the spirit of updating once a day in the new book... Don’t fight (hold the dog’s head to save your life).
It's just that the new book is still at the point where we are struggling with how to start the chapter, so I can't give you an exact time yet. Please allow me to think about it.
By the way, let me finally talk about another question. From the beginning of this book until now, some people have been wondering whether I copied another book? Why is the beginning so similar?
I mentioned this issue in the book review section when I opened the book. Here, I would like to take this opportunity to talk about my original intention of writing this book "Mountain and Wild"!
In fact, I didn't plan to write this type of survival opening at the beginning. I prepared another theme, which is what I plan to write about in my new book.
Of course, at that time, this theme was just an idea that seemed feasible.
As for that book, that is, "The Hidden South Mountain", I definitely like it. If I don't like it, I won't read it, but that book was discontinued not long after it was put on the shelves.
Like many of his readers, I waited for him for more than a month and still did not see his return, so I had the urge and idea to write a book of my own.
And I checked, and it seems that his is the only book of this type.
As for whether the plot is plagiarized from his, that’s a bit of a stretch. Isn’t that what descriptions of wild life are all about? I copied those survival shows.
Others said that he wrote Black Snake and I wrote White Snake. I made it clear that I copied his work.
this……
emm…
Please take a look at my book "Er Qing". The White Snake has always been the goddess in my dreams.
Moreover, the black snakes he wrote about are all about to become sperms. I wrote about becoming a white snake. What's wrong?
If you want to say that I borrowed this theme, I will definitely admit it! But who told him to stop writing? I haven’t read it. Can’t I write a YY book myself?
But if you say that I plagiarized, isn’t that nonsense?
Besides, when it comes to scholars, can that be called plagiarism?
Others sneered at me, saying that if they stopped writing, I would copy them, and the writing would be messy. This is a bit disgusting. My early layout and foreshadowing were the same as that of that book.
? Apart from the similarities in survival, what other aspects are the same?
Some people say that there are lakes in his books, and mine are also there; there are tigers in his books, and mine are also there...
Is there no lake in my book "Er Qing" and "Pest"?
In the book "Er Qing", there is also a "Qihu" who can open up wasteland and grow vegetables! Can I still say that he is copying me by using a tiger to cultivate fields?
ha……
Forget it, stop talking, the more you talk, the more angry you will become, that’s it!
Now that I have finished writing, there is no need to continue talking about this topic.
Finally, thank you all for your company and support along the way!
