74. I'm so angry!

Gallo didn't know what happened in the Kingdom of the Dead. He cleaned up the traces of the scene, took the fragments of the Lich's phylactery with him, and left Yorktown in a hurry.

All the townspeople here were killed by the lich, and the whole town was empty, silently accusing the lich of its crimes.

When Gallo returned to the camp, he found that the mercenaries had been tied up into a pile and filled into a large pit. The demon Amiya was guarding the pit, imitating Gallo's usual movements.

, a pair of big hands kept scratching his head, seeming to be worried about what problem?

Then I saw it starting to fill the pit with soil, intending to bury the mercenaries in the pit.

But despite this, the mercenaries were still sleeping soundly and snoring very soundly.

Gallo remembered that his order before leaving was: let them keep an eye on these mercenaries, don't let them run around, and don't let them get picked up by wolves. He never expected that Amiya would use this method to carry out his orders.

He hurried over to stop the violence, carried the mercenaries out, and untied the hemp ropes from their bodies.

"Hey, why are you so stupid? You are with me tomorrow and every day, why haven't you learned anything about my intelligence and strategizing?"

"If this continues, the little cat will become smarter than you!"

Gallo scolded angrily.

Amiya squatted down with her back to him, stretched out a thick finger, and drew circles on the ground, looking extremely aggrieved.

"Okay, okay, don't feel wronged, come and help clean up and fill this hole."

"When you get home, I'll teach you how to make electric mice and garlic tortoises out of straw. This little cat can't learn it, but you can still be smarter than them."

Gallo added a few words of comfort.

Only then did Amiya stand up again, and filled the big hole with Gallo.

Early the next morning, the mercenaries woke up in high spirits, and everyone stretched out comfortably.

“I haven’t slept so well in a long time!”

Captain Gessen said with satisfaction that as a mercenary who licks blood from his knife edge, insomnia and neurasthenia are very common occupational diseases. He has almost forgotten how many years ago he last slept so soundly.

Others also echoed that they felt that they had never slept so comfortably even in their own homes.

But they immediately realized something was wrong.

Now, you are obviously sleeping in the wild? There is a York Town not far away that may be lurking in danger. There is no reason to sleep so soundly?

The mercenaries suddenly became nervous and quickly checked their own status.

Although he was unscathed, there were some strange bruises and strangulation marks on his body, as well as some dirt on his head and body...

They were a little confused about the situation, and looked at Gallo beside them, who looked a little depressed.

"Pastor Gallo, you didn't seem to sleep well last night? Do you know what happened?"

Gallo rubbed his eyes and replied:

"Ahem, I saw you guys sleeping so soundly that you were all rolling on the floor, so I kept watch all night by myself..."

"Nothing happened last night, even Yorktown was quiet."

Several mercenaries suddenly looked ashamed, and Captain Gessen even said embarrassedly:

"Thank you for your hard work. In fact, you can wake us up."

Gallo smiled nonchalantly and replied:

"As a kind-hearted pastor, how can you disturb other people's dreams at will?"

These words immediately moved the mercenaries. Pastor Gallo is really a kind and good man! He is gentle and considerate, and he is very considerate of others.

What an ideal teammate!

Just through one small thing, Gallo won a lot of favor in the eyes of the mercenaries.

"Okay, let's go to the town and have a look. Pastor Gallo, can you still persist?"

Captain Gessen asked again.

"Of course, I have long been accustomed to hard training."

Although Gallo wanted to tell them that there was nothing interesting to see over there and everything had been resolved, he felt that if he told the truth, many things would be difficult to explain, so he simply used his acting skills to pretend that nothing happened.

Knowing this, he followed the mercenaries to Yorktown again.

Everyone wandered around the deserted town for a while, then searched separately for a while, and finally met in the small square where Gallo met the lich.

"There's no one there. Wasn't there someone there yesterday? Why did they all disappear overnight?"

"There are no workers in the mine, and there are no traces of migration. Even all kinds of property are still in the house. They seem to have disappeared out of thin air?"

"What exactly happened here? Could it be the work of some evil god?"

The mercenaries summarized their findings and suddenly felt a chilling feeling.

Gallo also cooperated with them and said in surprise:

"Wow! Evil God! So scary! So scary! Let's go back quickly and report this to the big sect!"

Captain Gessen also nodded repeatedly:

"It's not suitable to stay here for a long time, let's leave quickly!"

So just like that, everyone ran all the way and returned to the Innocence City before dark.

Captain Gessen wanted to take everyone with him to report the matter to the three orthodox churches, but Gallo excused himself as he was too tired and went back to the church first.

As soon as he walked in, he smelled a strong aroma. The old bishop had prepared a table full of delicious food. In addition to his favorite baked potatoes, there were also fish, meat and bread. They were waiting for him to come back. Even the little cats were meowing.

Meows came around to greet him.

Gallo suddenly felt a warm warmth, instantly dispelling the fatigue from his body.

"I'm back just in time, much earlier than I expected. Come and have dinner."

The old bishop put on thick insulation gloves with his hands and placed a basin of fish soup on the table.

Gallo quickly sat down at the table, picked up a baked potato out of habit, and started to nibble on it.

"Did things go well?"

The old bishop asked while wrapping towels around the kittens.

"It went very smoothly..."

"I just met a lich on the road and had a little accident, but I have solved it..."

Gallo was busy eating and answered casually.

"Hmm, as long as it goes well, that's good, as long as it goes well, that's good..."

"Wait! What did you just say? A lich?!"

Probably because Gallo's tone was too understated, the old bishop finally realized that what he met was not a cat or a dog, but a lich who was famous for being cunning, cunning, dangerous and difficult to deal with!

"Yeah, Lich, that guy is really bad! He killed everyone in the town!"

"And he was very difficult to deal with. He refused to admit defeat even if he couldn't beat me. He even ran away, which made me so angry!"

"Later I tried to hunt him down, but I don't know if I succeeded. I'll have to ask you to help with divination later."

Gallo said while devouring the food.
